Daggers Posted 17 February 2008 Author Posted 17 February 2008 Aside from that wank wayward first pass that (again) received the "huuuuume!" seal of approval for some obscure reason - he deserved every other cheer coming to him yesterday.
Messi Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Played Amazing Yesterday, That Ball to Howard for Stevies Goal was AWESOME I Dont Have HUUUUUUUME(i literally have 7 U's) on the back of my shirt for no reason.

C-man Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I said after the Watford game that being dropped may give him a kick up the arse, and it clearly has done
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 The sheep excelled last night - rejoicing in below-par mediocrity.I don't want the lad booing, but the echoing name-check every time he cocks up is idiotic. It sets a bar of acceptance extremely low, and considering these ovines then go on to boo players doing a half-decent job is a joke. Last night Hume was well below average - you can make all the excuses for that if you care to, but the simple fact that he was poor is as good as beyond dispute...and yet you'd be convinced he was man of the sodding match if you'd sat there with your eyes shut. If I was another player in the team then I'd be getting more than a tad pissed off with it. Well, that's a given considering I'm not a player and it drives me up the bloody wall. Appreciate Hume for what he does well but, for ****s sake, think about what you are doing when you chant "Huuuuuuumeee!" everytime he launches a ball into touch or sodding orbit. Baaaa! Gee. How inappropriate of the fans to cheer who many see as the marquee player. How inappropriate to voice such support for a team player at the Walkers! Tsk tsk, won't people think before they do silly things like this.

People "Huuuume" him even if he hits a 40 yard pass that goes way into the touch line or if he blasts the ball up to Row ZZ or if he loses possession..
Jordan Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 People "Huuuume" him even if he hits a 40 yard pass that goes way into the touch line or if he blasts the ball up to Row ZZ or if he loses possession.. ...but are some of the HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMEs tongue-in-cheek?
Messi Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 fans cheer him when he has a bad game because ever since he has been here he always trys 100%

Simi Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 fans cheer him when he has a bad game because ever since he has been here he always trys 100% Most people on this forum would give 100% for there club. It should be the minimum.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Usually Hume is the cheapest shirt, but I daresay you would have paid handsomely for that.
Messi Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Usually Hume is the cheapest shirt, but I daresay you would have paid handsomely for that. Quite Right...i think it came to about £16 with discount
skinnydipper Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu me Isn't that the sound of a collective chunder, our fans as one , emptying their innards of the pre match booze and pies? I'm easily pleased. I'll cheer anything that tries, even if they're shit Akinbiyi - I cheered him - even though he was useless
Guest Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuume! We thought of you today.
Daggers Posted 23 February 2008 Author Posted 23 February 2008 We thought of you today. I was wondering if he'd be able to hear the abuse being thrown at him front your right hand side.

Alexikokopops Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Points of discussion today: 1) Etuhu does all the hard work, runs down the wing beating a player or two, squares it to Hume who proceeds to side foot an exquisite chance over the bar. Cue "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111" 2) Hume does fook all at the beginning of the second half. Nothing whatsoever. Jack fucking shit. About 15 minutes in he makes his first contribution and does a bog-standard tackle on a Bristol chap and puts the ball out for a throw-in. Cue "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111" Anyone who sits anywhere near the back of F1 knows my views on this.

So what if people cheer him on when he does fook all, it gives him the confidence to keep trying and to get chances which do fall and sometimes he takes then. Can you imagine what would happen if we were all silent when something happened? The players would basically give up and do nothing as their confidence would crumble... the fans play a MASSIVE part in a players game. Its fans like you who sit there grumbling away about how things are going crap and how we are a shit team that really hack me off as its that sort of negativity that affects the players and feeds the negativity that we sometimes play with! Why don't you just get behind the players and show some SUPPORT instead of always looking for the negatives!? (EDIT: Sorry if this sounds a little harsh/rude, and I promise this isn't just directed at you personally but the general group of fans that think negatively, but I am tired of hearing the same old grumbles about the performance, team, manager, chairman... why not just support the team and if things go wrong, forget the performance and move on... there is no point looking at past performances, we have to look at every game as a fresh start and/or build on the previous performance if it was good!)

What a ridiculous statement. "Fans like you". You really have no idea do you. I can't beleive you're supporting the Hume bashing. Yes, he is a decent player but when he's getting praised for doing shit, it's setting the marker so low for everyone else.

I wouldn't mind your argument if you applied the theory equally to all players. It doesn't happen though.
Mort Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I think on the basis of the last few games he's gotta be droped to the bench for the trip to St.Mary's... there really wasnt any place for him in the team yesterday anyway, so putting him on the left just smacked of square pegs in round holes... throw Lazcko or Mattock onto the left both have worked well with Clapham in the past and then you've always got Hume as an option on the bench (and a better option that either Hayles or Fryatt IMHO).
