Sheehan to leave on loan?

i remember it being a bad tackle? who knows, he was crap though. got beaten by their winger for their goal too and i also believe that he was told as a child that kicking the ball with his right foot would result in horrific consequences at all times

Ummmm. Last time I saw you in the hands of a young lady I was a bit worried about your staying power! :D :D

So it's you that's been sending me those emails!!!!!! :D:D

Why has Dodds come back to Leicester? He hasn't got a hope in hells chance of making the first team. He couldn't even do it last season when the only striker he had to contend with was Hume. The rest were dog mess and he still didn't make an appearance.

This season we've got the arrival of Cort, Sappleton and at least one more to come. Plus Fryatt is back to full fitness, I can't see how Dodds can be positive about breaking in to the first team. Plus, Odihambo and McKay have done themselves no harm after their tally of goals last season.

Dodds will be about 18th choice.

The reason Dodds didn't get a chance last year was because of our manager :@

Hume sounded impressed so let's hope that he keeps his suspect temperament in check and does the business.

Lets not worry about emails from people and previous history because all that does is almost make up peoples minds that he is a trouble maker before they have even seen the lad or know of him. He has joined us and has undoubted talent so lets see if playing for us can help him progress.

I'd rather get rid permanently to be honest, I have barely seen Sheehan play but once has stuck in my mind when we drew 1-1 with Crewe and his petulence and poor tackling ability got himself sent off at 1-0 down.

Although Leicester played quite well that day in a footballing sense it wasn't Sheehan's finest hour and I'm trying to think of a current City player - even such a favourite as Fryatt - who's not had a bad game.

His short first team record both in League, cup and friendly matches is excellent but I prefer to remember either his assured display against Sheffield Wednesday when we won 2-0 (the last time we beat Wednesday) or when he captained the reserves on a windy, rainy evening a Hinckley, and bent a 30 yard free kick three or four yards into the corner of the net and then smashed a near carbon copy onto the crossbar.

Sheehan had some cracking games around that time, making goals at will from the left and supporting our attacks with a real appetite.

He sounds like a promising player, but with MA and MM I doubt he'd get a place this season so going out on loan has to be the best option for both club and player.

Did anyone else read that and instantly get the words 'George Bush & Washington'

Just me then!!

Yes. ;)

It is not their fault they were given no football. Dodds had an excellent pre-season last year and the only reason Kelly didn't use our "best natural finisher" in the first team later on was because early on he preferred to pick the unfit Fryatt and later declaredly decided to "go with experience" ie Donkey Horsfield and we saw what a wonderful decision that was.

Sheehan remains the best attacking left-back I've seen at the club though I cannot judge the new signings.

It's early days but from what I've gathered so far I'd already back Dodds to score more goals and be available for more games than ever Cort will be and there's no guarantee Fryatt will still be here, sharp as he is sounding.

As people have mentioned we seem a long way from getting the 20 goals a season strikers we need and the ever understated Dodds seems unlikely to get chance to prove he can be one.

That sounds good. I'll keep ya updated on him if we get him on loan.

McAuley a great defender n you got him on a free you lucky sods. Good to hear he's doing so well tho.

think he do well at league 2 level , he did ok in the 1st team on the few times he played , had a good game vs sheff wed but fell to pieces against crewe . would like to have seen him given more games for us

Yeh, he never really broke into the team here. He would definatley do a job in League 2. Great set piece taker too

And McCauley was one of the few postives to come out of last season

Depends on if "someone" happens to have a Sheehan obsession.

Before we punt Dodds or Sheehan out for nothing i would like us to send them out on a long loan deal and see if they can improve. Something can click in some of these young footballers and they can show giant strides and go from zero to hero. If they go on loan and fail we should then get rid but only once we are 100% sure.

That is the most intelligent suggestion as to what to do with Dodds and Sheehan. If they aren't going to get games here, send them out on loans (season long, not a couple of weeks) to see what they can do. If they can succeed in playing well in League One / Two, then they deserve a chance. I've nothing against either but both need experience at a decent level, not Conference football.

Mandaric's interest in Leicester began in late summer last year, meaning he's probably never seen Dodds play, whereas he has publicly complimented (and rightly so) the academy boys from last season, he's probably got a high level of interest in the youth set up and would rather see them play than people he regards as also rans. I know that it's Allen's descision, and he'd be a fool to let them go without them being given a chance, so i think that he will loan both of them out. The two of them are still reasonably young, and from some of Allen's purchases so far I'd say he has an interest in developing footballers into more skilled and mature players (signings like Sappleton and Hayes).

If they can't cut it in the lower leagues, though, I'm afraid that it must be goodbye.
