lildave3 Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 It's effectively Rooney on his own up top, not too big a fan of that. But very pleased with the Bentley and Young inclusions.
Uncle Albert Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 It's effectively Rooney on his own up top, not too big a fan of that. But very pleased with the Bentley and Young inclusions. Same mate! Pace and quality deliveries from set-peices. Maybe a tad early but Beckam who? Hopefully Gerrard will score aswell to shut Hugo bleeding up!
Simi Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 It's effectively Rooney on his own up top, not too big a fan of that. But very pleased with the Bentley and Young inclusions. Would rather SWP than David "I'm to good for Under 21's" Bentley.
Uncle Albert Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Would rather SWP than David "I'm to good for Under 21's" Bentley. He is though to be fair.
Simi Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 He is though to be fair. That's a different story. If he's picked he should play for them. I thought most of these players "loved representing their country"
Mikey Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Gonna win 2/3-0 I think. Gerrard, Rooney and Crouch are going to get us off to a good start with Capello
Uncle Albert Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 That's a different story. If he's picked he should play for them. I thought most of these players "loved representing their country" If you know that you are better than the likes of James Milner, you arent going to want to play in the same team for them when you are good enough to be in the senior side. Anyway hopefully he twats a free kick in.
WetFlannel Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 If they were they more than likely wouldn't be posting at 4:14! They dont necessarily have to live in Leicester

They dont necessarily have to live in Leicester Hence why I said "more than likely".
James. Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Team: James Brown Ferdinand Upson Cole Jenas Barry Gerrard Bentley Cole Rooney Probably have Jenas and Barry sitting behind Gerrard, Bentley and Cole with Rooney up front. Or something..?

James. Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 JamesBrown--Ferdinand--Upson--ColeBentley--Gerrard---Jenas---BarryColeRooney You're probably right. TalkSport alluded to the fact Capello had used a 4-2-3-1 formation before... we shall see.

lildave3 Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Damn. As much as I like Barry and Jenas, I think Young deserves a chance on the left.
Simi Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 I dont really care if you agree with me or not. That is what i feel. Steady. That's the whole point of the forum surely.
Uncle Albert Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Steady. That's the whole point of the forum surely. Yes of course thats the whole idea of the forum. I am stating though that I dont agree with you.
MC Prussian Posted 6 February 2008 Author Posted 6 February 2008 Oooh, Wembley does look really intimidating right now - about 5 percent full or something!

Oooh, Wembley does look really intimidating right now - about 5 percent full or something! It will probably look the same 5 minutes after kick off - depends what type of soup they're all being served in the corporate areas.
MC Prussian Posted 6 February 2008 Author Posted 6 February 2008 Looks like it's going to be 4-5-1 vs. 4-5-1... Draw on the cards?
Joe. Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Well this has surprised me. I had my mind set on the expected team that's been floating around today. Just hope than Jenas is in the middle rather than out left. The 4-2-3-1 does sound likely to me, and very logical too. It would give great cover to our defence with Barry sitting there and allowing Jenas to go forward. Then we obviously have Stevie G who I think will be allowed much more freedom tonight that usual. It's certainly what he needs. Then we'll hopefully have Bentley and Cole on the wings with effectively Rooney on his own his own up front. It's an interesting idea, and one that's perfect to try out in a game like this.
