If my mrs wants to go somewhere in Europe I don't want to go I make a list of all the football teams I want to go and watch within a 30 mile radius that normally puts her off.

Aye.

After arriving in Singapore, we began to disembark the aircraft... there was an air bridge, as you'd expect, but there was a small gap between the canopy of the bridge and the frame of the aircraft. That two inch gap provided the perfect welcome to Singapore - a bastard hot blast of the most humid air you're ever likely to experience. It was a bad sign.

When leaving the front of the terminal building to get a cab into the city itself, the doors opened and we hit a solid wall of very hot very moist air. You break a sweat almost immediately, and before you know what's hit you, you're dripping.

It's hot 'n sticky on an entirely new scale.

Do the folk of Hong Kong suffer from sweaty tom walls? I imagine it's awful for them. Do they do anything about it on their national NHS?

You're in Hong Kong? - I'm so jealous  ... I'd happily put up with the heat. I love Hong Kong - bloody amazing!

Yeah, I waxed lyrical about HK in your Florence thread. You've gotta persuade her, mate!

Hmm, was bloody hot when I was in Singapore too. Worst I've ever experienced was in Bangkok though, I decided to be a cheapskate and go during the hot season. Arrived mid-afternoon to temperatures topping 40 degrees and 95% humidity. I've been in cooler saunas, to be honest! Not nice. :sweating:

i've been to singapore before and i'm going to Honk kong for christmas but the heat is nothing compared to the philippines it was 38 degress when i went there.

I'm going to Devon in August and it's going to be 39 degrees.

The only way to keep cool is to surf.

And drink.

Beer.

Only beer.

Me too!

I've never been to any of them but I love them.

I love them because you can just buy a wife and they do everything for you.

Not like the ones over here who bitch and moan :ph34r:

The palms are swaying gently in the Erdington breeze, the warm sea is lapping against the Aston sands, the tanned Brummie beauties are sipping Tequila cocktails by the hotel pool - the West Midlands is the place to be.

My brother is currently in Saudi Arabia and the heats makes his balls sweat like a waterfall. His words, not mine. But apexgeo right , how can people complain about heat when we are currently witnessing this absolutely woeful weather here in Britain.

Sorry to piss on your parade, but that's in degrees Fahrenheit, not Celsius.

On behalf of the Teesside Independant Tourism Society, I'd like to big-up Cleveland as THE hotspot for this season's family sojourn.

We can offer:

  • En-suite nuclear power stations
  • Asbestos-filled "ghost ship" attraction
  • Middlesbrough - "the best a smackhead can get" walks
  • Pasty and pound shops to suit all tastes and pockets
  • Heady sulphuric fumes yours to inhale any time of the day
  • Stock up in the contraband ciggie capital of the UK!
  • The authentic post-war East German-design chic of Thornaby-on-Tees
  • A friendly knifing on every street corner!

Just taken the temperature from HK at 1:12am Thu (i.e. now!) and is currently bobbing around 28-29 degrees with the humidity being 80%... its ridiculous... how can I sleep in this heat?

But apart from that, its been a FAB journey so far... and if you can get your missus (Head Honcho) then go cause its so colourful and despite the heat, very enjoyable! So glad I've got another 3 and a 1/2 weeks of this! :D :D :D
