Thracian Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 cf. Mark de Vries. A player trying to get the best out of himself at the fag end of his career. Fryatt would do well to take note.
Milan Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 I'd have personal problems if De Vries was playing instead of me.
Milan Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Wouldn't sursprise me if Fryatt plays tonight, hope he takes his chance.
Joe. Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 I'd have personal problems if De Vries was playing instead of me. Do you watch games?
Blue Bob Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 NOt sure on MM or MA's thoughts, but I think it is early in the season; we are bound to get injuries and suspensions to the three that seem to be in favour at the moment DJ, Hume and De Vries. There is also the possibility of two cup runs to add further games to the season. It is worth keeping Fryatt as back up to the main three - last season it really showed that we had no depth to the squad this season if we want to progress we need a bigger squad. It is now down to MA to keep them all happy!!
dandannieldanok Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Wouldn't sursprise me if Fryatt plays tonight, hope he takes his chance. Same here, I would be surprised if he didn't get a chance and I want all our players to do well Fryatt as much as anyone. Like others I don't think a loan would do him any harm but it would be a waste to sell him, considering our profit would hardly be earth-shattering. He is a bright prospect and if we harbour hopes of promotion within 3 years we must nurture young talent. To be honest I'm not sure we should hang onto de Vries for longer than a couple more years at most.
Geo V Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 It's alright having the potential to improve but another thing getting down to the work required to realise that potential. And having "personal problems" whether of your own making or not - and I think Fryatt's may fall into both categories - is not the best launching pad for a period of concentration and hard graft. I don't pretend to know the current situation or whether his problems are easing - I just look at Matty's performance on the pitch. If Martin Allen still has faith in him I'll back that and hope the justification is shown on the pitch. If is isn't or if MA's seen enough then c'est la vie. Fryatt will have wasted a golden opportunity and should know that wherever he goes in the future he has to take himself with him. Sooner or later, to be a winner and to be successful, you have to tackle anything that might be holding you back, whether professional or personal. MDV has been given a chance despite being put on the list and has done well. On the other hand, we have turned down a reported £900k bid for Fryatt who isnt on the list. Fryatt also out scored MDV in pre-season. With all that said, I think its unfair to have a go at his performance on the pitch this season as he hasn't been given a chance yet. Who knows if ends up sinking or swimming if he had the same chance as MDV this season? There is obviously a lot more to it than meets the eye and it may well be personal problems as you suggest but something doesn't quite add up.
Milky Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Fryatt NOT Palace bound Strange article, not sure where that came from.
AyewJoking Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 It's not the easiest decision to make.City are trying to win promotion. Everyone knows Fryatt has some ability. He doesn't look like doing much better than bench warming for the forseeable future in League matches but why would Leicester feel they need to transfer him to another Championship club and have him possibly hurt our own ambitions?. Sure, if there was a big enough bid it would be tempting but is such a bid likely? I could be wrong but I don't think so. He could as easily remain here as move. Agreed.
Jimmy Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 he was on the bench tonight so i think he's staying atleast for now
Geo V Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Fryatt NOT Palace boundStrange article, not sure where that came from. It doesnt rule a deal out though. Taylor said: "I like Matt Fryatt - but I don't know why we have been linked with him." He also adds "It is not a case that we can buy a load of new players. We are still trying to do things on loan if we can" Its probably a case that he cant afford him?
Chambo7 Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Do not sell Matty Fryatt! i cant understand why he isnt in the squat at the minute hes 1 of the brightest young english strikers around...bad season last season mainly due to injury but given his chance GOALS GOALS GOALS

Rossatron Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 rumour is his house is up for sale not a good source though but just when someone told me it fitted with the rumours, more than likely it is jus bullshi*t
lookwhaticando Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 rumour is his house is up for sale not a good source though but just when someone told me it fitted with the rumours, more than likely it is jus bullshi*t That's an old rumour. If you believe it, his house has been on the market for about 4 months now. It must be a really shitty house if it's still on the market.

MPH Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 so, no movement for fryatt before deadline day..... intresting... maybe he didnt like mad dog. just a guess..
DB11 Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 At MK Dons he didn't get on well with many players did he?
Cheese Me Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 so,no movement for fryatt before deadline day..... intresting... maybe he didnt like mad dog. just a guess.. Glad to see he's still here. We certainly didn't need to get rid and I'm hopeful he can still play a big part this season. People must get tired of hearing it but he's still really young and could still come very good for us.
