Chairman of the Bored Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Would this be a sensible tactic? Offer them thanks for the Clarkey abandonment? 0-1 and then start playing? Would it bollocks!
Brainy Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 I can't even believe people are suggesting it.
Thracian Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 I'd be far happier if we don't let em score at all.
Dr The Singh Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 In a playground match, yes!! But this match has money involved etc, I doubt it!!!!!!!
Ashley Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Today's another day...... DONT LET THEM SCORE FROM THE START FGS
Vardinhio Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 I really don't want to tempt fate but imagine if a scenario arises where one of their players gets ill at some point and we were winning. It would be a crazy scenario and I don't know what would happen but imagine that. Very dubious!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 18 September 2007 Author Posted 18 September 2007 What a shit thread. Why? It has been done before.
Joe. Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Why? It has been done before. Because it's just never going to happen.
Blue Bob Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 I would suppose this is the sporting thing to do, however if we lost by that goal it would be a stupid gamble. If you were confident of scoring 2 fair enough but I think we havnt made that good a start to the season to think we can score freely. **** 'em, it is Forest after all - would they do it for us, would they b*llocks!!!!
Kent Fox Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Megson will want to seriously impress tonight. I foresee a very attack minded team and a scoreline of 4-0. Maybe 4-1 depending on who is in goal.
Pete_foxes Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 That'd be silly to do that, the fans would be up in arms if we decided to do that. Ask yourself the question, if it were the other way round. E.g. were 1-0 up then one of there players have a heart attack would they do the same? I think not
Chairman of the Bored Posted 18 September 2007 Author Posted 18 September 2007 Because it's just never going to happen. Stay away from those tea leaves buddy.
Brainy Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 It's not a shit thread.. We didn't let Plymouth score against us a few years back so why would we do the same against FOREST?
AyewJoking Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 We'll let them score in stoppage time at the end of the game, we're good at that. By the way, wasnt it the refs decision to abandon the game? Calderwood may not have argued but he wouldnt want to look like a tit would he?
DB11 Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 It is a sporting thing to do but when so much money and pride etc. is at place I hope that the players do not think about it and the manager does not suggest it. If they scored from the off, however, regardless of whether the players let them people would still think that they did, regardless.
filbertway Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 I think it would be a fair thing to do, after all, they did have the advantage when the game ended last time, I wouldn't be dissapointed if we did let them score, at least it shows we are a sporting team. Also we would have 90 minutes to get back into it rather than 45 minutes.
Matt Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Let's turn the table's, Ask yourself the question would they/or another team do the same for us, I would say 9 times out of 10 no. I doubt it, Therefore don't see why we should. It's not as if we faked Clarke's heart attack(s), It's not as if we threw the game, It's not as if we wanted the situation to happen, I'd rather us have lost than what happened but it didn't and we have a second chance. If I was in Forest's position i'd have been just as pissed of as them but you have to realise a player nearly died, and to be honest if I was in Forest's position I wouldn't be expecting any favors.
He's not bald Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Megson will want to seriously impress tonight. I foresee a very attack minded team and a scoreline of 4-0. Maybe 4-1 depending on who is in goal. That sounds better, let's get 4-0 up with a couple of minutes to go and then give them their goal back!
Milky Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Well blow me down with a feather. We've only gone and bloody done it!
AyewJoking Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Its funny people are taking this seriously. Of course we shouldnt let them score and the fact they were winning the last game 1-0 means sod all. Jesus wept!
klg Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 Thats ok for all them people who bet on a first goal scorer then
Fox in a Box Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 good sportsmanship... we'll win on pens.
Samilktray Posted 18 September 2007 Posted 18 September 2007 So how did we go about letting them score then ? Was it just added to the scoreline automatically or did we let them run through and score I hope it wasnt the latter
