Yes we'll get Todorov and play a diamond formation hopefully with Johnson as defensive midfielder and Hume as an attacking one - with Horse and Toddy up front

Keep with the same defence as today then - quality !!!!

sorted ;)

A mate at work this morning, Cov fan, said that Michael Doyle might join us for around 500K in the summer. I know it's not a loan rumour, but a rumour nonetheless.

EDIT: Sorry, just seen the Doyle thread. Can this be moved?

dont know why people are suggesting it will happen, no chance Kelly would play a diamond.

Quite right, just cos they're expensive doesn;t mean they can play football.

Why do I thnik I'm funny when I'm pissed?

One thing we should take into consideration when being linked to players that on the surface seem to be "out of reach" is that when some other big clubs with good facilities, fan base and some money behind them have tried to go through the divisions in years gone by (Man City, Newcastle, Fulham, Portsmouth), they have all attracted players whose abilities should be displayed in the top division. What I am trying to say is that we shouldnt be surprised if some players decide that it will be better playing for them to play for a club thats on the up with an almost guaranteed place in the side instead of rotting in some Prems teams reserves.

I was refreshed in seeing Blackburns David Bentley being interviewed on SS yesterday. He said he wasnt booted out by Arsenal but he asked to leave because he didnt want to stick around and wait for an opportunity that may never happen. He moves and his career has flourished. I hope more players follow suit because how these muppets can call themselves "real footballers" baffles me. Some are happy in taking 20k per week wages, turning up at bars and announcing that they are "prem players" but never get a game or are bothered if they are picked. What ever happened to players wanting getting upset if they were dropped??!

Examples...Alan Smith, Kieran Richardson (Man Utd), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), Dudek, Boudewijn Zenden, Robbie Fowler (Liverpool). Richardson scores for England and is featured for them a handful of times after impressing at WBA but stays put and his career goes tats up. Smith refuses to go on loan despite a serious injury and being told he is a way away from the first team by his boss. Still he prefers to stay at Manure and walk about time pretending to still play football. The list is endless. Too many of these lads are wasting there careers and IMO should move on. If they ask nicely we will consider them for Leicester!:D:thumbup:

dicov coming back according to the notw..

All these rumours are getting me excired, it'll only end in disapointment once we sign some unknown youngster or out of favour Championship player.

For the record, I'd ****ing love Dickov to come back...

Just watched the Championship, and they said that Mike Newell is likely to be our new manager -

any thoughts?????

hmmm, it's a lottery isn't it really, judging on our last several managers, you'd hope we'd interview some tried and tested individuals, but exactly who is out there?!?! I bet there's a few fellas bangin at Milans door though

Without Kelly, there isn't really any other manager out there that I'd trust !! You might need somebody in the calibre of Ruud Gullit (?) - well somebody who can attract a better class of player like he did at Chelski before the Abramovich era ??

Leicester are doing better than Luton... what's the point of hiring Newell to replace Kelly?

Absolute tripe.

exactly, another supposed 'good young' manager, and yes he has had to sell most of his best players, but what exactly has he acheived, nothing! Same mould as Taylor, Adams, Levein. AVOID

i just read in NOTW that us and dirty leeds to battle it out for leon best

They can have him. ;)

He didn't want to come when he was given the chance. Don't bother with him.

Let him be... at Luton with no money (unless he sells his good players), and a piss-stinking stadium.

Let me just recap who we are being linked with

Paul Dickov - do we really want him back, must be very old now 35? perhaps someone knows on here :dunno: not to sure about this one

Todorov - decent signing, just what we need

Alan Smith - must be a joke surely?

Doyle - dont think he would make much of an improvement, prefer to keep Jarrett on

O'Brien - prefer Stefanovic personally

Hughes - yep, get him in

Stefanovic - has his own thread, ive left my comments there
