Nottingham Forest have signed former Celtic midfielder Neil Lennon on a one-year contract. Lennon, 35, who left Celtic last month after seven successful years, becomes Forest boss Colin Calderwood's first signing of the summer. Lennon, however, will not be joining in a coaching capacity as first thought. A number of Championship clubs were chasing the Ulsterman's signature while Sunderland had also been linked with a move for the former Leicester player.

MPH Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Henrik Larsson said today that he thinks Neil Lennon will be goi9ng to Forest as a player coach and thinks Forest will come good where does it say that?
MPH Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Now why the hell has he gone there? ok i am officially upset.
MBK Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Now why the hell has he gone there? Wages I suppose. Explains 1 year deal.
sdb Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 it annoys me he's gone there, but i'm glad he wont be lining up against us next season. for some reason that would have annoyed me more...but forest? oh neil
Lester LXXIV Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 big step down understatement!! Bloody F#*@ST scum! (I'm not bitter, I'M NOT!!!)
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I don't care what anyone says, I am f**ked off with that.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 lol And some of you lot were worried that him re-signing for us might affect his status as a Leicester City legend! I think this is slightly worse!
Jon the Hat Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 lol And some of you lot were worried that him re-signing for us might affect his status as a Leicester City legend! I think this is slightly worse! If the best he thinks he can do is League 1 then I think we can be sure he wouldn't have cut it here. He clearly can't be bothered to put the effort in anymore if that's what he is happy with.
Babylon Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Couldn't give a crap... one player over 35 signed is enough for me.

Stil,l he's signed for Forest, which makes him a ginger ****.
Lester LXXIV Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Dear MODs, Now that we've all let out our aggrievences about this transfer can you please delete them all so no F#@*ST scummers can see how annoyed we are and take the piss! Much appreciated Lester (aka Foxile74)
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Neil Lennon as a player coach..? Whatwhatwhat??!!
Mark Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 It's only one of those friend of a friends dodgy rumour. Apparently he hates it at Forest and would rather be playing for Celtic reserves, he's desperate to come back here and Taggart is doing his best to bring him back.

The boy's still got it, as evidenced on Tuesday night.
Tommeh Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Would love this to be true, he was great in both games against us. And when he went off on wednesday it really opened the midfield and in my opinion conributed greatly to our win / forests downfall. Even if he just lasts this season then coaches he'd be the ideal replacement for weso whilst hes out.
NFFC Chris Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 He hate's Calderwood's style of football apparently so I won't completely write this one off,but I hope he's not true because he's been excellent so far and as I've said before he could be a good replacement as manager if things don't work out with Calderwood
Chairman of the Bored Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Has he got his coaching badges yet?
Ultra Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Yes please. The boy's still got it, as evidenced on Tuesday night. The evidence of his displays in League One suggests otherwise. Would he really be an improvement on Kishishev?
MPH Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 he would certainly fill the gap left by Wesa for a few weeks.. and to have him along as coach as well would be a good move for the fans.... Lets hope of course Gerry and Neil CAN actually coach as its pointless having them coaching otherwise....
