foxes_fan Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 Saw Levi tonight outside Marz in town and must say he is looking on the chubby side. Asked him how life was under Megson and he said it's going well, also asked him what he thought about the Allen situation and all i got from him was, "I'm sad he's gone, i found out on my day off" That is all....
Dames Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 Get used to it he'll be out every weekend getting wankered. 'He's just a young lad' - The excuse people always make up for him. Personally being a professional athelete and all i reckon he should earn the right to go out and party.
Thracian Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 Well Levi wasn't to blame for yesterday. And we were leading when he ent off against QPR. Why not pick on someone else's lifestyle? There's more to get your teeth into.
Steven Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 Well Levi wasn't to blame for yesterday. And we were leading when he ent off against QPR. Why not pick on someone else's lifestyle? There's more to get your teeth into. Exactly. Starting with yesterday's players.

There's more to get your teeth into. I disagree. If he'd have played well in training he could have been playing and scored the three goals that we needed. Get rid I say.

Don't footballers have enough time off already?

If he'd had played well in training it would probably make no difference. Like many others at the club (including ALL the wingers signed in recent months) he is not among Megson's chosen men.

There's more to get your teeth into. But it starts with the basics, surely? And the basics are that if you are a professional athlete, you should not be going out and getting hammered. One of the sacrifices they have to make for the ludicrous wages they are paid.
Geo V Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 But it starts with the basics, surely? And the basics are that if you are a professional athlete, you should not be going out and getting hammered. One of the sacrifices they have to make for the ludicrous wages they are paid. I know the George Bests of this world and the players from the past decades are used to getting wankered and almost gloat about it but its a misconception to think that the modern day players dont go out about town and get plastered on a saturday night. Some of the old school players would turn up on matchday like we may have done on a sunday morning for amateur footy (the stench of booze in the small changing rooms was always memorable ) but lets not think that players like the captain of our nation doesn't regularly go out and get hammered because he does. Ive mentioned it before but Ive seen plenty out on the town in London so we need to get some sort of perspective about judging players who go out for a beer after the game. Stevie Walsh anyone??!! :worship:

foxes_fan Posted 23 September 2007 Author Posted 23 September 2007 Also another thing i forgot to add he said he was injured.
Koke Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 You should speak to the people who know Levi. He NEVER gets plastered except when he's entitled to. Do you know Levi?
filbertway Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 It'd be better if it read as ... "Levi Porter on the game"
Hullfox Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 I know a second year professional at a Championship club who has taken the attitude that he won't drink at all. Even at private parties he stays on the J2O. If you ask him why, he'll tell you that he feels he's lucky to have been given the opportunity of playing football and it's a small sacrifice to make. I know who I think has got it right.

Well i go out on the razz and I still perform well at Sainsbury's.
Asha Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 Well i go out on the razz and I still perform well at Sainsbury's. Well you're not competing against anyone/thing. And its not like there's 20000 people watching you at any one time. I think that shows he's passionate enough. Personally i'd rather have alcohol than devote to my job. But saying that, I don't have one.

It doesn't matter though - Porter has the ability to play at a higher level. Can you imagine a team of Levi Porters? It would rip this division apart, even with 4 pints consumed between them.

In fact, he'll provide the solution to England's left sided problem.
