SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 I agree Megson should be given a chance because we all know if his not performing he will get the boot anyway
Chairman of the Bored Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Because of the job he did at forest. The guy did a very good job at west brom but will always be remembered as the guy who took forest down. I bet the fans will back him come saturday but if we go 1-0 down. You'll hear the likes of forest t**t and why the f**k did you bring this ginger muppet in milan. He doesn't take charge until Tuesday at Forest.
lildave3 Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 You're wasting your breath. The man's got ginger hair.
ASH17LCFC Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 He doesn't take charge until Tuesday at Forest. Really ?! I never knew that ... What a game to start then. Losing against forest will make him popular with the fans.

Unless im mistaken,he may have taken Forest down but Jow Kinnear did most of the damage. And im sure after GM took charge of Forest they actually went on a bit of a run(think they beat us at the Walkers!)and only narrowly got relegated. Plus it seems Forest have more internal problems than people think, hence they have been stuck in that Division and not bounced straight back up(bearing in mind Leeds have a 100% record so far!)
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Well put. And for those who sledge gingers, I have a few words for you: Julianne Moore, Isla Fisher, Geri Halliwell. Tell me you wouldn't plough them sideways.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 I gave my honest reaction that I wouldn't want Megson in a million years when his name came up in speculation. I'm disappointed that we have had to settle for a manager of a similar calibre to Nigel Worthington who very few fans wanted to stay on at the end of last season. You can't expect fans to blindly get behind anyone appointed, especially when they've invested faith in one manager already this season only to see him shoved unceremoniously out the door. I'll continue to get behind the team, in fact I'm not missing a match until November 6th, but I'd feel hypocritical to pretend I'm happy with this appointment. There are people dismissing him for simplistic reasons but I'm not one of them - personally I don't think his style of management is going to suit the fans, the players or most importantly the chairman. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Sorry for the sycophancy. Sorry if the smilies is one that pisses anyone off.

Thracian Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 This little nugget from Talking Balls is pretty positive: "Frank Burrows was, quite simply, as mad as a bag of frogs, but he was also a very able manager, and underneath that crazy visage, topped with trademark flat-cap, was a shrewd judge of player and peerless wheeler and dealer. Frank brought a number of hitherto unheard of players to the club and turned them into excellent professionals, and some into Swans greats. Des Lyttle is second only to John Cornforth as the best of the Burrows signings." And this from Brown Nose: With all the focus on Megson and Taggart, I think this fella has gone pretty unnoticed today. He's our new assistant manager. He's 63 years old, overcame kidney cancer a few years back and is vastly experienced in the game. Known as a complete nutcase who is loved by the players who've worked with him, his absence from Megson's side at Florist was notable. He rejected the job at Florist due to family reasons. The fact that he's agreed to return to football with us is significant. Albion fans report how well he was liked and what a massive influence he had on the club. He was offered a job there when Robson replaced Megson but decided to walk. Megson and Burrows only worked together for 4 full seasons. They've got two promotions, one play off place (all in the Championship) and one 'hiding to nothing' Prem relegation to their name. Not bad. Hopefully, he's still got his flat cap and outrageous 'tache. Welcome Frank, and good luck to you. Hopefully, you'll teach Taggs some things.
Strokes Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 It's ridiculous they way a lof of people have reacted to Megson's appointment. We need to be behind him and the team. Ok Milan seems to be of his head a bit, but we can't blame Megson for taking the job. He did well at West Brom and achieved twice what Milan is so desperate to do so this season. Every Manager deserves a chance, I know MA didn't get much of one but from a fans perspective we need to be behind them no matter who's in charge. Remember that day back in March 1996? I bet the truth is a lot of the managers we've been linked with wouldn't want to come to us anyway. I'm happy with the appointment, he's done well at this level before. He might not be my first choice but he's the man incharge of the team I love and I'll give him as much support as I would anyone else. We need to be open minded, any new manager should start with a clean slate and only be judged on how they do for us. If he doesn't do well then fair enough don't suport him. Why the fook should we get behind Megson? There was fook all wrong with MA but Mandy weilded his axe regardless over a personal dispute. Well i have a personal dispute with megson, not only is a Ginger CU NT he is ex Forest as well. FU CK him and MM.

Yes Burrows is apparenly loopy but all the indications show he knows what he's doing. Unfortuantley It's Megson in charge and not him.
Ric Flair Posted 14 September 2007 Author Posted 14 September 2007 Nearly convincing... I'm honoured.
