Dames Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 I prefer Can't Tell me Nothin' Stronger is good though.
The People's Hero Posted 10 September 2007 Author Posted 10 September 2007 Daft Punk > Kanye West. In fact. Daft Punk > 100KanyeWest. Or, expressed through algebra. DP > 100KW. Solve for 'y'.

Homework is a bloody great album. In fact if I could take a bassline out to dinner, I would take the one off Burnin' (track 13?, can't remember, love it though).

Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 <showing ignorance>Who is Nile Rodgers? </showing ignorance> Bassist with Chic. Good Times. I Want Your Love. Le Freak. etc Oops he was the guitarist!! A Bernard Edwards bassline then.
The People's Hero Posted 10 September 2007 Author Posted 10 September 2007 The RHCP used to do some good bass lines, back in the day like. Nothing which I think could dupe a woman in to bed though. And having read that thread, that seems to be what we're thrusting after. I don't think you can fail if you get on the dancefloor and 'thrust,' 'posture' and 'wink' to a bit of Stevie Wonder - Superstition.
The People's Hero Posted 10 September 2007 Author Posted 10 September 2007 I'd like to add at this juncture, that last time I was dancing (drunk) someone made a point of walking over and stopping me dancing and then asking me at least 6 times (as I struggled to hear) how I managed to dance so badly. Bitch!
Koke Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 The new album sounds like it was made by kids for kids, the samples are sort of harmless. And most songs sound kinda the same. Nothing against Kanye West, but he used to do better music. "College Dropout" forever. College Drop-Out was quality.
Alexikokopops Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Only Hip Hop I've found I genuinely enjoy is Jurassic 5. Is this really Hip Hop though? It seems to span a vast amount of genres, at least I always think so when listening to the various albiiii. Put this verbal dick in your mouth until I bust a nut
lildave3 Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 I prefer Can't Tell me Nothin'Stronger is good though. Homecoming is brilliant aswell.
Libertine Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Daft Punk are awesome. Discovery is a great record.
Wils Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Im not a fan of Kayne one bit. Find his music very boring and annoying.
Tommeh Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Liked his earlier album - college dropout with songs like all falls down, jesus walks etc. Songs like Goldigger and Touch the sky were good too. But his current one I've heard quite a bit and don't like at all, but I'll never label anyone else for liking it, i.e gangsters etc.
Koke Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Drive Slow featuring Paul Wall & Slow Jam featuring Twista & Jamie Foxx is one of my favorite songs by him
Cat Burger Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 The song is lyrically poor and does nothing innovative with the sample. He'll make his money from it though, milking the morose as usual.
James. Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Here's a little taster of the album by One Self I've banged on about a bit in this and other threads. The album is Children of Possibility and this is one of the standout tracks. For me this pisses all over most mainstream hip hop. And is from possibly my favourite music label, Ninja Tune.
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2007 Author Posted 18 September 2007 JTB- At Charlton, I've pencilled in a 10 minute slot for you to educate me in the ways of Hip Hop. Bring your Ipod. And wear some nice cologne!

I wear Issey Miyake. Will that do? Err that said I don't actually know if I can make the game. Have some of my non-Leicester supporting Leicester crew coming to visit this weekend. The clowns. In the meantime I can point you towards John Fezlie over there for some good Hip Hop tutorage.

Sadly it didn't have all of his tracks on there but still pretty sweet.
Alexikokopops Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 You'll pay for that Daggers you swine. When's the next match you're going to that I am also going to?
