Lets Be having You Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 just read this on bbc gossip sectionWolves have had a £900,000 bid for striker Matt Fryatt turned down by Leicester. (Daily Star) Good,we need to keep him,i think under mad dog we will see the real matty
brookfox Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Anyone know if he was training yesterday, I couldn't see him in any pictures on the OS?
Ric Flair Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I'd be truely amazed if we turned down that sort of money for Fryatt. I'm pleased, however.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Anyone know if he was training yesterday, I couldn't see him in any pictures on the OS? Yes he was training and you can see him on the os pictures.....
teblin Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Still think fryatt has it in him if fully fit. Would be a little disappointed
Thracian Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I'd have taken the money in an instant, especially if there were add odds thrown in. Presumably City believe they can get a bit more. Notwithstanding that it would close-to pay for someone like McLeod, that sort of cash could help us buy or go towards a much more versatile striker.
Cheese Me Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Definitely worth far more than that and we should not be selling him. We're still lacking proven goal scorers and whilst he had a troubled season last year he was on fire when he first arrived and had a great record at Walsall.
Ric Flair Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I'd have taken the money in an instant, especially if there were add odds thrown in. Having thought about it, so would I. It's not often you double your money for a player who's had a nightmare season.
Master Fox Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 just read this on bbc gossip sectionWolves have had a £900,000 bid for striker Matt Fryatt turned down by Leicester. (Daily Star) Well that’s a load of old guff in my opinion. There is no way we’d turn down that sort of cheese for Fryatt, just wouldn’t happen. The Daily star should keep to what they do best, knockers.
chili_con_carne Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I'd have taken the money in an instant, especially if there were add odds thrown in. I wouldn't considering we have to pay Walsall about 25% of the sale or something
Zingari Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I'd have taken the money in an instant, especially if there were add odds thrown in. you may be right ; but given that MA could have better motivational / tactical skills than the previous regimes , i'd like to see if he can fulfil the early promise
chili_con_carne Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 And I wouldn't be pleased if we sold Fryatt anyway, we know he has potential and remember how good he was at Walsall? He's a decent player at the end of the day, it's not surprising he didn't play well under Kelly (Who would)
Raj Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Think he deserves one more season. Maybe IF he stays fit and under the guidance of MA he can prove to be a half decent player at this level? Although so far he has not!!!!

Mort Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Definitely worth far more than that and we should not be selling him. I'd have said on the basis of his time at City he's worth £500k max... if there had really been an offer of that kind of money for Fryatt I'd have gone for it in a second, could have reinvested it in a more consistent replacement, you can only give a player so many chances , Fryatt gets cut a good deal more slack than a lot of underachivers!
Thracian Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 kisnorbo improved quite a bit He did, basically because he was played out of position to begin with. He is still much overrated.
chili_con_carne Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 kisnorbo improved quite a bit Yeah but some players need the motivation and others don't, it just depends on there self motivation
eaststandtom Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 fryatt has scored goals all throughout his career. he had one dodgy season due to continual, niggling and persistant injuries. to write him off would be a mistake we must keep the guy and give the chance to do what he has the potential to do when he is fit and injury free 900,000 offers from wolves should be hit out of the ball park and rightly so
Ric Flair Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 The thing is as well, rumours are that Fryatt got the hump when we wouldn't let him go to Birmingham last summer. Hearing us turn down bids from Wolves, probably won't boost his morale either.
Zingari Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Yeah but some players need the motivation and others don't, it just depends on there self motivation i'd only buy the players that didn't
Zingari Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 He did, basically because he was played out of position to begin with. He is still much overrated. he probably is , but he's still one of our best assets
MBK Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 The thing is as well, rumours are that Fryatt got the hump when we wouldn't let him go to Birmingham last summer. Hearing us turn down bids from Wolves, probably won't boost his morale either. However I just think that MM is holding out for money not least because Fryatt probably wants to leave. I'd rather keep him for another season allowing him to get decent games as well.
Thracian Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Yeah but some players need the motivation and others don't, it just depends on there self motivation I'd never fault Kisnorbo's motivation. The bloke is 100% focused and deserves credit for that. His problems lie with his lack of pace and poor distribution.
