Super Arj Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 The forum is all excited about the players we buy in January but i feel the topic needs to be started about who to get rid of in January, and for how much my list follows Elvis Hammond - Free Ricky Sappleton( dont tell him i posted this he might eat me ) - 400k DJ Campbell - 1.5 m Jimmy Neilsen - Free Alan Maybury - 100k Sergio Hellings - 150k I know Carl Cort isnt there, thats because I think he works hard, but is having a bad season... time for improvment Post your Views

Why sell a young prospect like him and keep a player like Cort who is a sick note and playing poor ?
Ultra Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 A lot of players are on long-term contracts. As Martin Allen found, this often means they won't move unless they have to. Mandaric may have to pay some of them off to get them away from the club.

I think every fan would like us to offload certain players but if Leicester City are paying them over the odds and they don't want to move then they've every right to turn up for training and draw their wages. That being the case, you'd think we'd check out every signing directly and with the utmost diligence but this does not seem to be have been the case. If it was then some of those signings were beyond easy explanation.

He's about the only passable striker we have at the moment! Far better to sell Fryatt IMHO, you wont get those kind of figures for the likes of Maybury and Hellings but both can and should be sold - meanwhile I'd also see if anyone was daft enough to plum for Stearz and Logan. And I'd be seriously tempted to recall DeVries and Kish.

Right now I'd let any of the following leave for free to free up some the wage bill Neilson Mayberry Kisihev Devries Cort Newton Hellings Not sure who we have on loan at the moment but send Ferrari and Adda back if they haven't gone already I'f someone offers good money for Stearman I'd sell him, Silly money for Mattock and i'd let him go too. If we sign fulop i'd let Henderson go

If at the end of the season Cort still hasn't scored many I don't think he'll be here.

They're not on OS any more so presume they've gone.

reynard Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Personally I would accept any reasonable offer for absolutely any of our players. The stark truth should be obvious to all. Not a single one of our players is good enough for the premier league and 95% of them will not get us into the playoffs next season or the one after that. Our youngsters are vastly overrated and simply don't look good enough to make the break through into a permenant 1st team place. except for trying yet again to avoid relegation this season is over. Who would come here I really can't imagine but basically we need a complete new team.
