Fox in a Box Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Miller only arrived at Pride Park from Celtic at the end of August and Jewell is surprised with the speculation linking the striker with a move back across the border. The Rams manager has admitted he will be active in the transfer market when the window opens next month but with a view to strengthening his ailing side rather than selling. Scotland international Miller has scored twice in 11 appearances for Derby and reports have suggested he may be heading back to former club Rangers, where former Scotland manager Walter Smith is in charge. "I have had no contact from Rangers and I'm not looking to sell Kenny Miller," Jewell told the Derby Evening Telegraph. "As I said last week, I have not had any calls about our players apart from Steve Howard." Howard has been receiving interest from two Championship clubs believed to be Wolves and Leicester. Jewell's men are currently bottom of the Premier League and eight points adrift of safety following seven consecutive defeats and the boss is keen to add to his side in January in a bid to beat the drop. "Bringing in three, four or five new faces can give the place a lift," said Jewell. "We are going to try our best to get out of trouble and new faces can help. Now that would be right up our street....just the kind of player we need
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 He's no better than Carl Cort. If we had Matt Oakley and Giles Barnes behind our strike force our strikers would score a few more as well!
Asha Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Would want Howard...his goalscoring record at this level speaks for itself. Even at Luton he was banging them in and thier midfielders were hardly world class.

Ric Flair Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Would want Howard...his goalscoring record at this level speaks for itself. Even at Luton he was banging them in and thier midfielders were hardly world class. They had Kevin Nicholls, Carlos Edwards and Ahmed Brkovic to supply Howard with plenty of service. 3 midfielders that at their peak would walk in to our side. In fact all 3 probably still would, even Brkovic whose getting on a bit now.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Would be an excellent signing. Been getting in their team a bit recently but if they are looking to strengthen in January then he might be available. Would sooner have that bloke they bought in the summer but never use. Goofy-looking. Forget his name now. Think he's from Northern Ireland or somewhere.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Thats disgusting coming from a resident of Northampton! The latest in a long line of Cobblers misfits who have gone on to better things, Lee Williamson and Sam Parkin being two more examples. Even Marc Richards threatened to do it at one point.
Father Ted Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 This would be an excellent signing. He can score goals at this level and that is exactly what we need. And he is a proper target man who CAN ACTUALLY HEAD THE BALL.

Dickov was never an amazing player but he got at the defence even with his size - its important in this division and we have few if any players that do this.

Babylon Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Depending on who else we get he could be a very good signing... one thing though, Wolves or Leicester? Even i'd probably choose wolves.
Asha Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Depending on who else we get he could be a very good signing... one thing though, Wolves or Leicester? Even i'd probably choose wolves. I'd join Forest
davieG Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Depending on who else we get he could be a very good signing... one thing though, Wolves or Leicester? Even i'd probably choose wolves. I thought you'd pick Plymouth.
Babylon Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 I thought you'd pick Plymouth. I would, I'd be a mole so I could bring them down from the inside.
Master Fox Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Vast improvement on Carl Cort I have to say if we were to sign him in January. NB: Manwell Pablo (Most Knowledgeable about football) -3 points
Babylon Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Manwell Pablo (Most Knowledgeable about football) -3 points I think we should start a thracian style points system for Manwells "football knowledge".
Master Fox Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 I think we should start a thracian style points system for Manwells "football knowledge". You know what, I think we should. Also believe we should do the same on Thracian, start marking down his status as it were... In line for the Foxestalk awards 2008
Babylon Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 You know what, I think we should. Also believe we should do the same on Thracian, start marking down his status as it were... Thracian is still on -8067 in my book, for suggesting Chris O'Grady should play at centre back.
Master Fox Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Thracian is still on -8067 in my book, for suggesting Chris O'Grady should play at centre back. That applys to last years awards/season. This is new marking scheme going forward.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Thracian is still on -8067 in my book, for suggesting Chris O'Grady should play at centre back. That never happened, surely...
Babylon Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 That applys to last years awards/season. This is new marking scheme going forward. Has he called for Elvis to be included yet this year?? If so my score still stands
Babylon Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 That never happened, surely... Fez my man... it did indeed. I like to remind him of it every now and again.
Master Fox Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Has he called for Elvis to be included yet this year?? If so my score still stands Yesterday to be precise. I think he even mentioned the possibility of COG coming back on loan to ease our defensive problems.
