Bert Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 I read in the Sun yesterday, that MM has given Ollie a good amount to spend, around a premiership budget.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 I read in the Sun yesterday, that MM has given Ollie a good amount to spend, around a premiership budget. Yeah, but you read it in the Sun .
Bryn Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 Most Prem budgets are £20m these days at least, look at Derby, Sunderland, Fulham etc. Can't see us spending that much money, though I'll be impressed if we do because this club needs to be rebuilt from the bottom upwards. It's not so much that the players are bad, just that there's a general rot in the club, and it needs gutting and restarting. And that will take some cash.
Bert Posted 25 December 2007 Author Posted 25 December 2007 Yeah, but you read it in the Sun . Yeah. But it was quoting Ollie.
davieG Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 Yesterday's Merc Ian Holloway pledges that Leicester City will not go the way of Leeds and Nottingham Forest and dip into the third tier for the first time. City slid into the relegation frame on Saturday despite gaining a point from the 1-1 draw at Wolves. But Holloway is determined that City will not go down and sees his clear-out of seven players as the start of the recovery. He said of City's position in the table: “Of course it concerns me. It is a yardstick. If you don't win at home, you will not do well in this division. It is always the next game to look forward to and that is what we will do. “If you can't pay off those people who you don't want, you will be in trouble. So I have sent seven away to try to sort themselves out and, maybe in my time here, there might be more. “If they don't manage to move on, they will come back here and I will train them, because that is only fair. I have got to help them move on.†He added: “We need to move on and we will do when the transfer window opens.†Holloway stopped the losing run at Molineux on Saturday and now sets his sights on the next two games at the Walkers Stadium. At the same time, he is champing at the bit to start transfer-window dealings. He said: “The chairman, Milan Mandaric, has given me a good amount of money to spend. “I am not saying exactly how much, obviously. But, for this level, it is a good amount, even good for the level up from us. “I am not going to waste it, but be sensible and get value for money. Then we can really move onwards and upwards. “I got a good response from the players on Saturday after a difficult week and let's look forward, not back.''
Dames Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 At least this year we don't have to offload a player to get in 3 shittier players.

Free Falling Foxes Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 A discussion on 5live a couple of days ago mentioned how very few transfer window aquisitions make any difference! Not many players can 'Hit the ground running'. Any new players we get need to be Billy Whizz! We need to buck that trend big time for the second part of this season or we are in deep $4it FFF

We need to buck that trend big time for the second part of this season or we are in deep $4it FFF i remember a few years ago West Ham were buggered. They signed Hartson and Kitson for combined fee of about 8m and it saved their premiership scrotums big time...

Oh I'm sorry, is this green-eyed monster time? You've never had so much as a grand to spend on players...i doubt Plymouth's bank would be able to hold it. Come back in a month, without Ebanks-Blake, Norris, Gosling etc. and will see if your synical
