Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor wants to snap up out of favour Leicester striker Matty Fryatt. (The People)Please... Pete, please! and pay an extortionate fee to boot! Sell, sell, sell.
Simi Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 At least if he goes Palace we wont have to worry about him improving, until Taylor goes anyway.

Geo V Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 This should be an interesting few days in the transfer market. I`ll predict that Hughes and Rab fook off on deals, Elvis will get loaned out to D2 and we`ll bring in one midfielder, probably on loan. I`d be surprised if MF goes this late in the transfer window unless a replacement is already lined up.

I reckon we'll have Rab, Hughes and perhaps Mabbs (I mean 12months back Sunderland were happy to make an offer!) sold... Elvis will probably be off on loan to a lower league club, but i also think it possible that someone could bid for MDV and Fryatt will probably be sold (Wolves, Palace... I dont know but i get the sense he's on the way out)... as for players coming in i agree we'll probably bring in one (maybe two) in midfield and perhaps another striker (not that we need one - but were all three of Hammond, MDV and Fryatt to be on the way out ).
David Guiza Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 apparently a hearts midfielder has broke his leg so hughes should be off.
Jon25747 Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 snt Elvis injured and will therefore fail any medicals, meaning we are stuck with him

He`s been the surprise for me. I know he hasn't been great for us but has played on the left for a bit of it and I realize he has cost us a few goals by poor decisions but still, he is an ex-International defender who is 29 and not over the hill. I'm sure he can do a job at a Barnsley or Colchester but I have been surprised no-one has bothered to get him on the cheap from us so far.

I'm not his greatest fan, but he is a right-back and when has he really been given the opportunity there???

In his defence he hasn't played there much for us but still I would have thought that someone would snap him up for £100k, someone?? Charlton???

DB11 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 This Sunday's 'The People' reports Peter Taylor is considering placing an offer for Matty Fryatt. Our former striker is out-of-favour at The Walkers Stadium and the Crystal Palace manager is lining up a bid.It is thought Fryatt would be available at a cut-price deal. As part of the transfer which took Matty to Leicester it is believed Walsall will get a sell-on percentage. If Fryatt is sold on the cheap, our cut will obviously be less than what could have been expected. Alternatively, Fryatt could be loaned out to boost his market value. The newspaper suggests Crystal palace would still be interested in this type of move. The stumbling block could be the future of The Foxes manager Martin Allen. Having only been in the job for three months, a number of Sunday newspapers his time could already be up. After weekly rows with Milan Mandaric a short list is being drawn up to replace him. The 'News of the World even suggest Allen could be gone by midweek. Top of the likely candidates is apparently Paul Jewell. With the transfer window closing at 00.00 September 1st, Fryatt could be in for an interesting week and Walsall could see our transfer budget being boosted.
Stevosevic Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 First time i would have said this, but sell Fryatt. DJ seems to be a poacher infront of goal, Hume drops off and DeVries holds the ball up well. As cover we have Cort and Odhiambo, i think MA likes this lad and wouldn't be afraid to throw him on if needed.
Jimmy Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 i cant see us loaning him to someone in this league, perminant deal or sod off IMO
The Reverend Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 I really like Fryatt and think hes a very good player, hes only 21 for crying out loud, but he seems to have been shifted down the pecking order, and for the sake of his career, perhaps it would be better for him to move on, which is a shame. I dont think theres much between DJ and Fryatt. Only thing DJ has which Fryatt doesnt is pace, but i suppose that is a major asset, but i would keep both.

Pace is a big asset,Fryatt is snail pace at 21,what will be like at 31? Leicester senior league or worse?
Joe. Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Get rid I say. Fryatt's nothing special. I wouldn't let him go on the cheap, he's a decent playr, but if a substantial offer came in I see no reason why not to accept it. He's clearly out of favour and his first team chances are going to be extremely limited. The guy needs a period in the first team, or he's going to get nowhere. On the basis he's not going to get what he needs to be successful for us, I think we should sell up.

Leicester senior league or worse? Is DJ **** bigger than Fryatt. Is he stronger? Maybe. I can assure you that in a decent team, say if he goes on loan to Palace, he would bag 15 goals at least.

Jimmy Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 We are a decent and all he does is mess everything up or gets tackled, hes garbage! he hasn't played this season, when he played for us in the past we were shit. in fact we have been extreamly lucky not to be in the same league as tomorrows opponents
DB11 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Fryatt is a good finisher but that is the only attribute I like of him.
Brainy Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 We are a decent and all he does is mess everything up or gets tackled, hes garbage! And how many times has he screwed it up for us this season? Infact how many times has he played this season?
chesterfox Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Keep Matty Fryatt campaign!!!!!! Matty Fryatt will come good - leave him be!! MartinAllen'sblueandwhitearmy
