James. Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Teaching is a difficult job...apart from Primary School. My point being is that teaching is hard, but primary school is the least out the lot IN MY OPINION. Hmm... I see Tommy G is staying true to form in this thread. Hmm...
Daggers Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Because year 7's can be right urchins. I would say the ill dicipline factor outweighs the not so academic teaching for me. If I had the choice out the two I would be Primary School teacher...? Judging by the standard of your posts in this thread I don't think you'll be offered the choice anytime soon. People that seem to be able to judge other professions while knowing sod all about them really piss me off. Sure you are entitled to your opinions - but spouting ignorance in a public domain entitles everyone else to laugh at you. Loudly.
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Bit like bear baiting, this. Move forward slowly and then jump back giggling when he lashes out, blindfolded.
Tommy G Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 To be honest with people. Stating your opinion on here comes with baggage these days. Repeatedly stating an opinion on any given subject comes with being slated, I have said nothing ofensive regarding teaching, just my opinion on how difficult Primary School teaching is compared with say Secondary School teaching. Certain characters think that when they have their say, their right and no-one else is I don't know why IFu cking bother

But i think many people see it as ignorance, that's all.
James. Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 I don't know why IFu cking bother Neither do I. Your knowledge of stuff like how to have really nice big muscles and how to be really fit and strong and manly and how to lift weights and stuff is clearly very valuable and well informed. However this contrasts greatly with your knowledge of teaching, as TEACHERS on here have clearly demonstrated.
Tommy G Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 I'm not slating you here....But i think many people see it as ignorance, that's all. I know your not, and I appreciate that. Its the fact im stating an opinion, and get slated for it that pisses me off
The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 People that seem to be able to judge other professions while knowing sod all about them really piss me off. That is very true. I also apologise if I've been seen to do this. I've had bad experiences with a couple of teachers in recent times, that's all! I really wouldn't know the first thing about their jobs, just as they wouldn't about mine.

And your an expert on teaching so you'd know?!

Zingari Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 That is very true.I also apologise if I've been seen to do this. I've had bad experiences with a couple of teachers in recent times, that's all! I really wouldn't know the first thing about their jobs, just as they wouldn't about mine. they would if they happened to be teachers of insurance underwriting
James. Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Saying it that means your taking the piss? And your an expert on teaching so you'd know?! It's not expertise where I draw my opinions and knowledge from on this subject matter. They are mainly derived from common sense and reference to experiences had by my girlfriend, a teacher friend and some of the posters on here.
Bert Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Right. Working with kids is hard. i think we've established that. I work with children from the ages 5-15. I'm not a teacher, but the main problems with, infants and juniors, is getting them to listen and concentrate properly, whereas from the ages 12+ the main problem is attitude, and the fact that they don't want to anything, except their own thing. Teens are more likely to go off, and walk out, making it less of a problem at that time, whilst with the younger ones, you'd get stuck with them a lot more, and it's very hard to control their tantrums, whilst you have more children to supervise.
The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 they would if they happened to be teachers of insurance underwriting Lord knows I could do with one.

Likewise my mums been in teaching for twenty years as has my girlfriends mum, one secondry level and one reception actually, and guess which ones the biggest stress head . Sorry Tommy it just seems you've made a sweeping statement based plainly on the difficulty of the subjects being taught, been called up on it, and instead of admitting you were probabley a bit quick to make a judgement on something you don't know much about your sticking by it.
Tommy G Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 so basically just your opinion ; the same as he is claiming Aha finally!!!
The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 I think the problem lies in the fact that not everyone's opinions should be worth the same. Stupid people, for example, should be allowed an opinion, of course, but it should be there almost as devil's advocate, as a yardstick for stupidity, as an example of what is wrong, some light relief for the brainier amongst us to point at and laugh.
James. Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 so basically just your opinion ; the same as he is claiming No. Not really. As per my comment I have applied common sense as well as real life examples in formulating my view. I have no idea where Tommy G has derived his opinion from.
Tommy G Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 No. Not really. As per my comment I have applied common sense as well as real life examples in formulating my view. I have no idea where Tommy G has derived his opinion from. From my experience of going through school, and observing. Also speaking to my auntie who has done both. Theres your answer
Master Fox Posted 15 January 2008 Author Posted 15 January 2008 No. Not really. As per my comment I have applied common sense as well as real life examples in formulating my view. I have no idea where Tommy G has derived his opinion from. His rectum, which he also uses to communicate with.
