Remember Korea came 4th in the 2002 World Cup. Iraq went to the Olympics and beat the likes of Ronaldo’s Portugal in 2004. Australia who can boast of some of the best players in the EPL failed to make it past the Quarterfinals in the Asian Cup.

Also some very good players have emerged out of Asian football, and have proven themselves on all European levels, again kind of hurting your assumption that Asian football is “Rubbish”.

Like I already said anyone is capable of having a good game, just because he has a couple of ok games doesn't mean he has the right to walk into a premier league team!!! Northern Ireland beat England... doesn't mean there players are actually any good!!!!

But if you play top international teams and more than hold your own every time you do, it shows that you have something to offer. Off the top of my head I can think of Iran-Germany game in Iran, in which he certainly held his own. Iran-Mexico, Iran-Portugal, Iran-Korea (right after they came 4th in the world cup). So every time he was given a chance he proved his worth, he has taken it. Now you come and, without actually watching him have a single full run out with the squad, call him “shit”. I assure you I have followed him since he was 16 and he is anything but “shit”.

I haven't noticed Dodds being in particularly outstanding form of late. His goals ratio was high for the first month of the season but has dropped off since and I wouldn't dream of making a case for him here, particularly with the arrival of John.

In fact since he hinted that he'd rather play at Lincoln I've all but forgotten him and was only mentioning the DavieG yesterday the irony of Sheehan turning down a move to Lincoln and staying to fight for a first team place as against Dodds' decision to move.

With the poor form of our strikers Dodds might well have at least forced a place on the bench had he stayed but he didn't and, sadly, could now look be destined for oblivion.

He's clearly in a poor side and, although he keeps hitting the woodwork and remains top scorer, it won't help him playing among poor players where goalscoring chances are likely to be limited. His agent should be telling him that too.

If Kaebi's not been picked yet, then hes obviously not up to it. If Shaun Newton is getting the nod ahead of him then I can't see him getting in the squad at all. I understand everyones frustration at not seeing him play me included in that. But if the manager don't think hes good enough then he obviously isnt up to much if he can't get in over Newton. Seems a shame though considering all the hype around him.

Yep, have considered it and yes possibly he isn't, the fact is we don't know. We do know however that Srearman isn't good enough by far, so he has to be worth a risk (can't be any worse can he?).

I am specifically talking about Iran here also, not the whole of Asia. I never mentioned EVERY team in asia. I mentioned Iran!!!! I do agree. I really don't care too much about this whole Kaebi bandwagon. I wish the best for him, but I'm sure his opportunity will come. Its James Chambers who should be the number one right-wing back anyway.

And besides, the poor lad was hyped up so much at his arrival that a lot of people are probably gonna end up disappointed when they realize he is no Daniel Alves or Emmanuel Eboue and he can't end the Middle East cisis or the poverty in Africa.
