Looking For A Positive Spin?

Thats fair enough!

I though you were suggesting you dont buy tickets because you dont like the manager.

I personally couldnt give a monkeys who the manager is, if city get a good run going then i suspect that some people on here who are gonna burn their tickets or send them back or email the club in disgust might just regret being so fickle.

On the other hand if we go on a losing run im sure Megson will get the bullet, thats football for you!!

I cant beleive how much negativity is flying around, Megson should be given a chance.

Im willing to give the guy a chance, lets face it weve all made mistakes ourselves in the past there is thread about in general chat, and forest was this guys mistake. he did a bloody good job at WBA, and to be honest a manager adapts his play to what he has in the squad, We got promoted with Micky Adams using HOOF BALL!!!!. lets do it again. Up the city is all i can say.

Unless you're willing to give him a chance, you really need to go to one of the many anti-Megson threads.

This thread IS for..

Megson takes down forest into the old division 3!

That automatically provides him with Legendary Status in my eyes!

I really wish people wouldnt even speculate on who they want and who they dont want when we are looking for managers. There shouldnt even be talk on forums. We should accept the new man, get behind him, give him till Christmas. THEN , and only then can we make an informed decision on his performance as a boss at THIS club. Talking about his previous jobs is pointless and irelevant. I used to work at teh co-op. I was shite....

It's just occurred to me that Saturday's game will be my 4th home game in a row with a different manager in charge

Derby - RK

Birmingham - NW

Watford - MA

QPR - GM

As I'm missing Stoke, I'd expect GM to be given his cards by 1st October just in time for Wolves, based on the above

As far as I'm concerned Ric hits the spot on here quite often and today he's done it again. I stayed out of the negativity that flooded the board when Megson was announced (although I can understand knee-jerk reactions, which much of those were) and have been patiently waiting for some decent posts that reflect on the appointment as opposed to react to it.

It's nipple clamp excitment but for the time being I will happily lap it up as I'm only too aware of where this club has been for the last few years.

Focussing on his tenure at Forest is pretty pointless, I'd rather refer back to two automatic promotions with West Brom. And at the end of the day if he doesn't do the job there's no doubt what will happen.

I'm just repeating Ric's post now but one point he didn't mention, and this is a potential negative, is that we may be seeing the result of Mandaric's reputation in terms of ability to appoint managers. I wouldn't jump at the chance to work for him and you do wonder to what extent other, better managers were put off by his methods and previous. Megson may well not have been first choice for Mandaric but in a way his hand may have been forced.

The only positive spin that I can currently take from this situation is that after aiding Forest's demise into English football's third tier, Megson then rubs their noses in by getting us promoted to the Premiership.

SIR GARY MEGSON?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I like Mowbray, but:

How do you reckon he'd have done taking over Little's shambolic side while 24th in division 1?

As well as Megson? No chance.

Do you think we'd even have Mowbray and be buying three milion pound players, pushing towards the prem now, if it weren't for the work Megson did?

One day, some people are gonna realise how much the bloke did for this club. Best manager in 20 years. If it weren't for him, I think we'd be around the bottom of the championship now playing to 11,000 gates. Put pride back in the club.

Sir sir sir sir Lord Gary Megson.

I really hope Mowbray can do as well as him.

re: SIR GARY MEGSON? best manager we ever had

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But surely he hadn't got the resources to do it at the top level?? That has to be taken into account when judging a manager?

I just do not think, given the resources, Megson could have done any better than he did. Best manager I've ever seen, but only been watching since 1986.

I really hope Mowbray goes on to do as well, because if he does, his style of football will tip it in his favour. However, we have to remember that Mowbray took over a good championship side. Megson had utter guff to work with, and not as much money to spend, or the wage bill available that Mowbray has.

Gary Megson changed my life

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because I never ever ever thought I'd see the chaps in the top flight and he made that happen - no-one else, he bought the players, told them to play the dull football, he was charge of that and has to take responsibility for that - in a good way.

That the premiership was a terrible experience is nowt to do with owt. We are in a better position than when he came, Peace and his predecessor must take a huge whacking slice of credit too, but what people forget is it's all about the football.

Battle of Bramall Lane, proper old skool footy that, GENIUS!

Hero, God , Sir, Lord just many words they use to describe our new manager. Maybe he did take forest down but he did a good job down at the West Brom.

I'll put you all on the bloody naughty step and you'll stay there till you develop a personality and a sense of humour. No, I meant 'each'.

I give up with you lot.

He is better then MON. He has took forest down so he's miles ahead of MON already. Megson reminds me of a young Martin Allen and if he can achieved half of what Allen did ... He will be a legend down ere.
