lookwhaticando Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Very bad!! I almost choked on my sweet chilli chicken you fecker!! -------------------------- He's not expensive enough. Clearly, Mandaric isn't planning on spending millions on one player and I, for one, find this fact truly disturbing. I'd be pleased with this signing. He's 29, so he should have a good few years left in him, and he's made 90 appearances or so for Birmingham - plenty of which will have been in the Premiership. Birmingham obviously rate him, and they've used him in the Premiership and getting back to the Premiership. Good experience to have.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 yes i think he will be great for us! But how many players have we heard about coming to our mighty blues but who has really come!I hope this is true! I know what your saying, the likelihood of him coming is still slim at the moment. Plus I find it incredibly harsh on Clemence that Brum would just turf him out like this after playing such an integral part in their promotion.
MPH Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 My bad.The talk was about Kisnorbo where I read it, but then suddenly changed to Saganowski. maybeeeeeeee..... they will step aside and let us sign saga if we let them have kisnorbo... that would make things interesting...
Pete_foxes Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Excellent player at this level. I believe he can be a solid premiership player aswell Snap him up quality player
Lichfieldfox. Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 The Mirror got it right re James Chambers. Hope they are right with this one.
MPH Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 I believe he can be a solid premiership player aswell Snap him up quality player agreed. we should snap him up. does anyone know how much of our transfer budget we still have remaining? i mean roughly, of course, as i doubt Milan would actually reveal the exact amount... would 500k on clemance effect our ability to sign anyone else? i reckon he could be the backup plan for not getting hendrie....
General Smuts Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Id take him ahead of hendrie tbh i rate him higher and the effect on the team of signing clemence would be far more substantial than the ill effect which may be caused by signing a money grabbing bastard like hendrie.

MPH Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 i think bruce will offer him another contract i thought it read that bruce hadnt offered him another deal...

We sold McCarthey for 650000 so that will cover that.

I'd have them both if we could!
Bryn Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Offer him guaranteed first team football and the Captain's armband and we might persuade him. Oh, and plenty of money.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Offer him guaranteed first team football and the Captain's armband and we might persuade him. Oh, and plenty of money. I would be surprised if we didn't offer him that supposing the rumours are true, he certainly deserves it.
city1993 Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 I thought he had a superb season with Brum, I hope we can get him, he can sit just behind hellings with weso next to him, like Liverpool do with Alonso and Mascherano behind Gerrard, not that I'm comparing them or anything, but that would be a wicked signing for us.
lee7 Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 i thought it read that bruce hadnt offered him another deal... somewhere else i thought it said that he was still waiting for bruce to offer him a contract
MPH Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 somewhere else i thought it said that he was still waiting for bruce to offer him a contract kind of the same thing, really...

To be honest... we'll get better than Hellings, he'll start off as a squad player and have his chance in the reserves, dont expect him to start any time soon (at least i hope not!). Clemence would be a great signing if we could get him, not sure if Brum would let him go though and weather he'd have any interest in coming here?!

Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 How on earth can people make any sort of assumption how much of a role (or indeed what role) Hellings will play!
Pete_foxes Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 How on earth can people make any sort of assumption how much of a role (or indeed what role) Hellings will play! agreed, the majority of people are slating him before hes even kicked a ball. I mean I know, if hes signed from an amature side that finished bottom, admitidly it does not sound all that promising. But we just do not know, he could be our signing of the season.
Lovejoy Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 How on earth can people make any sort of assumption how much of a role (or indeed what role) Hellings will play! left back in the changing room if most on here got their way!

I really hope he proves me wrong and like you said maybe becomes our player of the season but there are no reasons, except his age, to be positive about. He obviously had earyl potential but having been released from an amateur contract to a team who finished bottom in the Dutch 2nd division is pretty poor. It is the equilvalent of signing a Luton, Leeds or Southend player who was on amateur terms.

I do remember reading from an article on't tinternet Mckay said something along the lines of "we've got a number of players coming through the youth ranks " Stuart Downing, Stuart Parnaby, Dave Wheater, Adam Johnson and also theres the dutch guy Sergio Hellings who is also showing alot of potential" My point is that all those players went onto make first team appearances for Boro. If he was correct about all those players, whats to say he won't be right about Hellings?
