Lennon leaving celtic

would it really be all that risky? He'll have the respect of the players, he's had the MON experiance, he'll have passion and ambition. I suppose there is risk in the fact he's never done it before, but hey, what's the worst that can happen

he does a poor job and the clueless ****wits slate him and start to disrespect his playing legacy here

I'd prefer him to Paul fookin Ince. One pretends to be some sort of leader whilst the other is a born leader.

He could completley F8ck the job up and show the whole world he cannot manage a piss up in bewary by getting us relegated, and spending loads of money in the process.

But how much does his legendary status here actually mean to him? I'm sure he'd be willing to take the risk should he get the chance. I'm certainly not worried about the chance of him failing, it would never disguise what a fookin winner he was as a player here.

This would have been what the majority of people on FT would have posted about a month ago.

I quote

‘I would like to see Lennon as coach alongside Kelly as manager’

now it's just...

‘Lennon as our next manager’

The guy hasn’t even finished playing and already some people want him as our coach?

I can understand maybe Lennon coming back playing a few games as back up next season but to suggest giving him the manager/coach job is ludicrous.

yes ric i understand that but you are not 1 of the clueless ****wits i was refering to, it'd really piss me off to hear that from supossed "fans" i'd much prefere to see him as a no 2 to someone before eventually takeing over on his own

Mate, where were you this time last season? Lennon was heavily linked with the managers job here and some 'in the know' posters even said he'd agreed to take over. The place was awash with sweaty and excited FT'ers.

Who's place would he take in midfield?. There's nothing he can do that Weso can't and we don't need another playmaking midfielder - we need an attacker.

King gets no credit from anyone for whatever mysterious reason so we need someone else.

Cos if you espect us to get anywhere need the Premiership with our usual absence of goalscoring midfielders you can forget it.

And that's warning in advance on April 25, same as was given last year.

Unless you are very shortminded, Weso has spent the majority of the season in the treatment room whereas Lennon has played consistently at a higer level and won things. Hmm I think I'd take Lennon in the champ over Weso next season!!

Back up? The bloke captined a team that reached the Champions league knock out stages and then took AC Milan to extra time this season. Back up, FFS.

Great player when he was here, but he's past his best, and no disrespect I think we could do better!!!

I'm still yet to be convinced that we will get players that could play against Manchester United in a Champions League match and boss the game. If you think we can get better players than Neil Lennon then hat's off for your optimism, but sadly I think you'll be disappointed.

lennon would walk into any side in this league and still make it into alot of prem sides

optimism is not the word I'd use

I bet he doesn't even step down to the Championship, I would not be suprised to see Martin offer him a one year deal at Villa, I can't honestly believe some people think Neil Lennon would not be a good signing, footballing none entities.

You're probably right, there are bigger and better clubs than us that will be after him next season. I think he might be tempted with a role here though if it includes long term future after he's finished playing. He'd still piss this league and Wesolowski would learn a lot from him.

Well I personally would like to see Elvis Hammond played in central midfield.

But was he not the player who gave the ball away in midfield handing AC Milan the vital goal the needed to qualify? He’s no spring chicken, and I am not denying he couldn’t still do a more than capable job in the championship. Anyway we’re not even safe yet so all of this seems a bit premature to be discussing Lennon’s arrival.

I'm used to disapointments when it comes to city.

Whenever I think of Lennon, it reminds of Dublin, I don't know wh!! Maybe I will be wrong, although I would not begrudge his signing, I would prefer weso to that role and the money invested elsewhere!!!

Errm I don't know I can't remember, but if he did it wasn't in a dangerous area was it as Kaka ran half the length of the picth to score, any way this is after he'd already played very well for 90 minutes in the San Siro and he was probabley getting a bit tired! And we're not going to be playing AC Milan in the San Siro next season are we sir? No, it's going to be Plymouth at Home Park! Worlds apart!

And we're not discussing Lennons arrival we're discussing wheather or not he would be a good singing, which he clearly would be!

Only if he dyes his hair blonde again though!!!!!

forget lennon,he has been and gone,to old,we have a new owner, and i hope he is going to get younger players than lennon, who is over the hill, sorry lads

Probably been mentioned, but Lee Hendrie says his Villa career could be over, another midfielder who could do a job if we could get him, although I do not knows what's going on with his face, looks like some sort of crack whore, and similar to any woman being paid to ****, I'm sure he'd put in one hell of a performance

Yes he looked exhausted, and when he did give the ball away it gave Kaka all the space and time just to run through and score. In a way I think it would better if we were playing at the San Siro rather than Plymouth at home park, we probably wouldn't get as humiliated as we do every time we visit there.

And yes he Lennon would be a good signing.

I would try and get both in.

Would love him here.

But I can't see MM going for it at all.

It's seems to me the exact kind of thing MM would go for, good experinced player, high wages, bosman.

Should have qualified my statement. I meant as a coach or manager. I can't see Lenny wanting to come back here and play for a final season (without any job after that) more likely he'll go to a Prem team for that.
