richy2704 Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Hi childish Plymouth based question. It seems that you think you have a right to be in the premiership and because we are pasty munching yokels we dont, you also maintain you are bigger and therefore better. My question is this would you be able to compete at this level on our budget? We dont have any where near the money for players or wages we dont have the facilities but since coming into the league have consistenly done better than you(and alot of other teams) I think if you were to get relegated, I know its early in the season but if MM keeps losing managers (and I do beleive he will sack Holloway by February) you will not be able to get the level of manager or players you deserve. Also if you do go down, do you think MM would stay around and if not would you survive. Truthfully I didnt think you would go down up untill I read IH interviews and the seemingly total lack of results, openly criticising your fans and players never seems to work, now i think you have real problems three more games before the transfer window opens potentially nine points to lose and if you are bottom three who will want to come to you. I am happy with our little club, no real media coverage down here, turned over all last seasons relegated premiership clubs in ther own grounds so far and no one will even notice us sneak up to the premiership. Well maybe.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 The difference is we are an underperforming club considering the facilities and the fanbase. Plenty of other clubs out there are in the same boat. But your club isn't one of them, so shut your face.

What are your hopes the season then?
Daz.I Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 I think we wouldn't survive at all no. IH wont get the sack IMO after he's spent his money we'll start playing pretty decent,Plymouth have always been floating around the championship and yes doing better than us but I think thats all plymouth will ever be a mid table championship side not going up not going down. you do well with what money you have. MM I honestly believe he'd stay with us for some reason. Yes the only plus side to 3 more games to january is that everyone is expecting us to lose all three to be honest so anything we grab in between would be a bonus.bit of banter mate wether we're lower half of the table or not your still gonna get a arse whopping when you come down to our fortress
Jordan Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 My question is this would you be able to compete at this level on our budget? If Leicester didn't have the money to waste on compensation packages for sacked managers, wages for useless players and enough cash to make sure 13 new players arrive in the offseason, they'd probably be in a much better situation than they are now

Well maybe. In all fairness, we've probably had a similar budget to you lot for the last 2 years or so- **** all! We could be in very big trouble come January, but we're not all pessimistic. Look how tight the league is. If we'd of won we'd be 15th, 2 wins in a row and we are out of it - but its not lookinglikely we are going to get any wins at the moment - but it-ll change - Holloway wil get his own players in, clearout the shite and hopefully take us onwards and upwards. As for you lot, you have done ever so well with what you have, and good luck to you, we have more important things to worry about at the minute though!
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 We'll see how Ollie goes when he poaches your players.
richy2704 Posted 16 December 2007 Author Posted 16 December 2007 I dont think they will come to you, Luggy will wack such a premium on them you wont think it financially viable.

Bryn Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 There's more Plymouth fans than Leicester fans on here at the minute.
Matt Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 I dont think they will come to you, Luggy will wack such a premium on them you wont think it financially viable. But on the other hand (And i'm not sure what the situation is, I have heard alot of the Plymouth players have alot of respect for Ollie, equally i've heard some are relieved he's gone) but i'd imagine 1 or 2 at the very least have alot of respect for Ollie, and if we put a bid in for those players and you reject the offer, there gonna wanna join up with Ollie i'd have though, and what's the point in having players that don't really want to be at Plymouth? Just another scenario to the arguement.

City Lad Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 To be fair, our club is more expensive to run than Plymouth. Our players are payed more (which is a scandal in its self) and stuff like that. But before Mandy came, we were on a budget similar or worse than Plymouth's. But we are going down this season if we dont use our 'big' budget (if it exists) in the transfer market.
shrood Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 What a stupid question. Look at the league table, we're barely competing at the moment so it's hardly likely we'd do much better on a smaller budget (although the money that was spent was almost completely wasted so arguably we'd be in pretty much the same position.) However, you ask the question as if you're implying Leicester is a club that has only succeeded due to having large resources in relation to clubs around them. That's just not true, on numerous occasions we've been promoted to the top division on small budgets and have acheieved good things while there despite having resources that pale in comparison with those around us.
Fox92 Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 it's December, doesn't matter where we are now it's where we are in May that matters... Agreed, just look at what happened to Crystal Palace when they were in our position in December several years ago.
davieG Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Agreed, just look at what happened to Crystal Palace when they were in our position in December several years ago. Citing a once in a blue moon occurence doesn't alleviate the concern that many have!

Master Fox Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Agreed, just look at what happened to Crystal Palace when they were in our position in December several years ago. Why are you writing your posts in bold? Does that make you think you're better than rest of us or something?
