Master Fox Posted 1 February 2008 Author Posted 1 February 2008 You forgot Petrol. ARRRHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, if you must have a flash motor. Sod it, i'm just going to buy a car for £100 and make it last.
danny. Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 I've had to have 3 new tyres this week (£350 for 'cheaper' Falken ones, the conti sports it had before would have been closer to £800 for the 3) Put £60 of petrol in this morning and not long paid £220 in road tax and £800 insurance, it sucks!!!!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Get a nice cheap one! Didn't think I'd get a chance to use this picture again so soon!
Hugo Sanchez Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Get a nice cheap one! Didn't think I'd get a chance to use this picture again so soon! Ahh a fine East German car i see.
Matt Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Just been to get a rear light which lights up the number plate (Under the boot) £5.99. 2 Front Wipers - £10 each. So £26 for parts...Ended up with VAT and labour £45. And I still need my centre caps for my wheels (Except VW don't supply them, so it's a ebay job I think...Probably cost about £10) and I need a new gear stick cover because it has snapped (Which tells you where R, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, gears are) but to get hold of one of them through VW would mean buying a whole gear stick costing £26, so i'm gonna have to look on ebay for that aswell, but if I can't get hold of one abit of super glue will be fine.
stez Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 bloody do gooders banning asbestos in brake pads means discs need replacing all the time, bastards!
MikeyT Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 I know my car seems to fcuk up all the time as well...had the wishbone on my car bugger up 3 times now...clutch has gone as well, plus the exhaust has been sorted twice recently as well! Grrrrr Anyone want it?

You paid someone that much to fit 2 wipers and replace a bulb? WTF?
Thracian Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 ARRRHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sod it, i'm just going to buy a car for £100 and make it last. You might laugh but while £100 is cutting it fine the principle is perfectly sound. My son's car cost him £350, has lasted him two years without a hint of trouble, and he swops baby sitting for routine servicing and maintenance.
Matt Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 You paid someone that much to fit 2 wipers and replace a bulb? WTF? Wipers fitted for free. Light/Bulb wasn't working because of a slight crack to the bumper/screw fixings, so that was also repaired. Which is where the labour cost came in.
Tomassi Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 I still wish i had the Nissan Micra in terms of how cheap it was to run!!! having said that, my Focus offers more power and i dont regret forking over 7grand for it
blue blood Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 im looking to buy a new shape passat. Yep finding the right car/right price/right running costs is hard work.
cisono Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 I've had to have 3 new tyres this week (£350 for 'cheaper' Falken ones, the conti sports it had before would have been closer to £800 for the 3)Put £60 of petrol in this morning and not long paid £220 in road tax and £800 insurance, it sucks!!!! In Italy, you would not be allowed to do that. You always have to replace the whole set of tyres (even more money!!!) ...
danny. Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 that's crazy!!! 1 of the back ones i replaced was from a puncture, the tyre was only 2 months old, hence the odd number - have replaced all 4 in the last 2 months now. weird rule though, generally the front ones wear quicker than the back, seems a bit wasteful having to replace all 4 at once
