Daggers Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 Stuff and nonsense, the lot of it. That said - I'd take anyone over Kelly. I'd have unprotected sex with a syphalitic whore, on the centre circle, have it videoed and then watch it played back on national television rather view another Kelly team attempt to play. (That means I would take Ince as the next Guvnor)
Filbert_Ross Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 lets not forget Boro either where he managed to spend about £40million had an insane wage bill and still managed to turn the team into a pile of crap!!how he keeps getting put forward for jobs is beyond me!! yet the next bloke did the same and got the England job.

dandannieldanok Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 Ince is a very interesting prospect, perhaps a little too soon, remember Kelly's first months in charge, we were getting great results, now look. I think we need to see Ince do another season with Macclesfield before MM contemplates bringing someone of his short experience in.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 Didn't Macclesfield lose 4-1 at Boston today? Not sure but if they did, its a poor result because Boston are wank.
Thracian Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 Didn't Macclesfield lose 4-1 at Boston today? And didn't they win 2-0 the game before. Even a point a game is a minor miracle from the position they were in. If you're going to look for a manager who's never been whacked you might be a while. As Ferguson and Wenger might tell you even on recent experience.

I was only saying. The manager I want lost 1-0 to Gillingham today which is hardly the result of the century either.

Now saying that has hurt my feelings. :D Anyway I wasn't seriously trying to strengthen my argument for Ince. There are a number of names mentioned who I wouldn't mind including your choice. I was just pointing out that any manager you fancy for the job is bound to get a whacking when you least want it.

Sack Kelly...that will give the squad enough momentum to get the few points we need...then we can worry about a new manager still in the championship!
Thracian Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 I may be wrong, but Ince seems a bit thick. Perhaps that'd be better. After all, Kelly's supposed to be quite bright but the players can't seem to understand what the hell he's trying to get across!

Head Honcho Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 Ince would be a huge gamble. In terms of football management he's done nothing and is 2 or 3 years away from managing at this level.
Stevosevic Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 Ince would be a huge gamble. In terms of football management he's done nothing and is 2 or 3 years away from managing at this level. i cant think of any managers that have done nothing in management and had success in there first job oh actually, a fine example from THIS season, is Roy Keane.
Bryn Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 I've thought of a reason for having Paul Ince. I think he'll be good at attracting players. Tbh I think he'll be able to have as good a crack with tactics as any other available manager, and will probably motivate better than most. But something which I think will be crucial for us next season is that people will actually want to play for him. At the moment, the only thing we really have going for us is money- aside from that we're a graveyard for players. But I'd be willing to bet there's a number of footballers out there who grew up admiring Ince and would WANT to play for him in the same way that players do for Keane, in a way that Kelly will never be able to get desire. Ince in
smokey Posted 9 April 2007 Posted 9 April 2007 According to the news of the world (dont know hwo true this is going to be) Milans lined up Paul Ince as the man to take over from kelly.Thougths.... Paul ince doesnt have enough experience but then look at keane at sunderland, i still would like steve cotterill but unsure he could attract big names, i know a mate of the head groundsman and he thinks harry recknapp is coming and its a done deal.
Ric Flair Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Ince is a con artist. Claims to be the Guv'nor and all that bollocks but when push came to shove in pressure situations he bottled it. Look at his England career. Italy bandaged up might spring to mind, but the penalty shoot-outs and other things stick in my mind. Anyone who claims to be the footballing version of Dom Perignon should not then wimp out of taking a penalty or if you do take one, at least hit it with conviction. What this has to do with his managerial career, is possibly irrelevant. But I hate it when players like Ince command the respect from the media for something that doesn't ring true with them. I still think he needs to prove himself. He's arrogant and i've seen too many blaggers down at Leicester in recent years on and off the fookin pitch.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Love the mans loyalty, kissing the badge after scoring for West Ham.................and Man Utd, Inter, Liverpool, Middleborough, Wolves.................... The girlie show on channel four used to have a feature called "W@nker of the Week", draw yuor own conclusions!!!!!

Just one difference smart ass! Sunderland had a premier squad when he took over, it didn't take a football genius to get them going. Paul Ince on the other hand will have the biggest bunch of frauds ever to put on a city shirt at his disposal. ..........and this bollox everyone seems to be going on about respect and contacts most managers will have the same contacts as each other. When has having contacts ever got a team promoted? It's impossible to even judge! Respect my arse he's always been a jumped up little twat who threw his dummies out of his pram when it wasn't going his way. He may of had the respect of his team-mates but I doubt the same could be said of most of the players he played against!

THEfox Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Give any player the chance to play for someone they grew up watching and you will get a response but for how long?
