DanTheFox07 Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Fryatt is an enigma. Clever and dangerous at times, selfish and wasteful at others. He could as easily be a bargain as a waste of space for £1.5m. But on balance - and considering how little he's likely to play - I'd take the money. Campbell, DeVries and Hume are ahead of him and I'd sooner have Odhiambo/McKay/Ashley Chambers as well. Not because they're necessarily better strikers. But because they're better team players. Can`t believe you would get rid of Fryatt! he has clearly had problems with injury etc, Tell me somethink what do you think to the Goal he scored at Derby last season? Who else in our team has the skill to score a goal like that, another valid point as to why Fryatt doesnt get as many goals as he should is because we play him upfront with hume, From the last time i went to see leicester play there were playing the long ball to both of them, there never going to win header`s! which is why i think we should play De vries with fryatt and hume on the wing.
STUHILL Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 But when was the last time he had "his day"? That's very good question and one Fryatt needs to rectify very soon! He has so much support in here but needs to prove them right! Granted, he needs to play to do that but thats where he has to step it up in training and in reserves to get his chance. Come on Fryatt!!!!

Principally I'd get rid because I don't think the manager's going to play him much so there's not a lot of point him hanging around when we could use the money better. Campbell, Hume, DeVries are ahead of him, Odhiambo and McKay in the wings and it is clear we're chasing another at least one more striker. It doesn't look promising for the guy. Fryatt played widish for parts of the games against Cambridge and Accrington. He wasn't impressive. His effect came only when he moved inside and then he missed a good few chances. Hardly the best advertisement. There's a good side the Fryatt no question but I'm not sure MA will think it's good enough.

Well perhaps everyone forgets to soon this guy saved us from relegation before, He scored 7-8 goals when he was Right and fit, But clearly people at leicester are losing Faith in him which is a shame, I admit i probably am a bit biast but ur right if MA doesnt have him in his plan`s he will be sold. If that does happen can`t help but think hell go elsewhere an do well? but if we get riordan and he does well it will soften the blow somewhat.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 I think with Fryatt you can tell that he has a football brain from his movement, the things he attempts and the form he showed at the end of the season before last. I think that's why most people consider that his poor performances are only a temporary loss of form rather than an indication that he is not good enough for this level. There is no comparison, really, with someone like Hammond who even on a good day doesn't really look like he knows what he's doing. Elvis's goals are generally about his speed or just because he happens to be up there, very rarely do they seem to be what I would call a striker's instinct (indeed, very rarely do they happen!). Personally, I would keep Fryatt and give him the run in the team that he needs (and possibly deserves after scoring a few pre-season). Let's not forget - he won the barbecue utensils in training!
Geo V Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Maybe I am one of many who are reading all the signs wrong!! According to MA today he was patting MF and Stearman on the back for turning up in the changing room before the Palace game to cheer the the rest of the lads on. Maybe he isnt going anywhere?! Also. Wolves did OK the other day so maybe they`ll decide they`ll go with the strikers they have?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Has anyone else realised Fryatt is shit yet or is it still just me, Thracian and Master Fox?
Raj Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Has anyone else realised Fryatt is shit yet or is it still just me, Thracian and Master Fox? Give it another month and i'll be on your bus!!! Have YOU got a Bus??? Im already on Geo's Optimistic Bus...can i be on 2 buses???
Geo V Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Give it another month and i'll be on your bus!!!Have YOU got a Bus??? Im already on Geo's Optimistic Bus...can i be on 2 buses??? Just the fact that you jest about joining another bus is enough for me as driver to kick you off the optimistic bus. Fook off with the other lads, you are not welcome aboard and forget about jumping on board when we beat Watford. "Elvis, you're always caught offside"......

Happy now!!!
Geo V Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Okay BItch,i'll stay on YOUR bus! Happy now!!! Sing the song in a Michael Jackson high pitch voice and i`ll re-consider.
Mikey Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 I Want Fryatt too stay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He will have a good career and has a good future. ALthough from what I've heard that Derek Riordan is the same sort of player, just better. If Fryatt does leave then I think we will be signing Riordan.

Right...so you want Fryatt to stay and you are wishing him the best BUT you are saying Riordan is better than Fryatt. So then you are already kicking Fryatt out and we've signed Riordan.....
Daggers Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 He was clueless most of last season - but he seemed sharper pre-season. If he gets onto the pitch, I'll cheer him. If he get's sold I'll not shed any sleep at all - as long as we buy one quality striker.
Thracian Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 The impression I get is that, good player or bad, he doesn't really want to be here.
Daggers Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 The impression I get is that, good player or bad, he doesn't really want to be here. Neither do I - but them's the breaks. I'd much rather be watching someone good.
Mort Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 The impression I get is that, good player or bad, he doesn't really want to be here. But if he did go, what will the "Matty-Fryatt Du Du Du" tendency do without that goal machine, doning the royal blue and banging the goals in!
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 Oh piss off the lot of you, you will rue the day.
Steven Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 This is an unconfirmed rumour that CL wants Fryatt on loan.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 The impression I get is that, good player or bad, he doesn't really want to be here. Agree completely... especially after watching him in the reserves Monday night.
l444ry Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 He's been a massive disappointment for this club and shows very little inclination to improve on that. His style does not suit Martin Allen's football, his workrate is questionable and he is too slow. He is just a drain on the playing budget and needs to be moved on.
Rossatron Posted 24 August 2007 Posted 24 August 2007 is this still on ? if not does that mean we wont be bringing another striker in ?
Tommy G Posted 24 August 2007 Posted 24 August 2007 I can see us not selling him....then he will hang about playing for the reserves all season whilst picking up a nice wage packet at the end of it...I would get rid of MDV first if we were to sell any of our strikers
Mort Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor wants to snap up out of favour Leicester striker Matty Fryatt. (The People) Please... Pete, please! and pay an extortionate fee to boot!
Mikey Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Right...so you want Fryatt to stay and you are wishing him the bestBUT you are saying Riordan is better than Fryatt. So then you are already kicking Fryatt out and we've signed Riordan..... Oh I don't know But I do think he is a good player and would like him to stay.
