Lovejoy Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 the best part of the football club last year was the fans, for that i reckon season tickets this year should be free Tell that to the goons at OS they'll probably post it
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 July 2007 Author Posted 10 July 2007 RN Fox on Talking Balls says we will sign both of them (one today, one tomorrow). As someone else has pointed out in that thread though they'll probably unveil them both together if not tomorrow then the day after.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 After Allen saying that Fryatt was the most impressive in training last week, winning himself a set of barbecue utensils, I doubt he will be going anywhere, because his potential has been seen. I think that Stearman could be kept as cover, and I'd like to see him stay personally beacuse he is still very young, a lot of people forget that, and he is, I think, very talented, and could be excellent if he irons out his flaws. Mattock is the one that really worries me. When he played at the end of last season we all saw how mature and powerful he was, it was hard to believe he's still in his teens. If he plays regularly I'm absolutely certain that he'll blossom into a brilliant left-back/left-midfielder. His place is here in the first team, not in the Villa second string. I still find the departure of him hard to believe though, unless we sign a left back in the next few days, I know Morfaw was training with us but he seems to have slipped off the radar. I'd be really peeved about seeing any of them leave, but I think that the move most likely to come off is Stearman, on his own, to Villa. I read in the Sunday Times in the January transfer window that he'd be one of O'Neills targets.
Pete_foxes Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Looking likely that the Clemence deal will go through, Quality signing if it does. DJ Campbell does not look as certain. I would not want us to pay anything more than 1.2mil for him apsolute tops!
Nath Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Clemence - Great signing! Campbell - Bit over priced, but he's sure to bag us goals. Funny how many people have moaned, "Why aint we spending money!"... when we are about to spend money with these two singings, they are complaining we are spending to much. pffffffft

Like you said yourself "abit overpriced" I don't have a problem with us spending lots of money, just we want good value for money. Campbell at 1.2 would be a fair price I think. I would sooner have Campbell for 1.2 then Mcleod for 2 million.

Well done Milan and Martin (if all goes well )

Moreton Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 My thoughts on the last couple of pages:Clemence would be an excellent signing and we would have a real captain on the park. Make it happen. DJ Cambell - not really bothered either way , £2 Million seems a bit steep though Fryatt - dont want him to go, I think he could be a real asset Stearman - let him go Mattock - Keep him, he has real promise and could attract an even bigger fee in a couple of years. I also agree, keep Fryatt he is capable of 20 goals a season but he just needs the right coach (Martin Allen) to push him in the right direction
Pete_foxes Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 I also agree, keep Fryatt he is capable of 20 goals a season but he just needs the right coach (Martin Allen) to push him in the right direction Yeah, would be sad to see Fryatt go, but if DJ came in & scored 20 i'd soon forget. We havent seen the best of Matty. I think we've seen good things from him. E.g. goal against Derby. But hes not been prolific.
Ben Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 I'd them both with open arms. As long as it was for a reasonable price!
Rich Fox Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 F****ING GREAT!!!I'd like to see us sign Hendrie as well but can't see that happening now. maybe the £20k per week we've saved can go towards Fowler??!! Robbie Fowler is quality and only 32 he would put bums on seats and could help our young strikers. Hope we get him instead of cambell as long as he is fit enough.
Rocky Dennis Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 I'd them both with open arms. As long as it was for a reasonable price! I agree, but why does any of us even care about the price? Its Milans money, If Milan and Martin think its good business then thats all that matters i think!
He's not bald Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 I agree, but why does any of us even care about the price? Its Milans money, If Milan and Martin think its good business then thats all that matters i think! O yea it is!....double the asking price Milan...close your eyes and pretend your name's Peter Taylor!
a-fox Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 not sure if anyone has said this yet but it just said on sky sports were signing clemence for 750k in the next 48hours.
Tomassi Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 not sure if anyone has said this yet but it just said on sky sports were signing clemence for 750k in the next 48hours. thats an absolute bargain... well done milan you have just paved your way into £300 from my bank account im getting a season ticket fo sho!
Ben Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Clemence for 750k is an absolute bargain! Good work MM and MA
Muz Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Clemence is a very good signing. Could be the missing link that we've been badly craving for in the center of the park for years. I'd prefer Dudley to Izale Mcleod , at least he's proven at this level. But I would'nt pay a million for him. I still reckon Fryatt has the potential to get 15-20 goals a season providing he gets service from midfield.
Joe. Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Allen said earlier to us he'd hoped that Clemence and Campbell would have been with us yeserday afternoon but they couldn't obviously. So on these grounds, hopefully the deal will be sealed within the next couple of days.
Maybes Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 thats an absolute bargain...well done milan you have just paved your way into £300 from my bank account im getting a season ticket fo sho! Dont you hate the guys that jump on the bandwagon
Tomassi Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Dont you hate the guys that jump on the bandwagon well ive never bought a season ticket before havnt justified the cost
MBK Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 With Clemence I think we have a promotion challenging team

Leonisco Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 What's the big deal with Clemence? He's not that good, and we've already got two ball-winners in the middle of the park (Kish and Weso).
kyleolly Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Sky sports read the speculation from the leicester mercury which also said tickets for the first game go on sale tomorrow and its looking likely to be a sell out!!! we all know the mercury is as reliable as football rumours.co.uk. Steve bruce has said we've bid for both but negotiations are still at an early stage.Leonisco clemence plays on the left hand side mate.
