Mark Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 With Craig Levein hinting their should be some fresh faces in the side, allowing a few of those to rest for Friday nights game, i'm hoping for a team along the lines of this. .......................Walker Maybury Dabizas McCarthy Stewart Gillespie Hughes Gudjonsson Tiatto .............Connolly Moore Subs: Hirschveld, Williams, Kenton, Stearman, Dublin
Benji Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 i'd go with that except stewart on bench, maybury left with kenton coming in right although i really cant see him not including de vries at all

geogth Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 although i really cant see him not including de vries at all 78253 78254 think its around the time de vries had a slight strain or pulled muscle.
Frenzied Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Walker Kenton McCarthy Dublin Maybury Gillespie Williams Gudjonsson Tiatto Hughes De Vries I like to see something like this, with Hughes playing in the kind of deep forward position that Scholes often employs at Man U. Subs: Hirschfield, Connolly, Stearman, Moore, Dabizas
Ric Flair Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 The problem we have at the minute is we don't know what our best team or formation is. I know it's good to have a few style of play in our locker, but it can confuse things at times. Williams, Hughes and Gudjonsson all deserve to play at the minute but I also think we have to play 2 upfront! I think wingbacks is the best system to play at the minute but then we can only pick two players from Gillespie, Tiatto, Stewart, Maybury and Kenton. Unless the latter plays as a centre half alongside McCarthy and Dabizas. But then Dublin is doing well at the minute. Moore must start tomorrow, we need to get the lad settled straight away and get an early goal otherwise he'll be in the same boat as Connolly and De Vries were/are waiting 10+ games before scoring. So after all that i'll go with Walker McCarthy Dabizas Kenton Maybury Williams Gudjonsson Hughes Tiatto Moore Connolly Subs: Dublin/MDV, Stewart, Gillespie, Hirschfield, Stearman Infact I don't like wing-backs Walker Kenton Dabizas McCarthy Maybury Gillespie Hughes Gudjonsson Stewart Connolly Moore Subs: Williams, Tiatto, Stearman, Hirschfield, MDV/Dublin I think Moore, McCarthy and Hughes have to play we need their energy. Williams doesn't deserve to be dropped though, I hope Levein can convert Hughes or Williams in to being alot more dynamic so they can play together.

Your formation with Stewart in for Tiatto (Tiato doesnt give us enough width) is what I would play against Watford
breadandcheese Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 In light of the recent performances, this is the sort of team I would like to see: Walker Canero (I want to see him given a proper chance) Dabizas McCarthy Maybury Gillespie Williams Gudjonsson Stewart Moore Connolly Subs: Hirschfield, Dublin, Hughes, Tiatto, MDV (as poor as MDV has played, he will provide extra options coming from the bench)
Ricey Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 ------------Walker Kenton - Dabizas - McCarthy - Maybury Gillespie - Hughes - Williams - Tiatto -----------De Vries - Moore Subs: Hirchfeld, Dublin, Connolly, Gudjonsson, Stewart

Add to this that the West Ham game would be considered tougher so he could bring Dublin, Tiatto and De Vries back for that.
Sparky Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 walker maybury dabizas mccarthy stewart gillespie gudjohnson williams tiatto moore dublin subs hirshfeld , mvd , connolly , hughes , kenton ive gone for the dublin-moore partnership and hope they would know each others game from their days at villa , ive gone for dublin infront of connolly just because i still think we need a target for gillespies balls in . ive gone for wiiliams infront of hughes because i still think gw is our most creative midfielder

Stewart could then come on the second half in place of the tiring Tiatto. I would play Dublin up front because I am willing to give him a second chance - he seems to win a lot more balls in the air nowadays than he did at the start of the season and that's what we need.
filbertway Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I know no one will agree with this but....... -------------walker kenton......dublin.......mcarthy.......maybury gillespie...............williams..............tiatto .....................hughes ..................moore............wright worth ago i reckon, what do you all think ?????
Chimp Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Walker Kenton - Dublin - McCarthy - Maybury Gillespie - Gudjonsson - Hughes - Tiatto Connolly - Moore Gudjonsson playing defensive midfield and Hughes playing a much more attacking style, getting up front to support the strikers whenever he can. I see this game as a must win, with the defeat to Blackburn, a hard trip to West Ham on Friday and then a two week break this is the ideal opportunity to get a vital 3 points against a team we should beat (on paper) and bolster confidence in the team and with the fans/press.
davieG Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I'm amazed so many of you have Dublin in your selection, considering his age and that he was doubtful for Blackburn and that was only yesterday I just can't see him starting in any capacity, West Ham maybe but not tomorrow.
TAFKA Castroneves Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 (4-4-2) Walker - GK Stearman - RB McCarthy - CD Heath - CD Stewart - LB Gillespie - RM Hughes - CM Nalis - CM Tiatto - LM Dublin - SC Moore - SC Giving a lot of guys chances here, but also thinking towards West Ham on Friday. Joey and Gareth need resting while I've got a feeling about shoving Dion up front for another go.
Little Nicky Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Walker Kenton - Dabizas - McCarthy - Stewart Gillespie - Gudjonsson - Hughes - Tiatto Connolly - Moore Subs: Hirschfield, Heath, Maybury, Williams, De Vries/Dublin
dan_84 Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 ...................Walker...................... .......Kenton...McCarthy...Dabizas......... Maybury...Gudjonsen..Williams...Stewart... ...................Connelly.......................... ..............Moore........Dublin.................. Subs Hughes De Vries Wright Heath Canero By playing Connelly behind the front 2 it allows him to do what he has been doing by dropping deep and also go out wide and cut in, as he so sometimes does this and then leaves us with no options up front. Dublin has really impreesed me recently, it seems he has learnt how to win a header again. Left Tiatto out to give him a rest for fridays game at West Ham. as we know his injury trouble.
Scow Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Walker Kenton - Dabizas - McCarthy - Maybury Gillespie - Gudjonsson - Williams - Stewart Moore - Connolly ------------------------------------------------- Plenty of energy, movement and pace in midfield/attack. Something we've lacked for a long time...
fosseman Posted 15 March 2005 Posted 15 March 2005 No-one has included Blake and Wright in their line-ups. What an omission!!
Muz Posted 15 March 2005 Posted 15 March 2005 I would give Dublin and Moore ago up front. They cant do any worse than our strikers at the minute.
Fox in a Box Posted 15 March 2005 Posted 15 March 2005 I' d play the all new long ball 1-2-9 formation Walker McCarthy - Maybury Moore - Connolly - Dabizas -Dublin - MDV - Williams - Wright - O Grady - Lineker?
