FilboFox Posted 4 October 2007 Posted 4 October 2007 Its now or never... Sheffield Wednesday are a poor team and have started badly... if we can't beat one of the very few teams below us in the league, we're stuffed! COME ON LEICESTER!!!
Raj Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Tis too early for MUST win games surely. Although we must win on Saturday to avoid losing!
Fat Ron Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 It wont be a disaster to lose this game but it would certainly dent the confidence. We have to remember that Megson hasn't really been able to stamp his authority on the side, he hasn't signed any players yet and is still learning about the players he inherited from Allen (and before anyone say's it, the squad was apparently no where near fit when Megson came in so players haven't been performing to their best) All this talk of a six pointer game and must win is not helping the situation, people come on here and read your posts then go to the football believing what you have put. That's why the team gets booed off and puts more pressure on the players and Manager. Crystal Palace were down the bottom of the league in December a few years back but won promotion... So its not impossible just bloody difficult, but we need to aid the cause by supporting them and not adding any extra pressure just because you want your say.
Micky Ruddle Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 I can't see us beating Sheff Wed. Maybe a draw at the most.
Ric Flair Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 I hate getting a bad result before an International Break, it's horrible. We've not won in the league for 5 games now, we need one now. We have a fairly poor record up at Hillsborough against them, but they have been dreadful this season. If Clemence is still injured, then Graham Kavanagh will have the easiest days work ahead of him for quite some time. I think Andy King would be relish playing alongside Clemence, Chambers and Kishishev just won't give him the support he needs. I hope that Hume is dropped in to midfield as well, with Cort and Fryatt through the middle. That's our best chance of taking 3 points off Wednesday. I'd be over the moon if we manage to score 2 goals or more tomorrow, it would be a rare treat.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 hahahahah. Not since the days of Allen have Leicester scored two away goals! Well that's incorrect for a start.
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Well that's incorrect for a start. Cough! In the league obviously.
Koke Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 We love draws too ****ing much. We'll draw with them.
Geo V Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Apart from Watford, our better results this season have been away from home,. especially in the cup and we should have beaten Palace if it wasn't for their flukey goal in the 93rd minute. I have full confidence that we will beat Sheff Weds by a mere 3-0. Time to start the optimistic bus again.
Dames Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Well that's incorrect for a start. Didn't we get two against Palace ?
Ultra Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 It wont be a disaster to lose this game but it would certainly dent the confidence. They looked fit enough to me during the Watford game. And perhaps Watford might have thought so too...
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Didn't we get two against Palace ? yeah we got three against Forest as well.
Dames Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 yeah we got three against Forest as well. Oh yeah, i was thinking about the League.
ithuriel Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 fact of the matter is the league after this many games does not lie , we are already in a relegation scrap and this is a six pointer and megson should know enough about his squad now to be able to win a league game. he can talk a good game but its the points that count at the end of the day.
Fat Ron Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Oh really? They looked fit enough to me during the Watford game. And perhaps Watford might have thought so too... Sorry Ultra, quote from the Meeting apparently from Milan himself.
Ultra Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Sorry Ultra, quote from the Meeting apparently from Milan himself. Oh, right. If that's what he's said, then it must be true..
Thracian Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Can't see any of this aids my intention to be optimistic but if we can beat Villa... From This is Leicestershire website: Captain Lee Bullen has warned Leicester City to expect a different Sheffield Wednesday following the arrival of loan signings Graham Kavanagh and Michael Johnson. Defender Johnson has joined from Derby until the end of this month while Kavanagh, whose performance for Wigan towards the end of their promotion campaign was one of the best individual displays at the Walkers Stadium in recent seasons, has signed from Sunderland. The arrival of the experienced pair has signalled a change in Wednesday's fortunes. They lost their opening six games but have since taken two wins from the last three fixtures. And Bullen believes the duo have brought a calming authority as well as leadership to the Wednesday team. Bullen, who is expected to return to the starting line-up against City at Hillsborough tomorrow after injury, said: "What you can see immediately is the calming influence the two lads have had at the right times in games. "At half-time and after the game, they are not scared to point fingers if they think players aren't pulling their weight. "In the past, we have been accused of being a relatively quiet team but they have brought a vocal nature into the camp." After their poor start, Wednesday won two of their last three league games before a 2-1 defeat against Watford in midweek. And Bullen has targeted a victory tomorrow that will lift Wednesday above City in the Championship table. Bullen said: "It's still tight down there. Another win will see us rise above Leicester and head towards the middle of the table." Wednesday manager Brian Laws could be boosted by the return from injury of striker Francis Jeffers, defender Richard Wood and goalkeeper Lee Grant. They will, however, be without winger Jermaine Johnson, who is suspended after being sent off during the defeat against Watford.
ASH17LCFC Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 I reckon we will go their and attack straight from the off. He will resort to 4-4-2 and even when we go 1-nil up Megson will demand another 2 goals. He will leave 2 players up front when they have a corner and tell the midfield to push forward everytime they get a chance.
rob-blue-fox Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 well as it looks like we are going to be this seasons draw specialists,i think it will end up 1-1 or 2-2
dandannieldanok Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 yeah we got three against Forest as well. Under GM not Allen.
mancunianfox Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 well as it looks like we are going to be this seasons draw specialists,i think it will end up 1-1 or 2-2 Maybe 1-1 but I really think it would take a pretty special side to put two past us at the minute.
mancunianfox Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 According to the BBC Wednesday have eight first team players out Second-botton Sheffield Wednesday could be without eight first-team players for the visit of Leicester. Francis Jeffers, Richard Wood, Steve Watson, Wade Small, Richard Hinds, Frank Simek, Tommy Spurr and Akpo Sodje are all doubtful with various injuries. Pity Whelan or Kavanagh aren't out too.
ASH17LCFC Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 If we go 1 down though, its not like we have a great chance of getting back in the game is it ? Like villa, we had a plan and it worked but say villa had got 1 early on. We would had been fooked. Why playing 3 -5 -2 isnt going to work in the championship. Its good to use in the premiership but in this league you need to attack more often then not.
