Deathside Posted 1 May 2006 Posted 1 May 2006 what a great choice Swiss!!! are you a fan of Fugazi in general Swiss?I have loved them for many years infact since I heard the amazing baseline at the start of Waiting Room on the first EP!!! They are proof that you be a successful without marketing, expensive promotional videos and by selling all cds at a cheap price!! Having Ian MacKaye in the band did help get Fugazi of to a flying start I had a strange Fugazi incident last week - I was over in Jersey for a few days and I'd taken the plunge and met up with a girl over there who until now I'd only known virtually (She used to be a Suicide Girl) Anyways we went to a country pub for the evening - It was a really strange place - Same decor as the only other time I went there (15-20 years ago) just a much thicker coating of nicotine Previously the pub cliental was predominantly farmers - and the pub had an olde worlde 'you're sorts ain't welcome here' ambiance This time the only people in the pub were Polish farm workers and the ambiance was more 'Ha ha the freaks got lost and came in here by accident - but if they want to part with some of their cash we don't mind' Anyways we were chatting away doing our best to ignore our surroundings when suddenly our conversation stopped abruptly and we both sat in a kind of state of shock Up until that point we hadn't noticed any music in the pub now Waiting Room was blaring out of the speakers - WTF was going on?? The answer was simple - It was Tuesday night and it was 9:00PM - The pub was playing Radio 1 and Mike Davies started The Lock Up by playing Fugazi - Waiting Room None the less it was a very surreal moment
