The Reverend Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 How much will he get to spend then? However much it is, i dont think we'll be told.
He's not bald Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 However much it is, i dont think we'll be told. Next to nothing..the same as Allen had!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Next to nothing..the same as Allen had! I think HNB has a point - MA didn't exactly push the boat out with the money he spent. I think we would be better getting a couple of premiership players who have fallen out of favour at their clubs on loan until the end of the season. That will help us avoid relegation far more than spending money on lower league potential. Write this season off as a bad one and build the team proper next summer.
WetFlannel Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 we need experienced players desperately, ones who can lead by example... older players would certainly please me as we dont have too many at the moment
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Enough to buy three of four decent players within reason I would of thought. I doubt it will be as cut and dry as "here you go Ian, heres 5 million, toddle off and spend it" as believe it or not, this isn't football manager 2007.
filbertstreetboy Posted 16 December 2007 Author Posted 16 December 2007 my only concern is ollie is obbsessd with geting these plymouth players and there manager has just come out with "we wont be selling our players cheap to leicester" i think we will be paying over the odds for average ccc players if we get them from plymouth
WetFlannel Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 my only concern is ollie is obbsessd with geting these plymouth players and there manager has just come out with "we wont be selling our players cheap to leicester" i think we will be paying over the odds for average ccc players if we get them from plymouth i dont think plymouth will want to sell to us anyway, as theyre all still pretty bitter about Ollie
Dames Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 I think that he will draw up a list of potential targets and Milan will check this over and give a rough estimation on how much he would be willing to spend on each player. We probably won't be seeing the Multi-Million pound moves everyones hoping for more like the shrewd 200-500k buys that turn out to be half decent.
Cobbo Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 How much does 10 players cost? Goalies brilliant. So we just need the other 10.
WetFlannel Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 How much does 10 players cost?Goalies brilliant. So we just need the other 10. we still need to buy him!!!
Cobbo Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 we still need to buy him!!! But it can wait until the summer
Aixelsyd Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 You hear it each year but it always seems to be forgotten. January is for toping up your player roster, NOT creating a New Squad. all we want or need is 2 to 3 EXPERIENCED Championship performers who need 1st team football. Just survive this season and build in the break.
weggy1976 Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Not sure how much we have to spend comes into it. What attraction do we give players wanting to progress their careers. This season nothing. Everyone has ope & anticipation that WE are going somewhere in the next few seasons. But boy are we a long way off, so convincing some players who may be coming to their prime that LCFC are the club to join might be more difficult than some of us hardcore fans think. Sure we can attract the has beens, or the average championship player, but we already have 30 of them and 20 odd just ain't good enough. Zoltan Gera ran the show the other week. Thats the type of player we want, but would any of them join us????
teblin Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Next to nothing..the same as Allen had! 2 million on fees? 2 million more than the season before. prob about another 2 million on wages.
Raj Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 How much will he get to spend then? £199.99...everything in The Jan sale is always reduced!!!!!!!!
davieG Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 We should get Ollie to buy his players through Foxestalk that way Mark will get a %. Mark how about a link to shitplayersforsale.com
Thracian Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Managers with other people's money frighten me. Look how much of MM's money's been squandered even in a few months. Really it's a pity the managers don't own the clubs and have to spend their own money. That would focus their attention. I doubt anyone would be signed "unseen" or on the evidence of some YouTube video.

The Reverend Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 It seems his hypocracy will cost him dear:-http://www.thisiswesternmorningnews.co.uk/...tentPK=19282613 Hmmm, that is very interesting indeed, and does show a huge amount of hypocrisy. But i ll say it again, honour and integrity have long since left the footballing world.
Tommy G Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Milans hand will be forced deep into his Bank account considering the position were in. If we were mid table at this stage then we probably would bring in two or 3 players. Were teatering on relegation with fans unrest so I'd say he will be bring in 5 and spend big due to the desperate situation were in. Nothing inspires me from the current set of players that will improve the situation at this club. I just hope he doesn't waste it on paying over the odds for some plymouth bum boys he rated before he came here.
filbertstreetboy Posted 17 December 2007 Author Posted 17 December 2007 spot on tommyg the only player we should get from plymouth is norris i mean barry hayles ffs he had half a decent season last yr but so far this season he has been shit,i dont want hayles to be the great hope for staying up i think we should go for mclean from peterbough tbh

Agreed, look at Mcloud at Charlton.. Quality at MK Dons but has struggled with the step up.
