QPR Game Player Ratings...

Fulop: 6.5 (One brave and excellent save, another that didn't count, but some awful kicking).

N'Gotty 6 (Not one of his best games)

Kisnorbo 7 (Typically committed defending but someone allowed a guy free shot from in front of goal 30 yards out))

McAuley 6.5 (As above really)

Sheehan 6.5 (Well involved and generally competent but Megson managed to waste all his strengths which I should have expected given his overall contribution)

Hume 7 (Scored his second goal of the season albeit from a penalty. Was a constant menace but his corners were woeful and never threatened to beat the first defender)

Clemence 6.5 (Flitted in and out of the game but so close to an outstanding goal when he hit the bar).

Wesolowski 7.75 (Again MoM by a little way. Picked up so many of the pieces and was so reliabkle with his passing.

Porter 6 (Two or three early crosses deserved a better fate but generally had insufficient effect exept in a general suporting sense).

Campbell (Won the penalty and almost scored. Managed to be dangerous despite being only spasmodically involved).

Cort 6 (Unlucky not to score with his disallowed goal but generally unconvincing).

Subs: Chambers 3 (Seeminglhy lost on the right wing).

Kishishev 3 (what did he offer or contribute in coming on?)

Megson 0 (cost us the game with his indefensible and inexplicable substitutions and tactics once we took the lead).

HANG ON! You said you were NEVER going to watch us again under Mandaric!

Hume 8

Clemence 7.5

Wesolowski 8 MOTM

Porter 5.5, drifted out of the game far too often

Campbell 6, simply doesn't contribute enough

Cort 7.5, solid until he tired and was left on the pitch too long

===============

Megson: I am entirely with Thracian on this one - stupid substitutions. The wrong time, the wrong people. Ridiculous. I hope this is the last time we see him make such a mistake.

Posted

The subs sounded stupid to everyone listening.

Judging by the reactions of those who actually watched the match, they looked even more stupid.

One can only hope that this is the result of the confusion that can be caused when one management team picks the starting eleven and the new, incoming management team attempts to adjust it later in the game - without the benefit of knowing the squad intimately. As opposed to being an underlying affinity for defensiveness on the behalf of the new management team.

I guess we'll see in the next couple of games where the new management team really places itself. If the substitutions go the same way, we should all worry.

Fulop: 7 (One brave and excellent save, another that didn't count, but some awful kicking). Kicking was bad but not awful.

N'Gotty 6 (Not one of his best games) Agreed.

Kisnorbo 7 (Typically committed defending but someone allowed a guy free shot from in front of goal 30 yards out)) Agreed

McAuley 7 (As above really) Won lots of headers.

Sheehan 6.5 (Well involved and generally competent but Megson managed to waste all his strengths which I should have expected given his overall contribution) He was alright on the ball.

Hume 7.5 Scored his second goal of the season albeit from a penalty. Was a constant menace but his corners were woeful and never threatened to beat the first defender) I thought his set pieces were good.

Clemence 6.5 (Flitted in and out of the game but so close to an outstanding goal when he hit the bar). Agreed

Wesolowski 7.75 (Again MoM by a little way. Picked up so many of the pieces and was so reliabkle with his passing. Agreed

Porter 6 (Two or three early crosses deserved a better fate but generally had insufficient effect exept in a general suporting sense).

Agreed

Campbell 7 (Won the penalty and almost scored. Managed to be dangerous despite being only spasmodically involved). Made things happen.

Cort 5 (Unlucky not to score with his disallowed goal but generally unconvincing). Just crap really. Didn't think i would say this but should have played De Vris. Poor.

Subs: Chambers 3 (Seeminglhy lost on the right wing). Agreed

Kishishev 3 (what did he offer or contribute in coming on?) Agreed very negitive tatics.

Megson 0 (cost us the game with his indefensible and inexplicable substitutions and tactics once we took the lead). Oh No. Please go.

Fulop 7 very little to do until the end. a couple of dodgy kicks but kept us in it at the death.

sheehan 6 ok but not great. Looks better going forward than defending.

n'gotty 5 His worst performance to date. Dreadful 1st half better 2nd. poor distribution.

mcauley 6 Nearly gave away a penalty and deservedly booked. lack of pace a real concern.

kisnorbo 7 Pretty good game. Still can't pass though.

clemence 7 Thought he led by example. unlucky not to score.

weso 7 Again average to good performance. A high numeber of successful tackles and high workrate

porter 6 Not as bad as people make out. Got in some good positions but final ball not good enough.

hume 7 not very effective. played far too deep. Well taken penalty.

cort 4 whatever must devries think. Ok he won a few headers but he was slow and generally added nothing to open play. Unlucky though to have a good goal dissallowed.

DJ 4 waste of time. he should have put the game beyond reach but he is starting to look the Akinbyi of this side. His 1st touch is poor. He showed no understanding of how cort played and failed to read any of his flicks. Workrate low. Won a penalty with an excellent dive. Should have scored but took too long and allowed the defender to get back and clear off the line.

subs

chambers 5 not too clever. not convinced by him at all.

kishishev 2 useless even in the small amounbt of time he was on. missed several tackles and gave the ball away. hope he never plays again.

management 0

Team selection a mystery. devries has done well so far so he's replaced by Cort who doesn't look match fit and offered next to nothing. What has gone on on the trainig ground. Cort and DJ showed no understanding at all.

Megson's substitutions lost us the win. 1-0 up against very poor opponents so he goes all defensive for the last 15 mins. 8 defensive outfield players! This is how he played it at WBA so we shall have to get used to it.

Fulop: 8.5 Great between the sticks today. Especially in the air.

N'Gotty: 6.5 Solid enough.

Kisnorbo: 7.5 Won most things, had a good game.

Mcauley: 7.5 See Kisnorbo.

Sheehan: 6.5 OK.

Hume: 7.5 100% effort as always, good balls into the box, coolly taken penno.

Porter: 6 Didn't seem to want to beat his man in the 1st half. 2nd half got better.

Clemence: 7 Got better as the game went on, never wasted a pass. Screamer of a shot at the end.

Weso: 7 Worked his socks off as usual.

DJ: 8 Good performance tody from him, needs a consistent partnership.

Cort: 5 Didn't do much, held the ball up ok but sometimes looked like he couldn't be bothered.

All in all I think we deserved to win the match. ;)

Just out of interest, what level of input did Megson have on today's substitutions?

I noticed one of the coaches instigating the Cort/De Vries swap.

Well he was camped in the technical area and is quoted as saying he wanted to be fully involved. He may not have chosen the particular players, would he know who was who but I can't believe he did not determine the type i.e. defensive for attacking. Apart from anything else both WBA & Forest fans vouch for that as his standard approach.

Fulop - 7 (he stands on his line far too much for my liking, especially when a cross comes into the 6 yard box)

N'Gotty - 6 (not a right back, get Chambers in ASAP)

McAuley - 6.5

Kisnorbo - 7

Sheehan - 6 (not bad, it would've been more if he hadn't been skinned twice in the last 5 minutes which could have cost us goals - where was his lethal left foot for corners/free-kicks though?)

Porter - 5 (rubbish - no end product at all, poor crossing and decision making - get rid)

Wesolowski - 7

Clemence - 7

Hume - 6.5 (improved after his goal, some good crosses and through balls at the end - still don't think he's the answer at right midfield)

Cort - 6 (although that's being kind - his first half performance was very good but his second half performance was scandalous - he should've been subbed after 60 minutes when he was clearly knackered)

Campbell - 7 (looked our most dangerous threat but consistently failed to read Cort's flick-ons in the first half)

Subs - not worth the bother

Megson - 0 - awful substitutions and negative tactics which most of us feared. Holding onto 1-0 leads is never going to work for Leicester. Never. The sooner he realises this and starts to attack to score 2/3 goals the better. Defensive overload on the bench with Chambers and Kishishev - and what on earth was Newton doing on the bench ahead of Kaebi/Fryatt/Farreira?

Fulop - 8 - Made some match saving saves right at the end.

N'Gotty - 6 - Just seem too hoof it up all the while.

McAuley - 7 - alright nothing speical.

Kisnorbo - 6 - thought kissa was poor today.

Sheehan - 5 - Why is he in the first team ? Over the top tackle as usual in the first half.

Hume - 7 - Tried and tried. Well taken peno. Crap corners though.

Porter - 4 - Not a winger.

Clem - 6 - Fancy dan.

Weso - 7 - Worked hard.

Cort - 5- Needs game i reckon.

DJ - 5 - Waste of money, not good enough, always offside.

Megson -2 - Cost us the game with his silly let defend really deep tatic.

I think the ratings have been far too high overall. We were utterly abysmal today and we were lucky not to get beaten yet again by a team that were even more pisspoor than us. Yet again our midfield was shockingly bad. Anyway, for what it's worth here's my scores:

Fulop - 8 - MOM. Thank heavens we've found a decent goalkeeper at last.

N'Gotty - 6 - Had a solid, if unimpressive, game.

McAuley - 6 - Made some timely interceptions, but no great shakes today and did a lot of punting about.

Kisnorbo - 7 - The best of the bunch at the back but nowhere the standard we've come to expect from him.

Sheehan - 5 - Too many silly errors.

Hume - 5 - Anonymous for most of the game. Good penalty though, calm as you like.

Porter - 2 - His worst game by far. Was truly dreadful today.

Clem - 5 - Lots of huffing and puffing (particularly at the referee) but not much else. Could have redeemed himself had his screamer of a shot gone in at the end.

Weso - 4 - Like hume was AWOL for the majority of the game.

Cort - 1 - ****ing awful. What was the point??

DJ - 4 - Let far too many chances go begging. Has got to start sticking the ball in the net. That's what he's ****ing well here for.

Subs - Not on long enough to make any difference.

Smegson - 0 - Stood around with his hands in his pockets and did **** all. Filbert could have made a better job of the substitutions. Needs to buck his ideas up and fast.

Officals - 0 - Where on earth do they get these clowns?

Megson -2 - Cost us the game with his silly let defend really deep tatic.

On RL after the game I'm sure he condemned our defend deep approach.

I am no apologist for gary megson but lets see how his teams approach such instances and not hang him after 1 full day at the club.

but when you have 8 defensive players and one totally knacker striker on the pitch how else are they going to play?

I don't disagree with you davie, I am just questioning how much influence he had in selecting the matchday squad and the ongoing substitutions. If he was guided by Rudkin and Beaglehole, he may well be looking to replace them.

If he made the choices then he's in the wrong.

If he makes those choices when he fully knows the players then we are in trouble.

Fulop 8 - Please snap him up before someone poaches him. Absolute quality and my MOM.

N'Gotty 6.5 - I think this guy may inadvertently cause us selection problems! He is a solid defender but we have better right backs but i cant see our management dropping one of McAuley, Kisnorbo and Bruno so all three will end up playing.

McAuley 7.5 - The best defender on the bitch. Great blocks and reading of the game but almost got sent off.

Kisnorbo 7 - Did OK but wasn't at his best. Maybe jetlag is to blame for this one?

Sheehan 6 - Unconvincing and 3 steps down for what Clarke was bringing us.

Porter 5 - Lacked confidence, didnt seem to help out Sheehan much but going forward was poor.

Weso 6 - Not his best game. Didnt link up with the forwards and was at times miles away from the strikers, especially in the first half.

Clemence 7 - Solid if not spectacular. Nearly won us the game at the end.

Hume 7 - Another "problem" player. We are trying to accommodate him in the side in midfield instead of playing him upfront and like Bruno and the other two CB`s inclusion, it does throw the balance of the side a touch and at times takes a little away from our forward play. There is no doubt about his quality so he has to play but we need to learn from the England National team on this one, dont neccasrily play your best 11 players but play the best balanced team from what is available, even if that means DJ, Cort of whoever is dropped.

DJ 7 - Would have had a better rating if he had (a) performed in the first half (b) Wasnt haule doff by Megson with 20 mins to go after looking quality in 2nd half.

Cort 5 - Woeful performance. He should have had one or two more reserve games before being thrust into the first team, especially when MDv has been doing OK and also the fact that Fryatt is looking sharp in the reserves and scoring.

Chambers 6 -Would like to see him have a run at RB as this lad can tackle and has some serious pace. Would give balance but today out of position.

Kish 6 - A couple of flying tackles but we cant play him, Clem and Weso in the same side. Coming on for Levi threw the balance of teh side IMO.

De Vries - No rating, only on for about 2 mins lol

Megson 3 - Apparently the coaches selected the side as he didnt know who was in-form which I though was strange so on that basis, he shouldn't have been involved with the substitutions. I wont repeat what I put on another thread apart from to say that his substitutions were both wrong and too defensive hence his starting score as manager.

Fulop 8 comanding great 1 on 1 stop too, sign him if possible

N'Gotty 6 had enough of him as a right back now, if Stearman had made some of the aimless punts upfield he's of got no end of stick

McAuley 7 dominant in the air some vital challenges/interceptions

Kisnorbo 6 also guilty of aimless hoofs, otyherwise solid defensively

Sheehan 6 solid, should of got forward more

Hume 7 not really involved enough but when he was he was brilliant

Weso 8 when he got the ball and ran at them we looked dangerous, needs to demand the ball more

Clem 6 couple of good tackles but needs to leave free kicks in a shooting position to the likes of sheehan

Porter 5 poor crossing, worse corners and couldn't bearsed to chase for the ball, thats when he wasn't bottling it

DJ 6 Offside far too much and it cost us a goal

Cort 6 not fit, started but faded FAST, should of gone off after an hour

Fulop 8* MOM - Superb stops towards the end and incredible sticky gloves

N'Gotty 5 - Thought he had a shocker. Was a touch of the pace and distribution was terrible

Sheehan 6 - Steady

Kisnorbo 7 - Faultless once more

McAuley 7 - Thought he was our second best performer

Hume 6 - Glimpses of bits and bobs but not his best

Porter 3 - Shocking afternoon. He cant deliver. He cant get by the defender and is too small for this standard. Sorry lad - rubbish

Clemence 6 - Worst performance I have seen from him as yet. Where was the structure and the positioning from the midfield towards the end Skipper?

Wes0 - 6 Once again, seemed to struggle 2nd half but turning in better performances this season than last

Campbell 7.5 - Looked dangerous. Always had their back 4 worried. One disallowed. One luckily kept off the line and won the penalty. Was pizzed off at being subbed which shows he wants it.

Cort 5 - Promising start but turned in a tired donkey appearance after. Games will help him.

You are either an abject idiot, have recently suffered from an horrific trauma to the head or do serious drugs. In any event, I suggest you seek medical treatment at the earliest opportunity.

Those ratings are a joke.
