Joe. Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 It's true, the fans do need to get out of Hume's arse. And Fryatt's. It's both the same. They both get their chants at times when they don't deserve them. Fryatt's still living off his goals in the 2005/06 season and Hume lives off of his work rate unfortunately.
Master Fox Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 You'll always be my mate, no matter what happens!!! So you won’t mind me wearing a pair of stilettos and a pink mini skirt when we go out? Official 'Pick on Muffster Fox' day?! yeh, thanks.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 To be honest when Hume does something wrong and gets the old huuuuuuuuuuume i think its just a joke. Still i rather we where getting behing them then booing them.
Corky Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I can understand people getting frustrated with this, I had a go at him for shooting when he should have passed, and I do criticise him, and others. I will praise Hume when he does things well, which, to be fair, is most of the time, but don't just shout his name for no reason. These people annoy me as well. Whoever said Lackzo was rubbish, is talking rubbish. Give the lad a chance, he's played three matches. His debut was superb, but you can't expect that level of performance every match. Last night wasn't a match for wingers, you try running hard on that pitch. Bori looked good when he came on, so did DJ. Praise Hume when he does something well, but not all of the time. I suppose the people who chant all the time are probably just glad of someone who tries their heart out. So unlucky not to score with that free-kick though.
Dr The Singh Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 So you won’t mind me wearing a pair of stilettos and a pink mini skirt when we go out?yeh, thanks. I insist on it!!!!

I'd say it's down to tghe simplicity of the chant, not just because they're up their arses.
sdb Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 hume always gives 100% and whether things come off or not for him, i don't see the harm in chanting his name. should we boo him? would that help things?! stupid. man utd fans do the same to rooney - he usually does ok by my reckoning.

Translated - Hume runs around a lot, so when he ****s up we should support him and praise him. I wonder if this rule could apply to other players.

Well that's aload of nonsense.
Samilktray Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Well that's aload of nonsense. why? I can see the similarities between Hume and Rooney
lildave3 Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 why?I can see the similarities between Hume and Rooney You would. You and your racism.
Samilktray Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 You would. You and your racism. How very dare you !
ronnup Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 The sheep excelled last night - rejoicing in below-par mediocrity.I don't want the lad booing, but the echoing name-check every time he cocks up is idiotic. It sets a bar of acceptance extremely low, and considering these ovines then go on to boo players doing a half-decent job is a joke. Last night Hume was well below average - you can make all the excuses for that if you care to, but the simple fact that he was poor is as good as beyond dispute...and yet you'd be convinced he was man of the sodding match if you'd sat there with your eyes shut. If I was another player in the team then I'd be getting more than a tad pissed off with it. Well, that's a given considering I'm not a player and it drives me up the bloody wall. Appreciate Hume for what he does well but, for ****s sake, think about what you are doing when you chant "Huuuuuuumeee!" everytime he launches a ball into touch or sodding orbit. Baaaa! I'm sure you've posted on here about getting behind the team loads of times and hating boo boys. What if this support makes him more relaxed, and then stops him getting too anxious, thus making less mistakes later? He probably gets it most cos he's got a very simple and characteristic chant. It's easy, and the crowd jump on it to make some positive noise. Which I KNOW is something you're a big fan of from your posts. Thk you've got your wires crossed a bit mate.
sdb Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Well that's aload of nonsense. ok lets boo him! or just stay silent in the library that the walkers so often is. the way forward - DON'T SUPPORT YOUR FOOTBALL TEAM!! Groundbreaking and a sure fire winner. The worlds best will flock here...

ronnup Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Do you boo everyone else?Do you sing everybody else's name? Balls do you. what's that got to do with it? Don't cheer for him cos the others will get jealous? It's just an easy thing to chant as it's quick and simple. People complaining about cheering a player? I seriously have never heard anything as dim-witted. Great fans .
sdb Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Do you boo everyone else?Do you sing everybody else's name? Balls do you. no i'm pretty much silent like the other 20 odd thousand fans around me. if hume wasn't there i'd dread to think what the atmosphere would be like. i see the point of this thread but at the end of the day, complaining about cheering one of our players is stupid

I didn't say 'Huuuuuume' once yesterday, because apart from his free kick which went close he didn't deserve to have the crowd chant his name. Yet I wasn't silent, funny that.
