Fox You Forest Posted 11 December 2007 Posted 11 December 2007 Do you think we can get anything from games going into new year?Hull - Away Wolves - Away Ipswich - Home Charlton - Home I think maximum of 5 points there for us and then Janurary comes........ I think 6 personally
sdb Posted 11 December 2007 Posted 11 December 2007 we lost to the best home team in the league after a shocking refereeing decision so lets not get all miserable and moan constantly for the next week. things will pick up. PMA PMA!!!
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 11 December 2007 Posted 11 December 2007 "I have every sympathy with Leicester. It didn't look like a penalty and the red card was harsh as well," said Town boss."If they are appealing over the red card then we will support them but that said, I thought we controlled the game. From Jim Magilton. Nice one

From Jim Magilton. Nice to hear, at least he's honest. Still doesn't take away the defeat, but the only thing we can possibly gain out of this now, is a successful appeal from Kisnorbo's red card.
AoWW Posted 11 December 2007 Posted 11 December 2007 Let's see all the "The referee lost that game for us" post's then Er, but he did.
Thracian Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Ratings from an Ipswich PaperThey suggest a pretty even game, also in a different story Magilton admits they got lucky with the Pen and sending off. The Ipswich ratings put the game into context. Seems to me that the match was 100% ruined by the officials. There was every suggestion that City were playing far better than they had first half against Burnley and, while Ipswich were perhaps enjoying more possession and a few more serious chances, Leicester had equalised and were putting some decent football together. Holloway had tried hard to be positive. It was never going to be perfect with five changes, but we had held our own and suddenly we've copped a joker from the officials. Video replays would have proved it but the truth is we've had the result falsely decided by outside parties and with the football authority's blessing because they refuse to take the steps which would enable fair decisions to be made on vital issues . As a result Holloway's become the bogeyman. And the reaction by our own fans is not going to do an already reeling club, players and manager any good. Nor is the criticism justified. Indeed after what has happened, the players and manager need lifting not kicking some more. They've already been kicked in the bollocks by the referee and his assistant. Then kicked again for good measure. Indeed it made me sick to hear of security staff protecting those officials, They should have buggered off and let the officials face the flak they'd created. I've said before how I cannot understand how officials can give things which don't actually happen. I can see how they don't give certain things because they are unsure that they happened or because they were unsighted and couldn't see clearly. But I cannot understand how they give things they are supposed to be sure of when they don't take place. How? And if they don't KNOW they shouldn't give. The clues were there today anyway. Because the referee signalled for a corner. He must have signalled because of what he saw. He's not supposed to guess. And what he saw wasn't a penalty or a sending off. His assistant supposedly sees something quite different and signals a penalty. But. if two officials see totally different things there is doubt by definition. And if there is doubt you shouldn't go around giving penalties. Furthermore the mistake for the penalty was only compounded by the mistake for the sending off and the reaction issue by Kisnorbo was irrelevent. Reaction was inevitable. So much shit is talked about retaliation. If a country declares war on another, the threatened country reacts, however dignified and right-thinking its statesmen might wish to be considered. In effect the officials attacked Leicester with no justification whatsoever. They can hardly expect people not to respond. Yet while all this has occured OUR fans subject OUR players and manager to a public pillorying. Our anger should be directed at the people who willfully and wrongly ruined the game. And then we should show our manager and fans that we are right behind them. At least that's what I shall do so long as they stay positive and don't lose their nerve just because of an unjustified setback.
BedsFox Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 It was clearly a horrific decision for the sending off and penalty but I feel we would have lost anyway In Danny Haynes they had a terrific young player, skinned Mattock for the first goal, and the third came down that flank too I was encouraged by Kaebi, thought Hume was playing much better again but remain tremendously disppointed by Clemence..misplacing easy passes etc
Rodders Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Holloway's been strangely quiet. Thought he'd have said something about the game by now but I can't find anything.
bigboy Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Be honest who would want to come to this club now? Not anybody thats any good!
coale39 Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Holloway's been strangely quiet.Thought he'd have said something about the game by now but I can't find anything. Hes obviously very disappointed. Not doubt there will be something there in the morning. I feel sorry for Ian, I really do.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Er, but he did. It was the linesman who gave the penalty and told the ref to send Kisnorbo off, the ref actually gave a corner.
Bert Posted 12 December 2007 Author Posted 12 December 2007 It was the linesman who gave the penalty and told the ref to send Kisnorbo off, the ref actually gave a corner. The ref still sent him off though. He can always over-rule the lino, as we've seen many a time.
PAULCFC Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 He's been on SSN saying that the officials got it wrong on 4 counts. Not a foul, not in the box, should have been a corner....and can't remember the last one!To be fair listening to it at work we sounded pretty good till the linesman f++ked up.
Ultra Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Come on, he's only in nottingham. We can find him! In which case, he deserves to be shot!! There is NO excuse whatsoever for his behaviour tonight. He should face a lengthy ban until he's proved himself capable of learning the basic laws of the game. But knowing the fcukwits at the FA, he'll probably be fast-tracked for promotion into the Premier League, even Europe!
Ultra Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Be honest who would want to come to this club now? Not anybody thats any good! I'm sure Ollie can inspire them, with his talk of a push for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy..
Manager Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 He's been on SSN saying that the officials got it wrong on 4 counts. Not a foul, not in the box, should have been a corner....and can't remember the last one! Allowing his "Assistant" overrule a decision he had already taken, I think.
oggie Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 They say decisions even out over a season, so no-one should be looking for excuses other than what the players ( and manager) do on the pitch. However, an imbalance in this argument can be brought about by the necessary luck element that defines play-off or relegation places. Unless/until Holloway gets to grips with the current players a bottom 3 placing awaits by the January window - what will be his bargaining power then, I wonder?
MPH Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Be honest who would want to come to this club now? Not anybody thats any good! they'll just see milans £'s and be forming a long line ...

teblin Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 [We need to get 2 wins maybe a draw too out of the 4 games between now and the new year, at least. though maybe with a few players back and ollie saying that the team looked more balanced we can do this, hopefully.
Bluemoon Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 they'll just see milans £'s and be forming a long line ... What, sent up from the dole office? ..young wannabe's and old has beens like Ernie Settle
Linekaaaah Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Even Jim Magilton didn't think it was a penalty, and has said (quoted in todays Mirror) that he'll be will to back us if we appeal against the red card. Anyway, it was a joke decision. The ref wasn't gonna give anything, then the linesman flags, and we're 2-1 down, down to 10 men and the game's effectively over for us. Up until that point we were playing well, holding our own and never really looked like we were gonna come out of the game with less than a point. After that, well, we were royally fcuked. As for the jokers who keep pointing at Ollie and asking for his head - what the hell is wrong with ya? He's come into a new job with another man's team, and he can't do anything except the best with what he's got for now. We've had two horrible decisions which have severely influenced two of the last four games (we would have got a point from yesterday's game AND the home game to S'oton at least imo) so i'm not particularly unhappy with anything Ollie has done, although his wide-eyed optimism at our dismal performance (for most of the game) against WBA was a little mystifying. Sorry, but I can't enthuse about 75 minutes of rubbish and 15 minutes of decent football (that still resulted in us losing.) Just get off his back. See what he does in January, and what happens after that, and if we're still getting the same crummy results, THEN call for his head. But at least let him do something with the team before we hang, draw and quarter the guy.

As the old cliche goes, these things even themselves out come the end of the season, so I'm looking forward to many undeserved and unjustified penalties coming our way.
