lookwhaticando Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 It's Joe Royle. Unveiled on Thursday. For those wondering about my source or my sauce, I don't have any... see the sweepstake threads to unravel my statement, if you wish.
Yaxx Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Well I hope MM's got someone good lined up because I cannot see that the guy did much wrong. True, but we seemed to run out of ideas against Colchester today and his substitutions didn't really come to much. And we were not exactly thrashing Barnsley last week either. As thrilling as it was, you can't really count the game against Chelsea as for some reason we always seem to play better against that type of opposition. After all, even during the dark days of Levein we managed a cracking result against Tottenham. We need somebody who can galvanize the team and achieve some kind of consistency to our play. We're far to erratic at the moment, and that was evident even in today's game. One minute we look as though we're totally dominating the game and likely to win, the next we're desperately hanging on for a draw. Quite who we can get in to achieve that I really don't know.

Who did he have to bring on as a game-changing substitute? The worst thing about City's performance today was not Burrows/Taggart it was looking at MM's long face in the stand.
Finn Claw Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 In my view burrows has done okay, What we need (and I think MM wants) is someone who has proven that they can spend money well, Megson for all his faults was that sort of man. we will end up with an established person

Bert Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Whoever gets the job, someone out there won't happy whether it be Burrows or someone else.
hebangsthedrums Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Whoever gets the job, someone out there won't happy whether it be Burrows or someone else. Exactly. Quite funny today - to my left was one guy bitching about Fryatt for 90 mins and 5 people in front another bitching about DJ for 90 mins. After about 10 mins they must have heard a bit of each other and then traded vague insults for the rest of the game 'I cant believe people rate that willy puller Fryatt', 'Campbell is fooking abysmal, what TOSSERS were happy with that signing' etc.
dog_4 Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 we had four defenders playing in midfield today, i don't think that helped. January needs to come fast so that we can add some quality to midfield, our only week spot
Master Fox Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 I actually really like Burrows. I'm sure why but i do.

Rocky Dennis Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 It's Joe Royle. Unveiled on Thursday. For those wondering about my source or my sauce, I don't have any... see the sweepstake threads to unravel my statement, if you wish. Why Thursday, if you're so sure???

Mikey Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 Midfield will be so much better when we get Clem, Weso and Hume back. Those 3 plus 3 center-backs and Fulop are our main players.

Have you really seen enough of Burrows to write him off like this? Do you not think we may be "erratic" because we've had 3 different managers this season? I don't like the way you (and others on here) dismiss our last 3 results - "we ran out of ideas against Colchester", yeah but we got a useful point away from home after a tiring game against Chelsea - "you can't count the game against Chelsea", err yes you can - "we were not exactly thrashing Barnsley", we won 2-0 at home for f**k's sake! Personally I don't think Mandaric will give Burrows the job, I still think Dowie will end up here (unless I've missed some news recently putting him out of the running). That doesn't mean I wouldn't be happy with Burrows/Taggart, I actually think they could do a job, plenty of experience combined with, dare I say it, passion. It's more a reflection of Mandaric's methods and the short termist attitude within Leicester and football in general that tells me it we'll have a 4th manager this season.
Bryn Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 Midfield will be so much better when we get Clem, Weso and Hume back. Those 3 plus 3 center-backs and Fulop are our main players. I don't think Hume would get into my side if we were at full strength, he'd certainly be in contention but if I were managing the next game and the squad were fully fit, he'd be on the bench, Fulop N'Gotty McAuley KisnorboChambers------------------------------SheehanWesolowski ClemenceFryattCampbell JohnSubs: Henderson, Mattock, Stearman, Hume, Cort Thought that formation looked decent last night, especially given the players at our disposal. On topic, I really see no reason to force Burrows out of the job just yet. We aren't going up this season and Burrows hasn't done anything wrong at all in my opinion. I'd leave him in there for the time being, keep judging his progress.

I think we need to make the most of our energetic players. Fair enough if we were going to carry on being a set piece team you'd stick Cort and Sheehan in there but I think we have the players to play some high-tempo stuff and get at teams even using three centre backs.

Looks good to me and I was thinking we could keep Newton on as the kit man..but he'd probably hand the out shirts to the opposition or infact anyone who happened to be in range at the time!
The Stig Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 I'f be happy with Burrows, Grayson, Jewell, Dowie, Jol, Jose etc. Wouldn't be too happy with Royle but I'm pretty sure it will be him.
