Wolves 1-1 post match

Having just got back from the game I thought it was a decent performance

Collins John had 2 clear 1 on 1s and botched both

Yes Wolves threatened a lot more in last 25 minutes but they should have been buried before then

and what was Kisnorbo doing for the equaliser, tracked Jarvis all the way and then stopped, did not put a challenge in and gave the guy a tap in

Frustrating

We clearly need good attacking midfielders, a finisher and some width as at present we can play in patches on the break but at home we have nothing to offer when teams defend more .

I do feel in the keeper, if we can get him, and the defence we have a workable solution for this leagiue

3 blokes got thrown out for been drunk which was a complete joke. The police had it in for them from the start. Really pisses me off that it took about 8 policemen to remove 3 blokes.

I was right behind this and I think the police got it exactly right. One of the three in particular could hardly stand up he was so pissed, and it is an offence to be drunk at a Sporting Event

They were repeatedly told to cool it, didn't and got ejected

I understand you but they were only standing up and singing. Nothing violent.

After the match it kind of felt like we lost.

At half time we were crusing and Wolves looked like they wouldn't score in a brothel, they were awful. But it just goes to show what a couple of players can do to change things. Eastwood and Keogh came on and made the difference. It tells me that with a few quality players coming in we can be a force, because without those two Wolves were terrible.

Hume's goal was brilliant, more of those this season please. :) We played alright, good first half that we battled well in and deserved the one goal lead. Second half we had more pressure on us and in the end we were broken down on the counter attack. I was devastated when their second "goal" went in, but thankfully it was ruled out.

When John missed his second chance I had a horrible feeling we might regret it. Seems my suspicions were right.

Overall, it's annoying we didn't grab the three points but I suppose a draw against Wolves away isn't so bad.

I am the gentleman sitting three rows behind the police

Initially two policemen approached the lads, pissed as anything, on the front row

they said

"we are police from Leicester, you have a choice stop behaving like this or get locked up"

then a few minutes later the local police got involved with the lads refusing to sit and generally being pissed up

then, when they ejected, there were about 8 of them around

8, I accept was a bit OTT, but who knows how people are going to react when arrested?

We needed a win tonight and we didnt get it, there's still games to go, WE WILL PICK UP AND COME ON FORM.

Hume's freekick was good. Collins John hasnt got his match sharpness back yet.

Give it time, it will come.

Edit: My internet is playing up
I'm going to say this once, and only once. Ever.

"What DB11 said."

Is your internet playing up too? :giggle::whistle:

On the plus side - we pressed really well in the first half giving them little time on the ball, a bit like many teams have done to us at the Walkers

On the negative side - ball retention was poor. Struggled to string more than a couple of passes together second half.

Ouch! Looking at the table hurts

Just got back and I'm ridiculously glad I'm not the only one impressed with Stearman, because I started to get the feeling I was going over the top. Top-drawer performance from him, he honestly couldn't have played better. Now we just have to hope that Ollie's sorted him out rather than him having one good game to make sure he's not punted out of the team in January. Chambers looked suprisingly decent going forward on the flank.

What also stood out for me were John's two chances. On the minus side, yeah, he missed them - but they were both positions I've honestly not seen a Leicester player in for two seasons. First chance in acres of space close to the goal with plenty of time to shoot, second chance behind the defence from a defence-splitting pass on the floor. Very encouraged that those spaces opened up.

I think N'Gotty's gotten a rather rough ride off some too (specifically Thracian's ratings that I'm just reading). A lot of the space and more penetrating passing we suddenly had was due to him. His experience shows and its good to have that in the middle of the park. Clemence was quicker and put in more telling tackles, but as a midfielder he was outclassed by a creaking centre-back who was good but not outstanding (IMO). Worrying. I'd honestly drop him at the minute.

I think the TV may have something to do with minimising N'Gotty's performance as more than one person has been surprised at the feedback from those that went. It just goes to show that the views of armchair fans, and there are many these days should not be taken in the same way as those that attend.

A fair point I s'pose, but I watched the game on Sky (i'm very rarely able to go up these days largely due to monetary reasons) and I wasn't disappointed with anybodies performance really.

Away to Wolves was always going to be a tough game, so when we scored a cracker early on and continued to play so well in the first half, it was a pleasant surprise. I always felt it could be a different game in the second half, and when Keogh and Eastwood came on, it turned the game for Wolves, but aside from one or two shaky moments we never looked like we were uncomfortable defending. Stearman had an unusually excellent game - here's hoping it's not a one off - N'Gotty was solid, and Mattock was capable enough. Hayes impressed me too - I agree with the previous poster who said he should start the next game. Even CJ looked good; i'll put his poor finishing down to a lack of match fitness.

All in all, i'm quite optimistic going into the Boxing Day game against Ipswich. The way they play away from Portman Rd, and the way we played today tells me we could get something out of this game - and I never would have said that before this evenings performance!

Stearman played well last night... which was good to see... actually the whole side put in a decent performance, and for that, I am glad, I'll take that for Christmas... :)

Well done to the boys for showing some promising signs during that game and things aren't looking so bad... hopefully the trend continues against Ipswich on Boxing Day... :D

I'm not suggesting that ones overall view of the game is vastly different through TV or being in attendance although i'm sure it can on occasions what I do think is obvious and is unquestionable is that perceptions of individual players can be wildly different after all they can be when viewed through the same media. But TV gives such a 'narrow' view of the game it's impossible to notice what's happening off the ball in terms of covering back ups, running off the ball etc. This what I think may have happened today. Watching through TV I thought that N'gotty and Clemence were the least influential players on the pitch but those that were there seemed to have a completely opposite view.

Play offs back on?

Yeah right,it don't matter how you dress this up,after John's miss early in the second half we fell apart..again!

I'm sick to death of looking for the positives from this shower of shite and January can't come soon enough because I'm sure that we finally have a manager who knows the score!

Stearman had a fantastic game

Hume played well too. Mattock got ripped to shreds most of the game and was poor. Along with John who's finishing was the difference between us getting 1 or 3 points

Posted
Is it me or are we shit, we can't actually keep possession of the ball for more than 5-10 seconds.

Finally somebody else noticed. We had two passes (at most) and then lump it forward and hope John or Hume would chase it.

That would help us get out of this mess, yes. But we also desperately need some midfielders and a little flair wouldn't go amiss either, if we want to match Mandaric's ambition...

Agreed. Our midfielders, for all their effort and tackling, looked dismal with the ball at their feet (with the odd exception of N'Gotty a couple of times). Passes were going astray from Clemence, Chambers and Hume and we really struggled to keep or hold up the ball. I'd be surprised if we had 40% of the possession in the second half.

Collins John should really have finished the game - they were both poor finishes and when you get chances like that in this division (or in any), you've got to score otherwise you'll be punished. Which is what happened. I'm not going to give him the excuse of lack of match fitness - he shrugged off the defender and controlled the ball like he was fully fit, so why does he suddenly lack match fitness when it comes to shooting?

A point is a decent result at Molineux, but we're still up the creek and our home form needs to drastically improve (which I'm not too confident about) if we're to get out of trouble.

And Thrac, it's naive

Much better performance i feel confident of staying up if we continue to play like that

But will we?

You know our problem? Apart from having shite players? We are too inconsistent, which I suppose is due to having shite players.

I dread to think of having to read through a Man United player ratings thread. It would be an absolute nightmare.

I was impressed to be honest.

The players were flying into tackles and looked organized and we created plenty of goalscoring chances to win the game. We weren't so good in the second-half but Wolves were always going to have a decent spell as the home side but we competed well and should have won the game and probably would have had CJ had that little bit more composure.

People are right about the passing.

We started trying to pass to feet but gradually the focus disappeared and, from the time we scored, we increasingly reverted to kind - not least because we started conceding ground before we started defending and therefore there weren't so many passing options to be found.

In fact we increasingly clogged our own space in midfield and this allowed Wolves to commit more men forward safely because they had so little to worry about from our own attack.

John had his chance but otherwise the up front movement virtually disappeared - particularly Fryatt's.
