Mickey O'Neil Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Didn't say anything about a double unveiling (I think?!) though.
MC Prussian Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Who's the 13th? I only caught the arse end on Radio Leicester. Nothing on their site. Is this our lucky Friday, with the 13th?
Simi Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Didn't say anything about a double unveiling (I think?!) though. Nothing yet in this thread. I think it would just be regarding the speculation about Fowler and that there still could be more to come.
Nick Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 No mate, what makes you think that? 1989, called Toby and from Birstall. But clearly I'm wrong! Don't worry about it!
Joe. Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 I doubt very much it'll be Fowler. It's all set to be DJ then by the looks of it. Personally I'm quite pleased
MC Prussian Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Oooh, the excitement! It's only a press conference, but let's all jump onto the bandwagon.
Flynny Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 I'd rather have McSheffrey - but I take your point. I would too, but not to the tune of another 2.4 million. Is he even likely to get a game for Brum this year? Maybe they might have sold him to us at a loss.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Why ask me that, do you actually think DJ represents value for money or something.Varney and sharp both went for less, Eastwood even went for less than that didn't he? We were linked with Job I bet he wasn't that much. And thats just putting into perspective for for you lot by using players people have suggested we sign. For 2 Million if we're talking domestically based I'd of gone for Heider Helguson. Although if you want me to start reeling off players in other countries I will happily do so. With the exception of Job, all the players you've mentioned have gone to better clubs than us.
Toby or not Toby Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 1989, called Toby and from Birstall. But clearly I'm wrong! Don't worry about it! There is another Toby in Birstall who is school year older than me so could be born in 1989, his surname is Vernon if that helps?
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 With the exception of Job, all the players you've mentioned have gone to better clubs than us. For less money Fez. Which means we could of outbid the buyers.
Thracian Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 If it is DJ this seems to be an important piece of our jigsaw. From what I can see he's managed 29 goals in 60 appearances or nearly one goal every two matches. Just as important he seems to have maintained close to that ratio at Birmingham. On that basis there's every reason to believe he can be one of the 20 goals a season strikers we desperately need. I believe Hume can reach that level too based on the increased opportunities and closer support he's likely to get. Support strikers, whoever they are, should account for more goals so, overall, there's grounds for optimism now that we can muster the 80-odd goals necessary for us to mount a promotion challenge. That's not to suggest there won't be further improvements to the team but at least DJ's arrival should mean we're in with a chance from the off.
David Villa Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Sorry about this, but im confused what time is the press conference?
Joe. Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Sorry about this, but im confused what time is the press conference? 1pm.
Toby or not Toby Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Sorry about this, but im confused what time is the press conference? 1pm mate
Alexikokopops Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Sorry about this, but im confused what time is the press conference? 1pm. There's a news piece on the OS.
The Reverend Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 For less money Fez. Which means we could of outbid the buyers. Thats irrelevant Manwell, its all about where the player wants to go, and is the player going to want to come to us or a promotion contender?
Mark Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Pricetag is a bit high but overall I'd be happy with DJ. If anything at least it shows we are competing again beating Watford who have just come down from Premiership. It's a pain that we can't seem to offload anyone
David Villa Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Hopefully Hughes will be at Hearts by the time the new season comes around
Joe. Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Pricetag is a bit high but overall I'd be happy with DJ. If anything at least it shows we are competing again beating Watford who have just come down from Premiership. It's a pain that we can't seem to offload anyone Well I think we've had the offers, Allen's just mulling them over.
Ric Flair Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Pricetag is a bit high but overall I'd be happy with DJ. If anything at least it shows we are competing again beating Watford who have just come down from Premiership. It's a pain that we can't seem to offload anyone Fryatt - £1.5 million - Preston That's the latest rumour
Kent Fox Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Thats irrelevant Manwell, its all about where the player wants to go, and is the player going to want to come to us or a promotion contender? I would think we are promotion contenders. We might not do it this season, but we are most definitely contenders.
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Thats irrelevant Manwell, its all about where the player wants to go, and is the player going to want to come to us or a promotion contender? And who says the wouldn't of come here, we don't know if we don't go in for these players do we.
