Reserves tonight.....

He could have been playing Reserve team football in Portugal, instead he gets to do it here whilst experiencing the English winter, odd.

Where is Marcus Watson? He's been here a month and not played a single academy or reserve match. Makes me wonder what are we playing at with these players? :|

Perhaps Megson isnt playing these players because he is lulling the opposition into a false sense of security. You see we are shizer now so when teams come to the Walkers, they come for 3 points not for a draw. Megson will use this to his advantage and unleash Sapplezilla, Kaebi, Ferreria and Marcus Watson. This will result in us panning every team at home for the rest of the season and also a playoff place :whistle:

No Kenton, Maybury or Kaebi!! Probably means that Stearman and Mcauley are struggling to be fit. Is kaebi injured because he didnt play last week either? Thought he were going to be in s****horpe squad but sadly not!

Maybe he'll be in the squad tomorrow night. Where is Djeziri/Hellings too, injured??

I'm going to get shot down for saying this but I'd like to see Maybury play at wing-back against Sheffield United, one last chance to prove his worth.

I agree because I don't think he was total garbage last season. He deserves a second chance.

He was a damned good attacking right-back before we messed him about, I entirely agree. Defensively sound, good on the overlap, could cross well from deep and had a decent long-shot on him on occasion too.

He was very impressive when he first arrived but his confidence has been totally shattered since and he wouldn't be ready.

I would like to see Kenton.

I think he is very strong and good defensively.

He can attack as we have seen on several occasions including Norwich last year (I think) where he scored in virtually the 1st minute but we still lost after a Mcauley own goal.

He is also very fast and would do a good job if Stearman is not fit.

I know my suggestion of using Maybury might be a bit daft but Kenton, fast :o, you're having a laugh lol

Leicester City's reserve side were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline as they fell to Coventry City in the Pontin's Central League on Monday evening.

Both teams had chances to open the scoring, with Billy McKay and Ashley Chambers coming close for the home side before Leon Best saw his volley dip over the bar.

Aryan De Zeeuw gifted the lead to the Foxes on twelve minutes when a low cross from Jonathan Hayes saw the Coventry defender turn the ball into his own net.

Leon Best had an opportunity to equalise for the Sky Blues soon afterwards, but goalkeeper Carl Pentney was equal to the strike and managed to turn the effort away for a corner.

But it was Best who put Coventry back on level terms just before the break. Donovan Simmonds headed a deep cross from the right back across goal for the striker to tap in from close range.

City were undone for a second time ten minutes after the break; this time a similar move saw Best in the right place to grab his second of the evening.

After a series of squandered chances by the visitors, it was the Foxes who levelled fifteen minutes from time when Ricky Sappleton latched onto a through ball from Billy McKay to fire home past Dimi Konstantopoulos.

Sappleton was in the thick of the action moments later when a quick turn and pass set up Robbie Burns who saw his long range effort edge just wide of the post.

But it was Coventry who would grab the winner two minutes into stoppage time as Khali Fadiga found space to turn in the box before slotting the ball past Carl Pentney.

City's second string return to Pontin's League action next Monday (29th) when they travel to Shrewsbury Town.

City: Pentney, Cox, Cobb, Howard, Magunda (Kee 45), Garner, Ferreira (Burns 58), McKay, Sappleton, Chambers, Hayes (C King 88)

Unused Subs: Tuttle

Ferreira subbed early again! Thats not good to hear.

lol about Maybury. He makes far too many individual errors and its ironic some are calling for his inclusion when we have a five-a-side team (and subs) full of right-backs!

Chambers in the obvious answer for right back. To me it is his best position.

Maybury has had some reasonable games for the reserves but hardly looks like the future. Or Kenton who's been poor at full-back when I've seen him.

Seemed like a woefully inexperienced team out last night considering the massive squad we've got

As indicated by the disturbing number of goals against once more.

Crikey, Cov played a first team. Not a bad result considering the opposition.

Oh and @ Maybury, I agree wholeheartedly, never thought he was that bad last season when I saw him and he certainly was alright when we first got him and before he came.

Chambers should definitely be playing at right back - he's a very good player there in the Championship.

Lets get Sappers in too. I like a bit of Sappers.

I'd rather Sappers in there than Cort. I'd like to see whether Sappers would be as lethers in the first team as he is in the rezzers.

Fun as it might be - depending on which Sappleton turned up - it ain't gonna happen.

I wonder what Megson makes of him? From what i've seen of Sappleton he's so rough around the edges, it would be a massive gamble to pick him for the first team. But he's the sort of player that could do well, he's a natural finisher. Can hold the ball up well when he's finally got the ball under control and defenders don't have an easy game against him.

He's highly rated by our coaches from what I gather, I forget he's still onlt 17 when I look at him. QPR fans have said that he and Ray Jones were in the reserves together a few years ago, Jones being a year or two older than Sappleton. Both best of mates and were the next big things to emerge, Jones went on to put in some superb first team performances for QPR whilst Sappleton was released for reasons not 100% known. But the QPR fans are mostly in agreement that Sappleton was the better of the two at Youth and Reserve Level and they still think he'll make it and be a quality player.

From what i've seen of Cort this season and then what i've seen of Big Reneil, albeit at different levels. I'd rather take a punt on Sappleton than have Cort wasting a space on the bench. Obviously McKay and Chambers are doing well, but they are different sorts of players and we do need a target man as an alternative option.

So between Cort & Sappleton, get the lad in.
