Monk Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Any London team away would be great as I'll be able to go.Though I'd take an easier tie so we can progress further. Can't see us beating arsenal in all fairness

Can't see us beating arsenal in all fairness Why not? At least 75% of people on here thought we'd be taught a lesson last night and how wrong / negative they were.. I think that the prospect of playing a Top 4 team at their place will be enough motivation to go out and grind out a narrow victory.

Manwell Pablo Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Not overly bothered. A home game would be good as I wouldn't have to book any time off. Have to say Luton at home if forced, the big day out can wait till the quarters.

You are a rare commodity on this forum as am I. And about another 13 people who have kept the faith (I still prefer that to the one team BS), and shown as much support for MM and GM as we can possibly muster.. But even the hardiest of doubters will be / should be more positive after last night, and especially if we do the job against Stokyo.
Monk Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 But even the hardiest of doubters will be / should be more positive after last night, and especially if we do the job against Stokyo. I am not one of the hardest of doubters. It only took a) going to the charlton game b) watch match of the day where Villa were awesome to make most people feel we were going to get trounced. I like you am over the moon about the result, but we all know too well about what happened after the spurs game last year. I'll save my praises for Megson and wait and see how we play on Saturday its really a game we should win.

I could argue that the poor performance against Charlton was due to the hard F****t game and the same might be said against Stoke. I predict a boring draw if teh players are knackered. Or perhaps this is the game to try out Kaebi and Ferriera. Same format, different players. At least it would give GM more options if it works, and more ideas if it doesn't.

A couple of the players looked tired at Charlton, but I think they were OK. Agreed, it would be good to see some fresh faces on saturday. For me, a Wednesday game is not an excuse to perform badly on the Saturday. If they're tired, get them fit (cough, cort, cough), and in the mean time play some of the other squillions of people we have in the squad.

I'd be surprised if you could pick an XI from our squad to put in a worse performance than the one against Charlton.
lcfc4780 Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Cov away please, lets get rid of the other midlanders on the way to wembley!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Down south please. What are the options? Arsenal away would be perfect. West Ham would be good too.

The People's Hero Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Are Maidstone still in it? Nope. Maidstone aren't a league side so don't get invited, sadly. FA CUP though.....
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Nope.Maidstone aren't a league side so don't get invited, sadly. FA CUP though..... Tottenham or Chelsea would be fine too. Definitely don't want anything like Blackburn, Bolton or Cardiff away, that'd be a nightmare. Would take Sheffield United though.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Is there a list anywhere of the teams left in it? I just went to the BBC's results page and had a look at the last couple of days.
Fox in a Box Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal Tottenham Manchester City Blackburn Rovers Everton Portsmouth West Ham Bolton Sheffield United Cardiff Luton Leicester Blackpool Coventry *I'd like anyone apart from Sheff Utd, Cardiff, Bolton or Blackburn Rovers....
Dr The Singh Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Arsenal away, just to see what there stadium is like!!!
The People's Hero Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Luton away would be a laugh. Yeah. And we'd (hopefully) beat them.
Ric Flair Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Luton away is a decent trip, the pub you could hauled in straight from the train station is a shit hole though.
