maddog Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 In 4 days time we will be on our way to Villa. Cup competitions are key to build up the team's confidence but after the awful performance v Charlton and now just a point above relegation we need to concentrate on league. I do enjoy the cup though and am looking forward to this one. Surprisingly i think Leicester will get something from here as we always seem to raise our game, play better and look like we want it more against Premiership sides. Or results against Prem teams have been good in last few years 3-2 win v Tottenhan 1-1 draw v Fulham 4-3 loss to Fulham bit unlucky from 3-1 up 2-2 draw v Villa, extra time did us Im sure there was another prem team in there but can't remember, think it may have been Bolton and we lost in extra time there too not sure though Im gonna go for a 1-1 draw for this one, and we will lose on extra time again.

Chances are we are gonna get batterd at Villa. We have nothing on the wings unless we try to play Kaebi and Ferraira. If we don't play them we aint gonna get the crosses in and score goals, Our strikers are struggling and our manager is telling the players to play defensive shit football. 3-0 Villa
Brainy Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 I was expecting a good performance, but after today.
Flexx Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 We should play this for Villa -----------------------------------------Fulop Chambers-------------------N'Gotty-------------------Kisnorbo------------Mattock Kaabi--------------------Kishishev----------------------Clemence----------Ferreira -----------------------------Hume----------------------Campbell

Now villa reads better!
wurmer Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 If we play as badly against V***a as we did against Charlton, they are gonna murder us. I mean a thrashing as bad as Arsenals thrashing of the Sheep Molesters today (which was the only highlight of today btw)
C-man Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 We'll only take 4000 max now to Villa, after today. We'll get beat 3 or 4-1.
Mark Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Ferreria, Kaebi, Djezeri, just get them in the team so we have a fair idea who is half decent and who's not. There is no better opportunity and no risk involved, and you never know it might surprise Villa. If we play as badly against V***a as we did against Charlton, they are gonna murder us. Don't worry on todays evidence Megson will go there trying to keep the loss down to as minimum amount of goals as possible, forgetting there are 1000's of travelling fans going to see us play football.
Daggers Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 It's not if we'll lose, it's how we lose. We have a great opportunity for fit players to stake a claim in a starting line-up. As Mark said, get these foreign talents in the team - let's see what they can do. No defensive nonsense, let's go for the win...so there's no place for stodgy Kish & Sticks.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 We'll only take 4000 max now to Villa, after today. We have already sold that amount and the tickets have yet to go on general sale.

MADLEVEIN Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 villa will be a nice game to say to the players who havent pulled their weight today, your dropped, and let others players play for a place on saturday.
dog_4 Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 if we're bad here and bad against stoke, megson has to go already i'm afraid. he's too negative
JoeyB Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 At least we'll find out by Monday night's Reserve match whether Megson has any plans to do so. I think if were going to have a go against villa, we need to start the game with the team that ended the game against villa! And go straight out of the blocks and attack them! The only way we will beat villa is if we keep attacking them, if we sit back and let the pace of ablonlahoar(however you spell it), Young and moore come at us, then were going to get destroyed!

I kind of agree but if we are too gung-ho they will just run in behind our defence.

Thracian Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 It's time to shape our future and attempt to play a genuine passing side. Fulop; Chambers, N'Gotty, Kishishev, Sheehan; Kaebi, King, Clemence, Porter; Hume, DeVries. Subs: Stearman, Ferreira, Mattock, Cort, Fryatt. With Weso missing that's about the best pass and move side I can come up with. I'd like to see how the multi-capped Kishishev fares at centre-back because what we've got doesn't work and he, like N'Gotty, pass the ball out calmly and accurately. King is included yet again because he has to be better than Chambers in that position and poses much more of a creative threat. Our attack still bothers me but Kaebi and Hume should ensure we have enough pace and Porter's return should offer the balance we missed in the closing stages against QPR, the second half at Forest and the whole game today. PS: And put Beaglehole/Stowell back in charge.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 I'm sorry Thrac but Kishishev at centre-half  , we aren't that desperate.
Thracian Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 I'm sorry Thrac but Kishishev at centre-half  , we aren't that desperate. I thought Kishishev had experience of playing centre-back but, if not, the alternative to me is Stearman. I'm just not impressed with Kisnorbo/McAuley.
Trumpet Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Waheyyyyyy if your all going villa clap your ands! or If you could get your money back, you would clap your hands.

Don't think anyone else would choose much of a different team. It's a nicely balanced team, that should do some damage (although McAuley Vs Kisnorbo is a bit of a tricky one- I guess they're both pretty much equal and N'Gotty has to start in my view). Of course, we won't see it though (I say that in the vain hope that I'll be proven wrong).
Nath Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 10 buses sold for this game by yesterday. (Apparently) Not sure after today's sales
Dames Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 Watch us chalk up a cracking performance like we always do against the bigger teams. Then we will revert to the same old story in the league. Edit: Didn't see this thread and im quite tired, Thanks Admin.
maddog Posted 23 September 2007 Author Posted 23 September 2007 We have to face we are in deep trouble now. I know people are saying stop going on about MA but i can't stop. He was a great guy, likeable by all the fans and had got the players motivated and playing attacking football hence the 4-1 win against the league leaders. Milan sacked him and there is just no replacement for him. Megson is just a completely different type of manager, looking to play defensive football and try not to concede goals, then not even attack when 2-0 down. Ill give Megson the Stoke and Wolves home games and if we don't at least take 4 points from those 2 he needs to go. There is no truely no replacement for Allen There is only one Martin Allen.
