well according to the mercury weve botted two keepers leaving us fulop and hendo , so if fulop goes then that leaves us with no reserve keeper. ollie must be confident on getting fulop then?.... logan isnt with us anymore, douglas gone, nielson gone, we must be getting him:)

Oh fcuk. What more is there to say?

If indeed Sunderland have no reserve keepers, and if this 'clause' IS in the contract, there's nothing we can do. I hope it genuinely IS just Keane trying to improve the price on Fulop - at least that gives us some hope of getting him signed...

Marton, I love you so

I want you to know

that I'm going to miss your saves

the minute you walk out that door

so please don't go

don't go, don't go away

please don't go

don't go, I'm begging you to stay.

Love it.

I hope he doesn't go. Don't know if anyone was around me yesterday or at Wolves but whenever Fulop touched the ball we all sang sign him up.

Get your cheque book out Milan.

He is, as we speak, being re called in Jan, whether Sunderland play him or sell him is, of course, up to RK, IF they sell him we have no first option but I can assure you that every effort is being made to keep him here.

Rumours from TalkingBalls...

some load-mouth **** who sits behind me and moans the whole 90 mins mentioned yesterday that QPR have signed Fullop and he will go there on Jan 1st? is this old news that i haven't heard of or just bollox??
Newts has told me we've signed him for £750k, so the chap who sits behind you has obviously got it wrong.

Hmm.

It's a leicester fan website like this, it's nothing official... it has a few people with inside info though.

I really cant see a deal with QPR happening before that.

If QPR sign him then I will be really really really Gutted. Although I think WE have played our part in trying to keep Fulop with the Fulop chants and we have made it clear that we want him and love him to stay.

According to the Mercury, we have tabled a £1 million bid for him and have also registered interest in Graham Kavanagh.

This hasn't been confirmed on the Blue Army website yeah but it was on the back page of the paper this morning

Get him in.... but watch Roy, he's learnt the expensive way about keepers with any talent. He also didn't want to sell him in the first place and we have showed our hand. Watch the price go up.......If we get him for sub 1.5 million I'll be happy and surprised.

Hopefully we can get the Fulop deal done soon then but.........

......why are we going for Kavanagh? We have experience in the middle with Clem. We need an exciting, attacking, creative centre mid next to him not an old, slow, ever more defensive midfielder.

Double swoop

Leicester City have lined up a double swoop for Sunderland pair Graham Kavanagh and Marton Fulop.

City have tabled a £1million bid for goalkeeper Fulop and also made an approach for midfielder Kavanagh.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane last week declared he might recall Fulop from his season-long loan at the Walkers Stadium, but City were always going to try to wrest the Hungarian international away from the Stadium of Light when next week's transfer window opens.

Fulop is a firm favourite with the Blue Army, and City see the towering keeper as an important part of the new-look set-up which manager Ian Holloway is trying to establish.

The keeper is eager to remain at the Walkers Stadium where he has settled in well. More importantly, he wants first-team football, which he would probably not get at the Stadium of Light, to underline his status as Hungary's number one.

Experienced Irish midfielder Kavanagh, who was Sheffield Wednesday's best player when City won at Hillsborough under Gary Megson earlier in the season, would boost an area which Holloway believes is one of the weak points in the squad.

The City boss said: “I have got James Wesolowski, who is a great competitor but is out at the moment, and young Kingy (Andy King) as young players coming through, but I need someone else to play in there with Clem (Stephen Clemence).â€

Dublin-born Kavanagh, who turned 34 earlier this month, came to prominence during a five-year spell at Stoke City before Cardiff snapped him up for £1m in 2001.

A move to Wigan followed in 2005 before Sunderland signed him for £500,000 in August last year.

Well known for his hard tackling abilities, as well as being able to add a creative dimension to his play, Kavanagh has seen his opportunities limited by Keane, who sent him on loan to Sheffield Wednesday in September.

The £1m offer for Fulop is believed to match the terms Sunderland paid Tottenham for the keeper, and while Kavanagh's Premier League wages proved a stumbling block when a proposed loan move to Norwich broke down, City are hopeful that their move for the midfielder will be successful.

These two are only the start of Holloway's moves in preparation for next month's transfer scramble, and he still has his sights set on attackers, both wide men and strikers, and is believed to be closing in on some prime targets.

The way I read it, Kavanagh would be seen as a short-term fix because of Weso's injuries and King's inexperience. The trouble is that we have been burnt already this season because that was Kishishev's mandate.

Think people may be aiming there expectations a little to high at the moment.

Kavanagh would be a good signing for us, without a doubt.

Fulop obviously is a must but I can see Keane playing silly beggars for quote some time with this deal.

I think people were more worried about him being more of a holding midfielder, rather than a creative one who can chip in with a few goals.
