Babylon Posted 20 July 2007 Author Posted 20 July 2007 Quite right, ripped off, paid over the odds, and bought for the wrong reasons do it justice. Stop bloody moaning, none of us know how he will do... Mr Negative.
Nick Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Yeh I saw that earlier, but it actually said we'd just had a bid accepted. ah, ok, I have the sound on low as my head hurts today... Any news on that press conference- nothing on the OS yet..
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 You know that's rubbish... it's their job to give names of players, not argue with the manager about who to buy. It's quite cleary not true he was having a bubble bath.
Babylon Posted 20 July 2007 Author Posted 20 July 2007 ah, ok, I have the sound on low as my head hurts today... Any news on that press conference- nothing on the OS yet.. I suggest you look again.
Simi Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 ah, ok, I have the sound on low as my head hurts today... Any news on that press conference- nothing on the OS yet.. It's on there now.
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Stop bloody moaning, none of us know how he will do... Mr Negative. For 2.1 Million it had better be very well.
Toby or not Toby Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Will be good signing in my opinion, but i would not have paid over 1.5 million for him!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 If we do pay 2.1 million, Birmingham have made a gain of 1.6 million. Cardiff + £4.5m S****horpe + £1.9m Crewe + £££, not sure how much they spent on Varney but it can't have been much and he went for £2m. Preston + £5m-ish It's the summer of stupidity. We just have to hope DJ has his shooting boots on.
FleckneyFox Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 im so fekin excited i think its DJ because weve had lengthy talks with him and brum and Robbie hasnt been back from Aus long he'll be a good player.
Babylon Posted 20 July 2007 Author Posted 20 July 2007 It's quite cleary not true he was having a bubble bath. I know... hence my winky thingy-ma-bob.

The prices are now becoming ridiculously inflated though.
Wilkesy Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 im so fekin excited i think its DJ because weve had lengthy talks with him and brum and Robbie hasnt been back from Aus long he'll be a good player. It is quite clearly DJ, look on the Leicester Mercury website

J.Lisemore Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Leicester City will be announcing their 12th signing of the close season at a Walkers Stadium press conference at 1pm on Friday, July 20.Manager Martin Allen, Chairman Milan Mandaric and the player in question will be available for interview. i think it will be DJ campbell, but would prefer Fowler for obvious reasons either way im getting one of them on my leicester shirt if 1 signs
Babylon Posted 20 July 2007 Author Posted 20 July 2007 I think Crewe spent 50k on Varney??? £2m for Varney puts this transfer in perspective.
David Villa Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 I wish it was DJ Campbell, if he signs for us he will be one of the reasons we will do well next year hopefully anyway
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 £2m for Varney puts this transfer in perspective. But when you've recieved 16 million pounds for Darren Bent, and 7 Million pounds in parachute payments, it doesn't matter quite as much does it.
Wilkesy Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 £2m for Varney puts this transfer in perspective. Yer, i would rather have DJ than Varney anyday!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 But when you've recieved 16 million pounds for Darren Bent, and 7 Million pounds in parachute payments, it doesn't matter quite as much does it. Milan's money though innit. I don't see why everyone's getting so stressed about the fee. It is expensive but it's pretty much the going rate, he'd be going for around this fee if we hadn't been interested and it's not like we could get someone amazing for £500,000 in the current climate.
David Villa Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 and 7 Million pounds in parachute payments What are parchute payments Manwell?

It's quite easy to see why Im getting stressed. 2.1 million will be the most we pay for a player this year and in my eyes we could of done much much much better tha him at that price!
Babylon Posted 20 July 2007 Author Posted 20 July 2007 But when you've recieved 16 million pounds for Darren Bent, and 7 Million pounds in parachute payments, it doesn't matter quite as much does it. It shows it is the going rate, if you want a striker of any decent standard from England. It's not your money so stop worrying about it. It's no more of a gamble than signing Varney or Sharpe.
Simi Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 What are parchute payments Manwell? When you get relegated from the Prem you get payments.
