Solihullfox Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 Just checked the fixtures for the Christmas run up. Would I be the only one thinking OMG we could have a real problem come the New Year. We could really struggle to pick up points through the whole month of December.
Leicester Lass Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 Southampton (H) Burnley (A) West Brom (H) Ipswich (A) Hull (A) Wolves (A) Ipswich (H) Charlton (H)
Koke Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 What is it? WBA, Soton and Wolves? EDIT: My bad, LL just provided it.
ASH17LCFC Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 Why we so worried ? We got the mighty Carl Cort ... If we don't have are midfield sorted by then, then we are gonna be in aload of trouble because Kenton and Chambers will not win us games

Ultra Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 Southampton (H)Burnley (A) West Brom (H) Ipswich (A) Hull (A) Wolves (A) Ipswich (H) Charlton (H) Hey, we won SIX of those games last season. And that was with Rob Kelly in charge!
Thracian Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 Hey, we won SIX of those games last season. And that was with Rob Kelly in charge! I don't see that programme as any harder than any other spell. Indeed we have a habit of playing better against supposedly better sides anyway. On top of that we may well get a few of our crocks mended and, with our strikers starting to show some form there's every hope we might do okay. Even with our weakened side it's not as if we've been clinging on to matches. We've had chances to win every one. With any luck Chambers will settle quickly into the right wing-back role and our specialist midfielders will return to give our team balance and cohesion. If we can start getting some threat from the right to go with sheehan's from the left - and if our midfield can support our improving stikers more closely I can only see improvement ahead. Pity Porter's out though. He does add to our options off the bench and one can only hope that Hayes reports fit for work sometime soon.
Monk Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 I think we should stand outside the stadium on Saturday and sing the 12 days of Ormondroyd before kick off. That'll solve all our problems. Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiive ORMONDROYDS
Simi Posted 7 November 2007 Posted 7 November 2007 This is crunch time for the new manger I'd imagine. He should have himself comfy by then, with his ideas in there. We shall see. We can certainly take points from those games, no doubt.
Flynny Posted 7 November 2007 Posted 7 November 2007 Is it just me who thinks we've gradually improved of late and should very slowly start to ascend once the midfield's back? Not massively, I don't think, but lower-top half seems about where we should be right now.
SamL Posted 7 November 2007 Posted 7 November 2007 IF we have our midfielders fit, the manager has settled in well and has found a suitable formation that fits the players, I don't see why we can't pick up atleast 18 points out of the 24 available. That sort of form could see us in the top 6 at christmas It's a crunch period as to the outcome of our season but hopefully we can get through it and be in a fairly strong position going into the new year.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 November 2007 Posted 7 November 2007 Is it just me who thinks we've gradually improved of late and should very slowly start to ascend once the midfield's back? Not massively, I don't think, but lower-top half seems about where we should be right now. Our problem before was creativity. We've solved that by cutting out the midfield completely in recent weeks and fielding three strikers who are making chances for themselves or scoring from set pieces. It depends whether Clemence and Wesolowski are able to improve their service to the strikers because as good as they are on the ball and when tackling the opposition, they haven't provided enough in terms of goal threat yet. Hopefully by then they will find it tough to win their places back. King hasn't done a lot wrong for one and we've got results lately without them.
Master Fox Posted 7 November 2007 Posted 7 November 2007 The quality of teams and football in this league is as poor as it’s ever been. Most of the teams in this league are appalling, so there’s no real reason why should be worried. Any average team in this league with a bit of luck will do well. We’ll scrape through those fixtures like we always do, win, lose, draw, draw, lose ….etc

When I see Weso and Clemence play, I just always feel that there is something lacking. That little bit of creativity, little bit of flair. Both of them seem to just do there job well. With us playing Fryatt or DJ behind the two strikers it actually offers us some different ideas. Although when Fryatt gets in and around that area he looks lost, usually takes to many touches then gives it away! I still think Hume suits that role out of all the players we've got. ------------N Gotty-----Kisnorbo--------McAuely Chambers-------------------------------------------Sheehan -----------------Weso------------Clemence ----------------------------Hume -------------------Fryatt/Cort------DJ

Bryn Posted 7 November 2007 Posted 7 November 2007 It's all about Hull away - should be a cracker. Hope to meet some of you there, if I get the cash to buy a ticket.
