just read this on bbc gossip section

Wolves have had a £900,000 bid for striker Matt Fryatt turned down by Leicester. (Daily Star)

Just heard on Radio Leicester before the Crystal Palace game, that Fryatt is possibly moving to Wolves for £1.4/5 million!

I will be shocked and amazed if that is true. Unless we are getting shot of Bothroyd

Good luck Fryatt whatever you do. But if he scores a brace against us, i shall not be best pleased.

If he signs for us dont worry he will never get a game as he is not Irish

That my be why he was omitted today then. I thought it was weird!

thats because he is garbage and de vries is a better player!

We wouldnt get £50k for MDV never mind £1.5m! If Fryatt leaves, he will be the one player in recent times who comes back to bite us on the arse. I can see him having a very good career and doing well in the future and thats why I`d rather his future was with us and not a Wolves or a Preston.

wouldnt want fryatt to go... he is a good player when he is fit and on form... just needs somebody to get the best from him....De Vries was looking sharp pre season, but if he doesnt do the damage on the pitch, martin allen has gotta get his tongue out of his arse and drop him for the hitman hume or matty...

im sure allen must see the talent in fryatt, but maybe he just likes the big and little strike force of dj and de vries.....

dont want fryatt to go either... but who would you pick him ahead of?

i wouldnt rate him ahead of hume OR DJ... i possibly would count him ahead of MDV but it seems MA doesnt so that makes him our 4th choice striker. and we dont even know where MA considers Cort in all this... he's been injured ( suprise suprise) and we have yet to see what he has to offer the team- i suspect MA has him marked down as the main target man ahead of MDV which would make fryatt 5th choice... i rate fryatt but being offered 1.5m for someone who i dont think will be a regular isnt bad money... just as long as they then use the money and buy a decent left winger!!! :-)

when you put it like that then yes the money is good.....i personally think fryatt is better than cort and MDV but im not the manager..... i would play hume and DJ up top if i was picking the team.... MDV had one good game for us and that was vs spurs in the fa cup.....

anyway back to the point, i think if we do sell fryatt for that money then its good business, as was the McCarthy deal(who has been wank for charlton) but really i dont want him to go because he will be one of these players that will go on and be a great player for another club....

WHY DOESNT ANY OF THESE YOUNG TALENTS THAT WE GET AT OUR CLUB EVER GO ON TO LIVE UP TO THERE TAGS???

He doesnt have his tounge up De Vries arse at all.

He performed well in pre-season and well against Blackpool its just common sense to pick the players that are performing well.

Also when things didnt goo too well for De Vries he actually had the balls to take him off and throw on someone who might have more of an impact.

In any group of, say, 10 matches virtually every player will have a bad or ineffective game. In fact about 2.5 such games out of 10 even in a decent side.

DeVries might have been one such player today, Mattock had problems against Blackpool, there's been Newton in the recent past, Henderson, Porter, McAuley, Fryatt, Hayes ...they have all had games that ranged from below average to shockers.

But being good enough generally is not about whether you ever have a below average game. It's about whether you can produce 7 out of 10 decent games.

There is a reason why some of the aforementioned players don't play for Liverpool or Man Utd, its about consistency. Players at this level will always throw in some shockers but to me the important thing isnt the odd decent game or nice piece of skill, but the obvious abilities that a player possesses that also attracts the attentions of other suitors. Fryatt is one of those who has shown enough to suggest that he will become a very good player and thats why he is attracting a fee of well into 7 figures.

Fryatt is an enigma. Clever and dangerous at times, selfish and wasteful at others.

He could as easily be a bargain as a waste of space for £1.5m.

But on balance - and considering how little he's likely to play - I'd take the money.

Campbell, DeVries and Hume are ahead of him and I'd sooner have Odhiambo/McKay/Ashley Chambers as well.

Not because they're necessarily better strikers. But because they're better team players.

We wont get promoted with just Campbell, DeVries and Hume and then the younger lads you mentioned. Ok you missed out Cort and Sappleton (lildave are you reading lol) but look at teams like Sheff Utd who have Beattie, Hulse, Sharp, Stead, Webber and Shelton. If we want to be competitive at the top we would have to replace Fryatt as we havent got enough quality.

Dont get me wrong here, i agree that the best performers should play.... but it is very obvious that he prefers MDV over Fryatt.....

It is his choice at the end of the day..... thats why he is the gaffer..... and i dont hate MDV, he could be good but just bottles it when given the opportunity!

Anyway, if fryatt does go to wolves, we must get in a classy striker, if theres any about we can attract....

Not sure how I feel over Fryatt leaving yet, few months ago I would have said no way, but now i'm not so sure. I would like to see him get a good few games runout, even if for the reserves. If he wants to be starting 11 or even our 3rd striker then he really must start to shine in training and in games. If MA doesnt sell him now and he has a very average season, then we could be looking at selling him for far lower price next summer! Plus with chairman like MM, we wont wait around for ever for him to produce the goods! Get him involved MA, so we can see if he has a big part to play in our future!!!

Perhaps Fryatt will be the first casualty of MA's FIFO (fit in or f@ck off) policy. It could be nothing to do with football, he's maybe just a disrupting influence in the squad.

Well we been linked with one of celtics strikers so if thats true I would expect fryatt to make way for him.

I agree with thracian, 1.5mill for a player who cant even get on the bench and had a shocker last season is great business.

Yeah get rid for that money and get riordan in.

I don't understand what De Vries is sill doing here tbh. Fryatt is leagues ahead of him on his day. If anyone should go out the door it should be De Vries.

But when was the last time he had "his day"?
