12th Signing

Am I the only one who finds this a silly signing? 7 forwards?

Not this again!

FFS man. 2 of these are on the transfer list, 1 is 17, 1 is very injury prone, and Fryatt looks like he may be on his way

Birmingham have signed Mido now....

Source?

Did they get him on the 1 year loan and then £5m deal?

There'll be a few on the way out before the new season starts.

Can't see DeVries sticking with us any longer and Fryatt's rumoured to be on the way out, too (Wolves?).

As for Hammond... Err...

Deduct Hume, since he's not a true striker, and we're already back to four:

Campbell

Cort

Odhiambo

Dodds

Oh, please.

Birmingham agree £6m fee for Mido

Mido has struggled for opportunities at Spurs

Birmingham have agreed a £6m deal with Spurs for striker Mido.

The 24-year-old Egyptian star had been expected to move to Birmingham on a one-year loan deal after struggling to make an impact at Spurs last season.

But now a permanent move has been struck, subject to Mido agreeing personal terms with Birmingham and passing a medical.

Mido will be Birmingham boss Steve Bruce's biggest buy of the summer so far if the deal goes through.

Mido is now further down the pecking order after Spurs signed Darren Bent.

Birmingham boss Bruce has also made an enquiry about Mido's Egypt and Spurs team-mate, Hossam Ghaly, as he looks to build on the squad that earned promotion last season.

I wonder what Iain Hume would have to say about that.

For me the words Myth and Magic come to mind.

Why not have both in the same team? Hume out wide and Fryatt down the middle.

DJ at £2.1m is a better deal than Mido at £6m.

Yeah - in that being told you wasted £2.1 mill is better than being told you've wasted £6 mill.

Nevermind me, mate. I'm just being annoying.

Thats like saying paying £3 for a pint of tesco home brew is better than paying £5 for a pint of Walkers Stadium Carlsberg.

For me, the words 'what' and 'the' and 'fook' and 'are' and 'you' and 'talking' and 'about' come to mind.

Whilst I was trying to create something outstanding with my previous post, I've now noticed you managed to do five times my amount in the same time period.

Some people just have too much spare time at hand, James.

Quality over quantity, I say.:P

Well, it is.

You're not going to enjoy either so you might as well pay less.

I think DJ will be good for us anyway.

I think that will probably be the case.

Apprently stearmen looked good along side N'Gotty in the friendlies so far nice to see him playing well again, he was a major part in the team in that spurs game one of best players that game easily. would like to see him play like that again. admited that was at RB but he still played brilliantly. However i think a new LB is still needed and im a lil worried about the fact we havent really filled the midfield and defence with any big signings. the signing today will be DJ im pretty sure about that.

DJ and Hume to start. cort and fryatt on the bench. sappleton wont play in the first team much, and de vreis if he stays will be a waste of space same as before therefore we have 4 strikers if the signing is DJ thats good we dont need anymore thanks.

Now we need to fill LB, LM and RB and then were talking!!

Surely DJ would be a better signing than Robbie...... With Robbie having been to the top he is now on his way down, although he might be ok in the short term DJ is on the up and must be hungery for sucess..... I hope Fryatt stays as well as he is only a kid and reckon that with a few decent players around him he may well rise up the scale

Says two things to me. 1) Campbell enjoyed playing for MA and is happy to play for him again which bodes well. 2) We're adding a fair bit of pace into the team with Kaabi, Chambers and Campbell, maybe the style of football won't be quite as bad as I feared.

Good signing I think. Even at that fee we're very unlikely to lose money on him.

Very happy we have signed another player and a striker at that BUT 2.1million...YIKES!!! Think we got stuck in a bidding war, bit like ebay, and although you always feel immediate dubilation for winning it, you always have a slight realisation afterwards that was it really worth it! Will DJ become a success, and for 2.1million i'm talking about more than 15goals this season! I am pleased but i'm also hoping we sign someone like Fowler or Izale too, or at least a foreign striker with a potential to score as many goals! I hope Fryatt stays though, i dont like the thought of selling a striker that might have turned out better than the overpriced one we brought in!

GOOD LUCK DJ!!!!! Be our 20 goal plus man.....please!

You're like the embarrassing drunk uncle at a party today.

I am an uncle - so technically, that's correct. Only I'm not drunk.

So discard what I said, as technically it's actually incorrect.

Only on a technicality mind.

Demonstrably (just for you Thrackyboy).
