Daggers Posted 29 January 2008 Author Posted 29 January 2008 I'm sure you've posted on here about getting behind the team loads of times and hating boo boys. What if this support makes him more relaxed, and then stops him getting too anxious, thus making less mistakes later? He probably gets it most cos he's got a very simple and characteristic chant. It's easy, and the crowd jump on it to make some positive noise. Which I KNOW is something you're a big fan of from your posts. Thk you've got your wires crossed a bit mate. Have you seen Hume relaxed? Ever? There's no crossed wires, it's all very simple - stop congratulating the player when he is being incompetent.
lildave3 Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 why, what have i missed? Nothing, turns out i'd forgot what i'd said. You're still pretty wrong with what you're saying though.
sdb Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Nothing, turns out i'd forgot what i'd said. You're still pretty wrong with what you're saying though. oh am i? thank's very much. here's me thinking i could voice an opinion. and this coming from someone who forgets what they're saying?? if a player puts effort in we generally applaud them, with hume we say his name because it's easy to do so, he's probably our most gifted and loyal player, and has played a massive part in leicester preserving their championship status on more than one occassion. but if according to you chanting his name is plain wrong, then who am i or anyone else to argue? next time he fails to do something decent i'll sit silent and bemused. might cheer if he scores. close thread now. 'lildave' says i'm wrong. no point in discussion!!

'lildave' says i'm wrong. no point in discussion!! , you like dealing in extremes don't you. If he does something well, then Huuuuume all you like. But that's not what this thread is about. Hume is my favourite current City player (Sappleton aside) so there's no need to bring in all this gifted loyal player stuff aswell. There's no need to shout Huuuuuuuuuuume every time he goes near the ball is all people were saying. Ok, it's a simple chant, but so just about every other song we sing and you've already said you're pretty much silent apart from when Hume is near the ball. Why not join in with other chants?

Why not join in with other chants? i join in with all chants but we're not the most vocal these days. that's why i can't see the point in arguing about one of the few we stick to! i'm not one for huuummmee-ing all the time, but you say you didn't do it at all yesterday, including his free kick which i thought was brilliant. as for sappleton being your fave player - he's done nothing at leicester so surely you making flags for him and bigging him up is completely contradicting your whole point in this thread! at least hume does something!
Joe. I wouldn't go too far into that to be honest

A. You said you were silent apart from when you say Huuuuume. B. If you don't Huuuume all the time, what were you disagreeing with to start all this off? C. His free kick was good, and I would have Huuume'd away but I was busy laughing at someone next to me who thought it was in and had threw his arms into the air. D. Sappleton is a cult hero COmedy purposes + reminiscent of Heskey is just two reasons why he is a god.
ronnup Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Have you seen Hume relaxed? Ever? There's no crossed wires, it's all very simple - stop congratulating the player when he is being incompetent. The idea of support, in my head, is not congratulate good football but to create an atmosphere that may inspire it. Sounds a bit pompous to be sat there like a little emperor clapping what you see as good football and then getting angry when fans support a player and get behind him. From reading your threads I'm pretty sure you know the game mate, and a lot of it's in the head as you know. He's not a dog that wants a biscuit for doing the right thing, it's about letting him know that he's got a crowd behind him. That can be a huge thing for a team.

lildave3 Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 He's not even fit enough to clean Hammond's boots. Ankle has nothing on Sappleton. At least Big Ricky has made an appearance this year :snigger:

Sappleton is a cult hero COmedy purposes + reminiscent of Heskey is just two reasons why he is a god. a. i said i was 'pretty much' silent - i.e the same as 99% of our fans. i'd be louder if i didn't get looked at by everyone surrounding me b. i'm disagreeing with the fact that there's a thread complaining about the chanting of one of our players! c. when you said you didn't chant his name once yesterday you implied this was through a lack of effort/class/whatever from hume - that he didnt deserve it basically d. hume's a cult hero to a lot of our fans, running around like mad, scruffy looks, plus lots of technical ability. sappletons resemblense to heskey is something i love too, and i'll give him a good cheer when he finally appears for us. will it be ok for me to cheer him if he tries something but doesn't pull it off though?!?

A. Your percentages need some work. B. There's not. This is a thread about the over use of the Huuuuume chant. It's not even a chant but you know. C. I said apart from the free kick, APART, he didn't deserve it. Every time McAuley or Kisnorbo did something right did anybody sing their name? D. He already has appeared for us. There was never an argument that if anyone tried something special but doesn't come off that you shouldn't clap/sing his name, whatever. It was about people saying Huuuuuuume even if he did a shit pass, or miscontrolled something.

It's about creating an atmosphere to help boost the team. If you're only gunna sing when the teams having a blinder then you're probably supporting the wrong club.
sdb Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Sdb. Owned.By someone smaller than Levi Porter. hardly, he's contradicted himself with every post. 'lildave', i'm aware huumme isn't a chant. does that matter? how would you define it? i keep thinking how sad this argument is, but then you post again and change your points!

No, it doesn't matter, when did I say it did? I just address the points you feed me, I really do. As for contradicting myself, I wasn't aware I was. Sorry though, Mr 'I sit silently but join in with most chants'. Oh, and there's none of these badgering things >>'<< surrounding lildave.
Mr Happy Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Posting my opinion on this forum might be a very bad idea, considering how everybody tends to disagree with everybody elses opinion but i'm going to do it regardless. You see what I don't understand is that several months ago there was a big topic on 'getting behind your players' basically saying everybody should be cheerin not jeering, attemptin to bring back some atmosphere. Then we get this topic, 'dont cheer for the players that are having shite games' Well doesnt this 2nd topic kinda contradict everything in the 1st?? I mean up until the end of dec we were playing shite almost every game we played in, due to the players we had, so if both topics are to be understood then we shouldn't of cheered for any of the players up until then... a fine plan to get your team on the up
