Alnwick's Kicking Ass

Recommended Posts

I like the lad, he seems quite good and he's only going to improve at his age, and three clean sheets in a row, but i've read people praising the fact he's a good kicker, I don't see it myself, Last night the majority of his kicking was shocking, and I didn't think it was that good against Coventry.

Other than that not bad...Still miss our Marton though

Not great, but better than we're used to i'd say.

Plus, the bobbly pitch didn't help much last night.

Always something to moan about

Aslong as he keeps the ball out of the net he's doing a good job in my eyes.

All you seem to do is moan about other people moaning :dunno:

Whatever the reason, I can't remember the last time a City goalkeeper started his career with three clean sheets. Considering we were left in a bit of a mess when Fulop suddenly left, I think we can count ourselves extremely lucky indeed to have Alnwick.

Not really moaning.

Pointing out that they are moaning about the most tedious of things looking for something to moan about.

Who cares if the keepers kicks don't send strikers through into 1 on 1s really? Its his job to keep the ball out of the net, not lay on chances for our strikers.

I'd personally call it constructive criticism. I'm praising him, I like the lad, as you said he's keep the ball out the net and to have had a GK to come in, in such a rush and to have made 3 clean sheets in 3 games is great, but something he in my eyes needs to improve on is his kicking instead of it going out for a throw in 8 out of 10 times (Which is what was happening last night).

That's what forums are for, the better the result and or performance the pinickety fans will get, it's what footy fans do!

I was impressed with Alnwick last night, that punch under extreme pressure from the corner, some good takes when he needed to relieve the pressure, good coming off his line. Plus a huuuuuuge kick. I like the guy.

I keep meaning to watch his leg at goal kicks.

I keep forgetting to watch his leg at goal kicks.

Must be hard trying to look over people's shoulder?!

OOOOOOOOHHHH you went there.

But yes.

P.s Have I met you before?

Probably seen me around at a few away games.

Never introduced though.

Its the defence thats kicking ass not him, in the home games hes not had 1 single save to make. Until i see him make a save i can't judge, heard he made saves at Norwich game but i weren't there

Is that the defence that includes stearman that you slate each week?

Just to confirm, I never started the thread with the title - Alnwick's Kicking Ass. I started it with the title - Alnwick's Kicking.

I'm not interested in your thoughts at all, but is it safe to say the play-offs are now 100% on?

Have to say he's not really been tested. I'm not knocking him, it's just I need to see him under a bit of pressure to judge.

Against Cov we were lucky to not concede after mix-up between alnwick and stearman - I'll let him off that given it was his first game with those defenders. He pulled off 2 good saves against Norwich although was lucky with 2 Dublin attempts on the woodwork. Against Palace, he looked solid but again was not put under immense pressure.

The jury's out in my opinion ............. and they're bloody cold and need to get some proper coats!!

Sign him up before he keeps a few more clean sheets and his boss slaps a 3m asking price around his neck.

3 games, 3 clean sheets can't ask much more from the lad.

Aslong as he keeps the ball out of the net then I couldn't care less what his kicking is like :D
