Getting a right thrashing from Glamorgan. Jim Allenby is a great player. Shame he left us in pursuit of International recognition which never came.

Very lucky with the weather again in the last match. I fear we're only a couple of steps away from Minor Counties cricket unfortunately. Especially if this IPL style franchise idea gets off the ground as you know it'll be Notts and Brum that represent this area.

Seems a good match at Grace Road today.

 

Both teams scoring big, Leicestershire currently 233-0 from 24 overs chasing 323 by Somerset.

That is an incredible win, Somerset are a top side, chasing over 320 and winning with wickets to spare.

I want to go to the match against Middlesex, but the thought of sitting in that sparse YB40 crowd is putting me off. Really wish the fans could turn out for non-T20 games.

 

They need an incentive, was discussing this with a mate yesterday. Reckon it might almost be worth offering free tickets to local league clubs and taking your chances with bar takings. Forty over cricket offers so little to the average punter, they should bring back a 50 over knockout Cup with Minor Counties and county Board sides.

It's an interesting idea, would you keep Scotland, Holland and the Unicorns in the competition? How about MCCU sides?

50 over competition? Yes please!!

 

And ECB to change policy and make sure there's a match on every Saturday and Sunday, so Mon-Fri working people can see some cricket.

Off to watch the lads against Yorkshire in Scarborough this weekend.

 

They have named a 15 year old in the Squad.

 

Took 6 wickets against our seconds. (though can you imagine how bad they are)

Cracking 3 wicket win with 5 balls to spare that included an epic unbeaten 8th wicket stand of 71 between Taylor and Jigar.  :thumbup:
