Phube Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 I expect there will be. I've lifted a couple of kids from our academy and I've told about eight players that I don't want them and sent them away for Christmas. Any guesses???
BedsFox Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Douglas Maybury Hammond Hellings Nielsen Newton Kenton and one, possibly Stearman would be my guesses

isaidno Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Newton, Maybury, Ngotty, Hellings,Douglas & Niellsen
MPH Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Newton, Maybury, Ngotty, Hellings,Douglas & Niellsen thats only six...
Asha Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Is it just me that noticed its 6 from the academy. EDIT: Just learnt to read.
isaidno Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 why get rid of n'gotty? Because he is too slow
Father Ted Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Because he is too slow But so is Mcauley and overall N'gotty is a better player than Mcauley and has also been one of our better players this season. Also with all this speculation about Kisnorbo to Fulham we might need him.
City Fan Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Douglas Maybury Hammond Kishishev De Vries Hellings Nielson Newton Fo' Sho'.
City Fan Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 What are you implying? That he's told 8 academy players to fook off? Read it again........... *Edit* - That was in response to Ashley, but now makes no sense now that he has edited his post!
Asha Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Newton's got to be one of them, probably Cort. The rest is anyone's guess.
dandannieldanok Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Newton's got to be one of them, probably Cort. The rest is anyone's guess. I'd be happy to see the back of Cort but I fear after Ollie's public support of him that he may just stay
Blue Bob Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 DouglasMaybury Hammond Kishishev De Vries Hellings Nielson Newton Fo' Sho'. Gotta say these would be on my list too!! And a few more besides!!
Ashley Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 What are you implying? That he's told 8 academy players to fook off? Read it again...........*Edit* - That was in response to Ashley, but now makes no sense now that he has edited his post! I wasnt implying that Holloway told 8 youth/academy team players to do one, why would he we probably have one of the best academys in England.
TrickyTrev Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 DouglasMaybury Hammond Kishishev De Vries Hellings Nielson Newton Fo' Sho'. I think this is correct. N'Gotty, Kenton and Cort are all being used in the first team squad.
Bert Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Douglas Nielsen Maybury Newton Hellings Hammond Kishishev 1 other. Not sure it will be De Vries.
Cobbo Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Kisnorbo Mattock Clemence Wesolowski Hume James Chambers Fryatt
weggy1976 Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Gotta say these would be on my list too!! And a few more besides!! Yeah likewise. Only Newton & Maybury have made an appearance under Ollie from that list. Albeit brief ones. I would have thought he might make an example of a couple that have been in the present first team as it them that have been under performing for him. This list of 8 have little bearing on recent results/performances/lack of effort etc.
Thracian Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 What are you implying? That he's told 8 academy players to fook off? Read it again...........*Edit* - That was in response to Ashley, but now makes no sense now that he has edited his post! There's nothing to read into the Academy situation. They always go home for Christmas and Ollie's obviously decided to keep a couple of the better ones back to make sure he's got sufficient numbers to get him through the Christmas programme. Someone has already mentioned Lee Cox being added to our squad. Billy McKay may be another. Billy is a regular up front for the reserves. He's a bit lightweight but he's one of the few who can close people down for 90 minutes. Good ball control, good passer and a regular marksman for the Academy last season. Several young players have been added to the first team squad lately reflecting the Ollie intends to by-pass what he feels is the deadwood clearly believing the youngsters - all decent players if mostly short yet of genuine first team standard - will be inspired to ever greater effort and will lift the mood of the remaining squad and any newcomers who shortly arrive. You can imagine Holloway using the reserves, in future, as a genuine feeder side instead of it being clogged with all sorts of irrelevencies who were never going to compete for a first team place again. Altogether moves which will improve the mood and give us a proper sense of direction.
City Fan Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 DouglasNielsen Maybury Newton Hellings Hammond Kishishev 1 other. Not sure it will be De Vries. If De Vries was in our first team plans, surely Ollie would have recalled him in our recent striker crisis.
Bert Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 If De Vries was in our first team plans, surely Ollie would have recalled him in our recent striker crisis. He tried but couldn't get him.
