AoWW Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 19k is alot of money for unskilled work, if they get much more they'll be on the same as proffs like teaching. And as Lisa has pointed out, if I were a teacher I'd be pretty miffed about that. I might even go on strike Now there's a thought!
The People's Hero Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I'm seriously considering being a postman. We're due to strike again next Monday. Seems you only have to work about 50 days a year or something. Oh to be part of a union and a grossly over-powered and militant one at that.

The People's Hero Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 go for it if you think you could manage that much you'd miss the verbal swordplay with thracian and ultra though Quite frankly, it's more like I'm armed with the razor sharp blade of my wit whilst Thracian cluthes at a limp French stick and Ultra throws some (self-written) love letters at me. I didn't realise they were on £19k. I'll do that job. Our postman is fu cking shit and he never seems to lose his sodding job.
Babylon Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 most posties do a bl**dy good job ; out in all weathers , being confronted on a daily basis by irresponsible householder's nasty dogs ; delivering mail into letterboxes that seem to be set with bear trap springs etc etc , i don't know if the 19k figure is true or just a big adam crozier lie (what does he get btw?) but no doubt some of the workshy layabouts "posting" on here all day make similar amounts or more and if not , they get off fat computer bound arses and become a postie if they think its so ****ing brilliant i've never been a postie but i delivered the yellow pages for a couple of weeks and i can say its bl**dy hard work Lets pay paper boys and girls 19k a year because they do the same job.
Kent Fox Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Lets pay paper boys and girls 19k a year because they do the same job. Don't forget the parcel delivery peeps. They often have to wait for some old codger to open the door before letting his starving dog out... Postman can post and run. Delivery drivers have to stand there with a dog hanging off their leg, getting a fcuking signature.. And people moan when the parcels are 'placed nice and carefully' over the side gate..
The People's Hero Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I bet the Poles would do it twice as quick for half that money. Tossers the lot of ' em.
Kent Fox Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I bet the Poles would do it twice as quick for half that money.Tossers the lot of ' em. They'd do it quicker but you'd get the wrong post.
The People's Hero Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 They'd do it quicker but you'd get the wrong post. I get the wrong post anyway. Hence my comment 'they'd do it quicker'. Every postman I've had (at 5 addresses now) has been a useless tosser.
Kent Fox Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I get the wrong post anyway.Hence my comment 'they'd do it quicker'. Every postman I've had (at 5 addresses now) has been a useless tosser. I am beginning to see some similarities here...

Working as a binman I got minimum wage, which equates to just under £10300 a year. Most of the people were on about £12500 grand. If that figure of £19k is true then they can quit their complaining.
The People's Hero Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 perhaps you have had the same postman at all 5 addresses ; ask your partner/girlfriend if there is something you need to talk about perhaps youre not delivering the goods Maybe not. But I don't get paid £19k not to deliver goods. Whereas postmen do!

Kent Fox Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Ultra's your postie. Each time he gets the wink, he re-applys his make-up and dresses up as someone else. *snigger*

Kent Fox Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Posties are on 19k starting wage I can gurantee that, my old man was on about doing it beacuse it's easy and well payed. All together now.. Oh, your old man's a postie, He wears a postie's hat....
stez Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Now there's a thought! aye, it won't be long 'til the teachers start moaning too.
The People's Hero Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I like how posties say 'I go to work everyday come rain or shine'. Firstly. No you don't you go to work everyday come rain or shine except when you can't be arsed in which case you strike. Secondly. Do they think that most people get out of bed, look out the window and think YESSS rain today, I don't have to go to work. Fu ckwits.
Maybes Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 All together now..Oh, your old man's a postie, He wears a postie's hat.... He likes to put the en(ve)lopes, in his little red rucksack

Maybes Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Mate at work told me that his mate is a postman and hes on 19k a year.
Daggers Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 £19,000 a year There's more to life than this you know, But not much more.
