shrek1970 Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Norwich City's off-form striker Jamie Cureton is being linked with a move away from Carrow Road in January with Leicester City his likely destination. Ian Holloway is an admirer of Cureton's and is planning to take advantage of his bad form and make a bid in the region of £250,000 - £500,000 for the striker in the transfer window Leicester have been strongly linked with Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford however, and a £500'000 bid is expected to be made to Ken Bates' still financially stricken form side next week Not more strikers? http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/1117659/PrintPost.aspx
lee7 Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 would only want one of them or we will have way to many strikers.
NorthernFox Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 No problem - were going to play 3 - 1 - 6 Dynamic new tactics for the Ollie era!
WetFlannel Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 He was complaing before at having right backs vs. goalkeepers... well we have more strikers than either now

Bryn Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 So this leaves us with.... Fryatt Hume Howard Hayles and then potentially Beckford/Cureton 5 strikers. John won't be signed. Cort has been sacked off. Could be worse, though it is somewhat extreme.

Bryn Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 and Campbell! Knew I forgot someone He's crocked anyway
Vennegoor10 Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Surely this means one of the current crop is leaving? If, very unlikely I know, this is true.
MPH Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Knew I forgot someone He's crocked anyway and chambers, and sappleton,
MPH Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Surely this means one of the current crop is leaving? If, very unlikely I know, this is true. this story first came to light early yesterday on the infamous ' football rumours' so i see no truth in it....
MikeyT Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 No problem - were going to play 3 - 1 - 6 Dynamic new tactics for the Ollie era! Hahaha, could be an interesting formation to watch!
MC Prussian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 So this leaves us with....Fryatt Hume Howard Hayles and then potentially Beckford/Cureton 5 strikers. John won't be signed. Cort has been sacked off. Could be worse, though it is somewhat extreme. Again, people forget that Hume had a cracking season for Tranmere... as an attacking midfielder!! He just doesn't fit in the role of a true striker, he can cause way more havoc behind the front, tearing up the defense and playing the odd genius pass. And Hayles could possibly play on the wing, too. Which would leave us with three to four strikers. Not bad for a proper shuffle game.
Fox You Forest Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Perhaps we misunderstood, The way hes going to balance the team is by have 15 players for each posistion not just right back instead of getting rid of a few players.
Flynny Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 He's not going to buy a load more shit strikers. Christ. If we sign one of them i'll drink my own piss.

Brainy Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I'd take Beckford for the future... rather leave Cureton though.
Father Ted Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 So this leaves us with....Fryatt Hume Howard Hayles Campbell and then potentially Beckford/Cureton 5 strikers. John won't be signed. Cort has been sacked off. Could be worse, though it is somewhat extreme. Hume will either leave or play on the wing. Campbell will be sold along with Hammond and De Vries. Beckford could be a good signing although I am not so sure about Cureton.
Bezzanator89 Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Not convinced by Beckford. he may be prolific at League One level but he may be a complete flop in the Championship and above. That's usually the case for players these days, they are just not made to compete in the higher divisions. Same with Cureton, but would be good to have him though.
Filberts lovechild Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I'd take Beckford definately. Not sure about Cureton, but midfielders have got to be a proirity in the window after getting howard and hayles!
